Chi came to Strawberry Sands to escape her past. There were a lot of things to be ashamed of there. Maybe that's why she's so eager to catch the eye of the big-name lawyer who hangs out at her diner. It will prove she's not as worthless as she feels. At a big gala she wasn't supposed to attend, she discovers the lawyer is not only cheating on her, but married as well. She might have done more to embarrass herself, but Griff, her co-worker showed up on his bike and whisked her away. Almost like a heroine in a fairy tale, except her life is anything but a fairy tale. And Chi is far from a heroine. Griff has done his share of things he regrets, and he can see the signs of self-destruction loud and clear in Chi. Maybe that's why he followed her to Blueberry Beach when she chased the fancy lawyer. Regardless, he was there to save her from herself, and to his surprise, she held on tight as he rode away. So far so good. Now all he has to do is convince her that appearances aren't everything, the past is under the blood, and it's what in her heart that matters. Simple. And he has to do all that without allowing her to see how much he loves her. Because, despite his tough persona, his heart can't handle another rejection.
Chi and Griff's love story is fantastic. He rode into town one day and offered to be a cook for Chi at her diner. He fell in love with her that day. Chi had no idea. She enjoyed working with him but that was all. When he went to Chicago to save her from a married man she thought she was in love with, she realized how wonderful and trustworthy Griff was. When 18 year old Rodney has a problem with his parents, Griff takes him in and becomes a role model for him. Chi finally realizes she is in love with Griff and they get married. God doesn't think you lack anything. He loves you. He knew she didn't want to be with a married man. Knew she wanted more, but she didn't think she was good enough to deserve anything better than someone who treated her like the lawyer. That was her problem. It wasn't that she didn't have values or morals, she just didn't have a sense of her worth. She didn't understand that it was because God loved her, because God saved her, because God died for her, that gave her worth. You want people to choose to be kind to you. You want people to choose to be with you. You want people to choose to love you. God's the same way. What fun is it if He forces everyone to love Him? He wants them to come to Him of their own free will. Chi asked Griff: Why did you stop at the diner that day? It was the Lord, he answered without hesitation. God told you to stop? she asked. Not an audible voice. But have you had those things that happen and you just realize that the timing was perfect and it can only be God? That's what it was. Griff told Chi: it's the Creator we should want to admire. It's the Creator we should want to have a relationship with. He owns everything. Money doesn't matter, it's all God's. Like you're the kind of man a girl could fall in love with. I didn't think I'd ever hear you say something like that to me. I mean it...I'm definitely falling in love with you. It's about time. I've been in love with you forever. He moved his lips along her mouth. It didn't seem to matter where he wanted to go, she was ready. Maybe that was because she trusted him. (It is so important to trust and of course the basis for this book) Griff said to Chi: I'm not asking you to marry me but I'm telling you that's what I want. Chi said: And whenever you're ready to ask, I'm ready to say yes. Speaking about her wedding Chi said she just wanted Griff. I think we have plenty of time to plan. Just a celebration with our friends here in town and some good, easy food, and low stress, and just the people who are important to us. It was an amazing feeling, and she knew as long as she was with Griff, she would be with a man who loved his family and would be faithful to his wife.
Jessie has written another brilliant book about owning a diner, working as a cook in that diner and of course falling in love. I recommend this book and all of Jessie's books to everyone. I received this book from the publisher. All thoughts and comments are my own.
This book is an example of finding faith in the darkest of situations and of self-growth after an honest self-examination of one’s motives and driving forces. Chi has long been tying her self-worth to how others see her and the worldly goods in her possession due to her poor upbringing. She thought leaving her diner behind to live in Chicago with a well to do lawyer would show the world that she was worthy. She discovers her wealthy lawyer is not only married, but is also stringing another woman along without care of how his actions affect his wife and son whom she never knew existed. Griffin, the man who worked side by side with her in the diner and even made plans for expansion before she so carelessly decided she was done with the diner and the town of Strawberry Sands, rides to her rescue.
