Can a lonely cyborg protect a determined scientist from the dangers of Mars?

Dr. Sadie Tucker has spent her entire life in the pursuit of knowledge. That quest takes her to the wild Martian frontier, where her latest bioengineering project could revolutionize homesteading on the planet. She can’t afford any distractions - even though the big, silent cyborg ranger guarding her reminds her that she is a woman as well as a scientist.

When the military sent Z-384 to Mars, he put his troubled past - and his humanity - behind him. He knows that only cold, isolation, and work lie ahead. But the intriguing little scientist he’s assigned to protect suddenly has him longing for a different kind of future. When Sadie and Zeb are trapped in a mysterious underground chamber, any kind of future seems impossible. With some unexpected help from Sadie’s prototype, can the two find a way to escape? And if they do, can they find happiness together?

Each book in the Cyborg on Mars series can be enjoyed as a standalone romance. This sweet and steamy science fiction romance is intended for mature readers.

A version of this story was previously published in the Pets in Space 7 anthology.

I thought this series would be cartoonish, but it isn't. Usually well-written and well-thought-out.

I wasn't sure if I would like this series because of the title and artwork. I was wrong. These books are well-rounded in world-building, dialog, and character-building. I love all the previous books except, this one.
This story was so rushed the reader was barely introduced to the MC Jeb and FC before we reached the end of the book. A couple of pages in, FC is seducing MC, he holds out two minutes and it's a slam bam thank you, ma'am. One day together and they are getting married.
Such a complete letdown. I still have no idea who the protagonists really are. What kind of people they were? What makes them tick? What was life like on earth for them? Or how old were they? What they really looked like other than one is big the other short. Little things found in the other novels that brought the characters to life and got us to know them on a deeper level. I could describe the characters from the other books to a sketch artist that's how well the writer brought the story alive for the readers.
What happened? Is the writer bored with the series and just threw something out hoping to appease her readers? I have seen it happen in a few other series. Note; if an author is tired of, and bored with, a series just stop with the last successful book instead of giving us such a disappointing letdown of a story.

Series: Cyborgs On Mars #5.6
Rating: 3 stars - I liked it

“Because you’re the one who finally reached the man inside me.”

Dr. Sadie Tucker is on Mars to use her genetically engineered moles to help terraform the planet. What she doesn’t expect is to instantly fall for the cyborg sent to escort her to her lab. I really enjoyed Sadie and Zeb’s story. They had an instant love romance that was very sweet, especially considering how much Zeb tried to resist it at first. Also the vibrating cock probably helped.

I loved the pets in this one! A cyborg horse is a very interesting animal companion and I really loved Eggie, the mole, because she was cute and smart. Also, you don’t have to read any of the previous Cyborgs on Mars books to understand this world. Phillips does a good job at presenting enough background about this world that it's easy to understand what is going on, especially for such a short story. But, I do recommend this series because they are short cyborg romances set on mars.

TW: brief mention of abandonment by family; death of mother mentioned; misogyny in the workplace mentioned briefly;

Zeb is a soldier that turned cyborg to keep him alive. He is shipped to Mars to help make Mars live able and be a ranger after it is setup for humans to move there.
Sadie and her pet Eggie have come to Mars to make the soil profitable. Eggie was engineered to do that. They have Zeb as an escort to the lab. A storm brews and unfortunate events happen. If not for Eggie and Zebs horse Soldier they wouldn’t make it to the end of this story.

A fine read!
I do so love the Cyborgs on Mars series! This one may be short, but it has all the elements needed for a fine story. It doesn’t take Sadie very long to pull Zeb from his typically angry mode to one of loving male. They’re a great match! What could possibly be better that having such a strong, loving fellow in a dire situation? As always, those cyborg horses prove their value. Oh, I adore ‘Eggie,’ Sadie’s little pet. Such a cute, loving companion. Wait ‘til you meet her! A fine read - short and sweet!

This series is about soldiers who were wounded in the war and received metal parts which have changes their status from 'human' to 'cyborg' and as such they were treated more like machine then humans on planet Earth and ended up being used to colonies and patrol Mars. It does goes into feeling like yourself despite the fact that you have amputated limbs and into finding yourself among a world that isn't built her you.

This story is an insta-love story where the male characters straight away feel that the female is the person that they are suppose to be with, either because of how they feel about them or because of some internal voice which tells them that this person is the person that they are suppose to be with.

MAN, I like spending time with these cyborgs and the human ladies who capture their hearts. I mean, we have a wild planet with plenty of dangers and a group of cyborg males who collectively believe they don't deserve anything good in life. Then they meet their special someone and suddenly they start to see that life is definitely worth living.

This time around we have Sadie and Zeb. Sadie has plenty of knowledge tucked in her head, but no practical experience when it comes to Mars. Enter Zeb. He might not want to babysit the good doctor on the way to her new home, but he does what he needs to do.