With a snow storm looming, Griffin takes Chi to his cabin with the thought that she will have time and space to decompress and work through what happened in Chicago before she goes back to Strawberry Sands. Their time at the cabin also gives them both a chance to really converse honestly and to reveal the motivations behind their actions and what they are thinking. Griffin gives Chi an insight into her own skewed thinking and reminds her that her worth is not determined by others, but by God and herself. He also speaks about the diner and its role in the community as well as the reason he stayed and took the job in the diner. His love for Chi has been evident to all but Chi. Now that her eyes have been opened, she sees that Griffin is a man of character and faith who left behind a world where wealth was the measure of a man’s worth. She examines her own motives, her own needs and her own relationship with God and then aspires to be more like Griffin.
So much more happens after they return to Strawberry Sands which illustrates the wayward choices people make, the consequences of those choices and the challenge to find and adhere to faith in God. Friendship, community, and accepting as well as offering help when needed are also an integral part of this inspiring book. Though God gave them a few twists to handle or work through, Chi and Griffin do build a future together.
I received a copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving this honest review.
"There I Find Trust" is an emotionally gripping tale of redemption and self-discovery set against the backdrop of Strawberry Sands. Chi, a woman burdened by her past mistakes, embarks on a journey to prove her worth, and the narrative beautifully weaves together her pursuit of validation and her chance encounter with Griff, a man with his own regrets.
The story expertly explores the complexity of human emotions and the transformative power of unexpected connections. Chi's vulnerability and determination and are both relatable and inspiring, making her a character readers will root for from the very beginning.
Griff, too, is a compelling character with a past that haunts him, yet he finds purpose in saving Chi from her downward spiral. Their dynamic is both heartwarming and heartrending, as they grapple with their own demons while trying to heal each other. His trust in God goes deep into the story. Jessie Gussman has crafted a narrative that delves deep into the themes of self-worth, forgiveness, and the importance of looking beyond appearances to God. The prose is both evocative and poignant, drawing readers into the small-town world of Strawberry Sands and making them feel like they are right there with Chi and Griff.
In "There I Find Trust," readers will find a poignant reminder that true strength lies in the heart and that redemption is always within reach. This emotionally charged tale is a must-read for anyone who appreciates a heartfelt story of second chances and the enduring power of trust in God. I had an ARC of this book and the thoughts on this book are my own.
This book hooked me right in, not only because I was excited to read about Chi and Griff, but because there is action right from the start that surprises you. Chi has decided that money and prestige are going to make her happy and she has a single-minded focus trying to make that happen without realizing what that is doing to Griff. Griff through a very circuitous route has had that and decided that he wants to leave that world and gets on his motorcycle and ends up in her struggling diner as her short order cook. His appearance as a rough biker type and his gruff personality hides a soul who has seen it all but is still soft and loving, he especially loves Chi and she is clueless. The story also involves children who are caught in the aftermath of their parents choices and dealing in hard consequences. There are lots of trust issues floating around from very believable circumstances and in the end there are two families trying to blend disparate pieces into functional, loving and viable units. There is a healthy dose of Christian wisdom as everyone tries to figure things out. The concept of agency and the ripples that spread out when choices both good and bad are made is focused on. Even though this book might be a standalone, it builds on circumstances and people from previous books in the series and is better read together and in order to fully understand and enjoy it. I received this as an arc.
Chi's childhood taught her that the important thing in life is security, found in money. So when a rich lawyer who visits her diner shows interest in her, she reciprocates. But when she suddenly discovers that things aren't what they seem, she's forced to reconsider her priorities. Who can she truly trust? Griff stayed in Strawberry Sands because there was something in Chi he couldn't walk away from. But when she decides to move to Chicago with the lawyer who's been showing interest - and who he's convinced is already married - he knows he has to try to save her, even if he never gets her himself.
It's been clear for the entire series that these two have to end up together, but I admit that I didn't see the event that brought them together coming. I loved the way that Griff was always there for her (and always has been), but it was even more special when she finally realised it and saw the difference between what she'd been chasing and what had been there all along. And the happy 'ending' for Rodney was very satisfying - except that I can't help hoping it's not really the end! An enjoyable read and I'm looking forward to the next book already.
Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.
There I Find Trust is not your usual love story. It is the love story of Griff and Chi, but it has a twist no one probably seen coming. After Rodney seen his father in the diner "groping" Chi, his life had changed dramatically. He went into dressing in black and running with the wrong crowd. He had made a friend of Griff and Griff had talked to him about the hazards of living the gothic lifestyle. He quoted scriptures to Rodney to help him see and used his past to show Rodney anyone who wants to can change. Griff 's character and how he saved Chi had made Chi finally open her eyes to what everybody had seen for years. Rodney was living with Griff and they thought he could use a set of parents that would be the type you want to grow up like. That is what Becky had told him. Since she seen how much Luke and Kristen cared for her she wanted to make them proud by doing what they said. Rodney had taught her that your actions have consequences that you have to face. Becky being several years younger but had grown up in a harder life making her older in her actions, said she could see how that would be true. For each hardship a person faces, they can chose to get closer to God of to fall farther from him. Rodney had chosen to draw closer with the preacher and Griff's help and passed that onto Becky.
At last! The Grif and Chi love story in Jessie Gussman’s Strawberry Sands series. For all the Jessie Gussman fans out there, hopefully, you have found time to start reading her newest series. Strawberry Sands, a tiny town on the shores of Lake Michigan is peopled with all sorts of delicious characters who find love and the love of God in their interactions. Chi, the owner of the local diner has been wishing she could be whisked away to money and importance by the sleazy lawyer James who wants everything and promises nothing. In the meantime, Grif, her tough-as-nails motorcycle-riding cook has wished she would notice him someday. He is much more than he appears to be and Chi doesn’t see it.
Soon Chi is going to learn the truth about James and come to face herself in the process. But the story doesn’t stop there. Jessie concludes the teenage Rodney and Becky story in a particularly dramatic and compelling way. This may be my favorite book so far of the series and as always Jessie convicts me with biblical truths about love and forgiveness and most of all trust. Who do we trust? Ourselves or God? All the characters have to come to grips with this issue and find the answer. Another delightful read from Jessie Gussman.
Learning what you really value and who you can really trust Decisions we all must make are who we will trust and what do we really value and want? The answer to these questions can have huge impact on our lives and our choices. This book starts with Chi who is drawn to a man, James, expressing a serious interest in her and who is wealthy and has status but does not have her same values. When she decides to attend a gala that James didn’t want her to attend, rationalizing that he didn’t want either of them to be out that late because of the travel time, and it would be such a great surprise. But she did not count on being the one to be surprised. After arriving, Chi waits watching for James only to see him enter with another woman on his arm and not at all happy to see her. After confronting James, Chi is whisked away by Griff, her employee and friend, to a small cabin where they are snowed in for a few days. Days Chi desperately needs to figure out exactly what she wants and who she can trust. A thought provoking read. Please note this book is a Christian themed novel and has characters engaged in doctrinal discussions. I received an early copy and this is my honest review.
Griff had experienced success and wealth as a lawyer, but found his life empty of meaning. He took to the road on his bike, traveling until he met Chi. Admiring her grit and determination, he quits traveling and dedicates himself to taking care of her, working as a cook at her diner. Chi longs for respect and security, and has decided that being a rich man's wife is the way to get that. Looking for a rich man, Chi can't even see Griff's fine qualities right in front of her, she only sees his shaved head and worn clothes. Griff rescues Chi from a bad situation due to her poor choice and takes her to his cabin to wait out a storm. There she finally comes to really see Griff's commitment and fine qualities. I liked Griff's patience and even temper. Chi has had a scare is now willing to listen to Griff and reevaluate her ideas. Griff is a great example of sacrificial, non-judgemental love. Series readers have watched Griff's faithful service to Chi since the first book, and are cheering that they finally get together. This book is a HEA and a standalone, but I think it would be more enjoyable if you have read the previous books. I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion.
I loved this books. It’s definitely “darker” than the previous ones in the series but the light of faith wins in the end as the characters grow up and change. They focus on God and the people around them, they give up selfishness and pride. More characters’ stories are continued, I appreciate them crossing paths with each other’s. Rodney and Becky learn to become great human beings despite all they have to face. Their bond is a beautiful one. He used to help her when she needed it and it’s her turn in this book. Their age gap doesn’t matter at all since they are full of respect and have great values. I can’t wait to see what will happen for them in the future!