And somewhere along the way the big guy realizes Sadie's made a space for herself in his heart. Not literally.

A little danger, a mystery that might be better left unspoken of, a critter who helps in a big way, a grump of a cyborg who hides a big heart, and a lady who is determined to find her place on this world. *thumbs up*

Sadie is a scientist who arrives on Mars to complete a study project. Zeb is a lonely cyborg ranger assigned to accompany her while she travels to her lab. But then there is only one bed, and then the two get stranded and oh no, there is no bed at all and maybe even no tomorrow, and well, you can figure out the rest.
It was fun being back on Mars with the lady-scientists and awesome cyborgs and the secretly sentient robot horses. And this time there is also a cute pet mole involved. The story was a quick one, with the usual heat and a plot twist that hints at future adventures in this universe. My only complaint is that it was a bit too quick, not just an insta-love romance but an insta everything and I couldn’t really feel the characters like the ones in earlier instalments. But since the writer hints of more stories to come in this world, it was more like an introduction to a new story arc and a chance to visit some old friends. So, I’m excited for the new book in the series, whenever it comes.

I love this series!🌟💖🌟

Cyborgs on Mars is one of my all time favorite series by Honey Phillips! I love retiring to the Red Planet where the frontier is still as wild as the old west! Zeb was the son of a wealthy family who joined the military to make a difference. When he was injured the government made him a cyborg, his family disowned him and they sent him to Mars. He thought his heart was dead until he met Sadie. Sadie is a very young beautiful scientist who has discovered a way to help make the soil on Mars easier to grow crops. She has genetically engineered a mole to help work and fertilize the soil to allow plants to grow. On her mission she need an escort to help her manage the harsh Martian terrain. When she meets Zeb all her plans rearrange themselves to include him. Zeb is a bit reluctant, but a horrible sand storm, an earthquake and almost dying bring these to souls together . we discover something about Mars past that I hope we revisit in the future and we also get to see old friends. Fabulous edition to this series that I hope Ms. Phillips continues to allow us to visit frequently!! Highly recommend🌟💖🔥🔥💖🔥🌟🔥💖🔥🌟💖🔥💖🌟🔥💖🌟🔥🌟💖🔥💖🌟🔥💖🌟🔥

Back to Mars. YES!! I love this series. Each book is unique. And this book also says "hi" to the previous Cyborgs and their mates.
I loved Sadie. She give the spark needed for Zeb to realize he is not only a cyborg but human. I loved the different ways she was able to finally convince him. We get to read about why he thinks he is only cyborg and not worthy.
They discover they have more in common than first thought.
Zeb from the moment he saw Sadie knew she was special. But because of his past didn't want anything to do with her. Other than get her to her destination.
Then there is Eggie. So cute. She makes their adventure fun to read. And of course she and soldier came to the rescue.
Action , adventure, misunderstandings corrected ,perfect HEA and of course steam to the eventual romance. Everything needed to make this a book I will be rereading.

Sadie (h) takes her one-way trip to Mars to realize her scientific dreams of aiding planetary homesteading with her bioengineered moles, including her prototype adorbs companion, Eggie. Cyborg ranger Z-384 (H) is assigned to accompany her to a distant lab and finds himself driven to distraction by the feisty scientist who insists on calling him Zeb. As the two get to know one another, their connection deepens, even though Zeb worries that Sadie wouldn’t be interested in a cyborg. When a natural disaster traps Zeb and Sadie below the planet surface, they find themselves turning to one another and facing an unusual, shared experience. Loved Eggie and Soldier, and their heroic actions. Poor Zeb and his memories. Great catching up with couples from previous stories. Hot and steamy cyborg-human romance with plenty of action and adventure.

So sweet, but over WAYY to soon !!!

What a fantastic , easy read . A!ways a pleasure to come back to these Mars Cyborgs !!!
IN this story we meet Zeb A cyborg ranger who gets a new assignment as a bodyguard for Sadie and her mole companion Eggie .
Sadie is involved in helping the farms of Mars make it a success by her modified moles sifting through the dirt as the would have done in earth. Sadie is super excited for the opportunity ! But she isn't so sure about her , " bodyguard ". Not like its necessary !!
But Zeb has gotten his orders, and that was that .
As Sadie and Zeb journey across the bare Martian landscape and get to know each other better , this story evolves just as their feelings for each other !!
We get to see a few people from former books and a little mystery as well !!! Can't wait to read more !!!

I loved it

I really love your Cyborg stories. I really enjoy reading about the Cyborg Rangers that have been hurt emotionally, as well as the physical near death that caused them to be enhanced with cybertronics. Zev wants to go by his designated number, and not his name. Sadie decided that she will show him that she may be small, but she's mighty. She also decides Zev is a big strong man with a lot to offer, and she wants what he's not comfortable giving. She also knows he may be fighting it, but he wants her just as bad.I loved how he finally acts like a real man, after she basically puts herself on a platter. I look forward to more explanation about their shared dream , and what is in the cave. Great read.