Griff is the perfect character. I wanted so much to witness his happiness! I couldn’t stand Chi on the contrary! It’s the first time since I discovered this author that I don’t like a character she created! But it was so well orchestrated! Jessie Gussmann achieved the hard task of changing a selfish and venal woman into a good person who finally opened her eyes and got rid of the scars from her past! I like Chi now! I recommend the book and the whole series!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Chi is starting over in Strawberry Sands. She has opened a diner. One day Griff shows up on his motorcycle and becomes her cook. He creates these fabulous strawberry recipes that bring the whole town in to eat.
Chi has always felt unworthy and wants to marry a successful man with money. That way people won't look down on her anymore. She flirts with an attorney that frequents the diner.
Griff has loved Chi from the moment he first saw her. He continues to work for her knowing that she will never see anything in him.
When Chi agrees to move to Chicago and move into a penthouse with the attorney, Griff is heartbroken, but Chi is determined to "find her worth". She drives to Chicago to surprise her boyfriend and finds him on the arm of another woman. He also has a wife that neither of them knew about. Griff shows up and takes her back to Strawberry Sands.
Jesse has done it again.....weaving a strong story of character and learning to trust. Finding worth in who you are and not your bank account. If you've read the other books in the series, you were waiting to finally hear Chi and Griff's story!
Griff is an ex-lawyer and drug addict who is now a short-order cook for the diner owned by Chi. No one in town knows his background. Griff has been in love with Chi for several years, but she wants to see him only as a friend and her cook because she thinks she wants a big-city business man. When she suddenly announces she is immediately closing the diner to move to Chicago to live with a supposedly rich lawyer who says he plans to marry her someday, Griff is devastated. Will Chi ever realize her true happiness lies closer to home?
This is book 5 in the Strawberry Sands series. They have all been good, but they just keep getting better and better. They do stand alone, BUT it is best to read them all in order since they give the backstories of many of the characters.
This is a wonderful story, full of humor, wonderful characters, and great Christian principles such as redemption, forgiveness, overcoming mistakes, and “new man in Christ.”
I received a copy of this book from the author. My review is voluntary and unbiased.
Just when Griff buys the property to expand the diner Chi tells him she's closing it. She's moving to Chicago to live with James, the sleazy lawyer she met at the diner. Chi believes James plans to marry her, giving her the respectability only money can buy. When she sees James with another woman she realizes her mistake and confronts him. As the situation escalates Griff appears and takes Chi to a cabin near Strawberry Sands. After that ordeal Chi gradually realizes that money isn't the path to respectability. With Griff's help Chi focuses on God and gradually learns of Griff's affection for her.
This story also tells more of Rodney, Becky's friend from prior books. Can Rodney overcome his parents actions?
There is a satisfying happy-ever-after for Griff, Chi and Rodney.
I recommend this clean, inspirational Christian story. The strong characters and good Christian beliefs and actions make it a story worth reading.
I was given an ARC of this story from the author but this review is my honest opinion given voluntarily.
Well, this is my favorite too. I've said that about the last 3 books in this series, but it just is. I've been waiting for Griff and Chi to get together, and they finally get their happy ending here! Griff is so tough on the exterior, but he's so sweet and kind and thoughtful on the inside where it counts. He's willing to wait for Chi, but she gets swept away by a big city lawyer since she thinks money will make her happy. She finds out that he's not only married, but he's got at least one other woman on the side. I love that Griff rode his motorcycle all the way to Chicago to rescue Chi after finding out that the man was married. Then the forced-proximity of Griff's little cabin allows Chi to see Griff who he really is. She remembers that her worth isn't found in money, but it's in Jesus. A tragedy happens to a character in this book that may be a trigger for some (suicide), so just be aware. That character also struggles but finds that he has worth because of Christ. I highly recommend this, but you need to read the first 4 books in the series first.
This is the story I've been waiting for. Griff has had feelings for Chi since coming to town but Chi wants a man with money and prestige. She thinks that's what she needs to feel like she has worth after things she did in the past. When the lawyer who comes to the diner starts flirting with her she thinks things are going to be better for her. He asks her to move to Chicago and she agrees. When she gets there she finds things are not as they seemed. Luckily Griff followed her to give her some news he found out. After rescuing her from a bad situation they leave on his bike. When a storm comes in they stop at a cabin he owns until it blows over. While he finally has her alone he decides to be honest with her about his feelings and to do everything he can to convince her, she has worth and deserves love and happiness. Can he convince Chi to give them a chance? What will happen when they get back to Strawberry Sands?
I LOVE this series! "There I Find Trust" is a sweet, emotional story about Chi, the owner of a diner in Strawberry Sands, and Griff, her cook. Griff has hidden his feelings for Chi for the many years they've worked together in the diner. Chi is determined that she would become successful no matter what she had to do. She just didn't understand the definition of true success. One day Chi announces some shocking news and Griff's world is shattered; but when he hears from God, he goes and rescues Chi's life. Both Chi and Griff have secrets, but as they come to know each other, can their world and lives become one? Will Chi understand her true value and that for every decision she makes, there are consequences? A sweet, clean, love story with a HEA that I highly recommend. I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have voluntarily given my honest opinion in this review.
Chi is sure wealth and social standing can give her the future she has always wanted. Life with her rich lawyer boyfriend will bring her respect and admiration instead of the life she ran away from when she came to Strawberry Sands. Grif knows better. Everything Chi wants is what he left behind when he rode his bike into town and began cooking at the diner. If only she looked at him like she looks at the slimy lawyer. If Grif can’t have her at least he can save her from the situation he finds her in and take her back to safety in Strawberry Sands. After that, it’s up to God.
I loved Chi and Grif’s story. It was so beautiful and heartfelt. I also like the secondary story with Grif and Rodney that weaves in and out through the book. I’m hoping we see more of Rodney in the future. I received a free copy but my review is honest and voluntary.
Griff finally closes a deal on a house instead of living above the diner that Chi owns. Griff is the short order cook and he has always had a soft spot for Chi but somehow she hasn’t seen that and she is dating a lawyer that comes into the diner every now and then! Her lawyer friend has actually just asked her to move to Chicago and live in his penthouse. She announces she is closing the diner that day. Griff thought she was making a huge mistake.
Griff is still mentoring Rodney but unfortunately Rodney just witnessed something terrible. Can Griff finally help Chi come to her senses and can he get Rodney on the right track? Lots of spiritual inspiration in this book. I honestly didn’t want it to end!
I received this ARC free from the author, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I loved that Griff finally has a chance to show Chi how much he loves her when he rescues her from a relationship with James, the rich lawyer, who has been misleading her and not letting her know that he is married. At least Chi finds out before James is involved in a tragedy. That tragedy helps Griff show Rodney who is the teenage son of James that God is in charge and loves him in spite of what happens. Chi starts to see Griff as a man she can trust and who will cherish her. I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy a clean, Christian romance with wonderful o. I love this whole series because each story revolves around the horses on Strawberry Sands. I received an ARC from the author and this is my voluntary and honest review. I enjoyed the audiobook narrated by Jay Dyess also. His narrations bring Jessie's books to life.
I have been holding my breath for Griff and Chi's story. I loved every minute of it, too. Griff was the perfect book boyfriend. He was quiet, unassuming, a good friend, and so much more. I also liked some resolution for Becky, too. I love a series that builds on the characters from other stories so you continue your "friendship" with them.
Chi thought she wanted someone who was successful and had lots of money but she found that when she got that, it wasn't really what she wanted. Griff had loved Chi for a long time but he waited quietly to let her decide what she wanted. Would she finally be able to see Griff for someone more than just a good friend and employee?
This story was full of Christian values and beliefs and was a clean read with real world issues like power, money, infidelity and death.