"He might be a grouch, but he was a very capable grouch..."

Sadie has come to Mars as a scientist with an innovation/experiment she hopes will improve life on Mars and help the homesteaders.

Zeb has gotten used to his life as a cyborg, he left the human world behind along with the life he lost when he was transformed. He's not prepared for an intelligent woman determined to help him accept he can do more than just exist.

This done in one story embraces the mystery and adventure of frontier life as an intelligent woman and the strong man determined to help her succeed, and stay safe, head to her lab to get set up and find out if the work she did on Earth will make a difference here on Mars.

Cyborg Rider again transports readers back to Mars in a sweet and lovely adventure as we find Dr. Sadie Tucker arriving on the planet with her latest bioengineering project which if successful will advance the planets homesteading capabilities.
Meeting Cyborg Ranger Z-384/Zeb who has been unwilling assigned to her as protection was a tad antagonistic but the events that will soon unfold absolutely will provide a satisfying Cyborg Romance full of emotion, engaging characters, suspense and a healthy dose of steam.
I loved the story and enjoyed this eighth book of a very rewarding series.

Mars- developed by cyborgs to allow humans to live there. The cyborgs were human soldiers that were altered after suffering near fatal wounds in war. But on earth they were no longer human and lost all rights. But on Mars they became rangers and protect the humans. A lucky few find a connection. Zeb was lucky.
Sadie is a scientist and brings her work to Mars. Eggie is a great companion and the first engineered mole to help on Mars. And Eggie and Soldier, Zeb's cyborg horse, are very integral to this story. Honey has given her readers a thrilling tale full of surprises, beautiful landscapes, humor, grumpy cyborg, cute Eggie, danger and steam. I honestly could not put it down.

Delighted to return to Mars and all the amazing people inhabiting it.
Z-384 is a former soldier whom was turned into a cyborg after a nearly fatal injury. His wealthy family disowned him after they no longer considered him human. He is sent to Mars after becoming a cyborg.
Dr. Sadie Tucker has spent her life in the pursuit of knowledge and developing new ways to benefit mankind.
Her research has now brought her to Mars along with her beloved companion and creation Eggie.
The story is well written and their relationship unfolds beautifully.

A very special insta-love

I’m loving the aspect that the couple may have actually seen something in the cave they were trapped in. And Sadie’s worry that she made Eggie and the others all female made me think of Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic Park stating that “nature would always find a way.”

This is a favorite sci-fi series without being to far out there as Earth’s over population has sent humans to Mars to terraform with the aid of cyborg lawmen.

I always look forward to a new installment as the lonely cyborgs find their HEA. Thank you Honey Phillips for another fun and exciting read.

Zeb needs to loosen up, and Sadie and Eggie are just the right characters to do it! This story is a good fit, it feels like a transitional piece, that will propel this series into a new direction. I could be wrong though. In either case, this is an engaging story with compelling characters and a fun animal sidekick. There are well timed sexy scenes as well as near death climactic action. Overall, this novella reads fast but is absolutely a nonputdownable story that was fun to read, great character development and an exciting storyline!

Want more

Longer story, more of results of experiment. Love science. More of other past characters and there children.
Also hoped she had update of the moles returning to cave. With cameras.
Lastly wanted to have Mars government legalize the cyborgs and allow them all rights as humans. With future book setting up fight to have earth do so. So they can inherit property. Visit family, etc. Maybe have future scientist, psychologist come and see the families and individuals to make opinions for court

This Insta-Love is so great! I always enjoy coming back to Mars with Honey's cyborgs. This time it's one of the original cyborgs who had tried to block out emotions for his own reasons. Our mfc chose to come to Mars for her reasons. Even in a short story, Honey does her gift of strong character and world-building proud, as usual! With a possible hint of how the Mars future stories may take a twist?

I do love this cyborg series! It’s nice to see another soldier turned cyborg find his love on the harsh environment of Mars. I don’t want to ruin it but the surprise that is found on Mars blew me away. I was hoping this part of the story would develop more but I’m looking forward for it to be weaved into a story all on its own. This could open up this series to so many possibilities. Perhaps a continuation of Sadie and Zeb’s story. I loved the addition of Eggie. Masterful!.

Insta'love? Ugh

Declaring love too soon is a turn off. By the second chapter they want to kiss, really? It is like every scientist gets off the "ship" and is instantly aroused. No character development, no relationship development. That is fine if you are 15 years old! And every female is tiny with a lush figure or skinny with a lush figure. There are other types of women around.

Another exceptional read by Honey Phillips. These cyborg rangers just keep getting better and better. Protecting Mars and its inhabitants come to a grounding halt when Zeb is reassigned to transport a human female, Sadie, and her amazing, loveable pet, Eggie.

An unexpected storm brings them closer together than they could ever have imagined.