I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
This latest book in this series is about trust. I love how Jessie picks a theme and weaves insight into it. Trust is a strong bond between people and God. It is also a fragile cord that unwinds when someone breaks that trust. Chi has her hopes and dreams in “all the wrong places.” Grif has traveled that road and knows trusting the Lord and living as God wants you to is the best place to be. Chi races to Chicago to chase her dream life but comes up along the side of a healthy dose of reality. Grif is prompted by the Holy Spirit to seek Chi out and there is the beginning of forming that fragile bond of trust. Come along side of them and be apart of their adventure of finding trust, love, and God’s perfect plan for them. R. Fody October 4, 2023
Charlotte (Chi), the owner of the local bakery in Strawberry Sands, has been trying to escape her past and she thinks having money is the way to do that. Griff, a man with many hidden secrets, has been her cook for years and is always helping her out when it’s needed. When Chi falls for the wrong man and almost makes a huge mistake, Griff is there to help her pick up the pieces. It was nice to get a glimpse of Becky and her friendship with Rodney. They have been there for each other through more than what most teens should have to endure. This is a great story that reminds us of our values and that there are consequences for our actions. We are shown to remember that there is hope after betrayal and tragedy.
There I Find Trust~ Strawberry Sands Beach#5 By Jessie Gussman Just simply, brilliant! this has just shot straight to #1 as my favourite book in this amazing series! I just when I didn't think that Jessie could write anything better than the previous four books, along comes this one. Just one reason that Jessie is a no:1 author today:) It just felt like I was actually a resident of Strawberry Sands. This story is sweet, and dreamy which kept me glued to the pages all the way to the end! A wonderful clean Christian story that I strongly recommend, and cannot wait until the next, as we follow the fantastic residents of Strawberry Sand. Also, the covers are so pretty amazing and inviting too.
This book unpacks a lot of personal struggles for our main characters Griff and Chi along with some of our main side characters we’ve seen through out the series Rodney and Becky’s friendship has grown and the heart aches of their parents choices that effect them and how they are responding to them. Jessie illustrates with her stories the hand and blessings of God in the character’s life amongst all the struggles. She keeps it a clean read while touching on some of the harder subjects like the effects of an affair, suicide , homelessness etc. appropriately done that you can read as a family or book group and discuss the subjects as an option. I do wish some of the subjects and characters went into a little more detail/ depth about their experience . Overall a good read.
This is the 5th book in the Strawbery Sands Beach series by Jessie Gussman. I started reading the series because I am a librarian and "need" to be well-read, even though it is NOT what I typically read (historical Christian fiction or Christian non-fiction, Christian Living). These books are SO GOOD that I am now devouring them, reading this one in just a few hours!
"Funny, after she was done, she was smiling, not because she was happy for Rodney exactly, but because it felt good to be happy for other people. She supposed that was part of taking the focus off of oneself and thinking about others. She stopped seeing her own problems, when she put her focus on others."
These stories are sweet, funny, uplifting, and even deep. Enjoy!
This is an installment in the Strawberry Sands series and is best read after the first four books, although you could read it as a stand-alone book. The Great Pyrenees dog doesn’t make an appearance, but we do get to see a couple people from her Sweet Water Ranch books.
There’s a lot packed into this book, but if you want a succinct description it deals with faith in God and learning to trust again after betrayal. The characters are well-written, and I didn’t want to put the book down until I finished it.
Thank you to the author for giving me a chance to proofread the book, and I chose to leave an honest review.
I love this emotionally charged story of Griff and Chi! They have been in the background during the rest of the series and I am so happy they now get their own book. Griff is an amazing character. He is the epitome of “don’t judge a book by it’s cover”. He looks like a gangbanger but is truly a strong devout Christian. I love the spiritual lessons found in Jessie Gussman’s stories. Her characters preach a sermon just by trying to be their best selves. I love the lessons in this book specifically that ALL choices have consequences, that we must take responsibility for our own actions and that God is in the details of our lives.
Finally!!! Chi and Griff's story in the Strawberry Sands Beach series. Chi was blinded by her desire for security and recognition. She wouldn't allow herself to recognize the lying sleazeball lawyer for what he was, because his wealth seemed to offer what she wanted so desperately. And she couldn't recognize the man who would willingly provide all she desired, including love, because his appearance didn't fit with her perception of upperclass status. In the end, after deep soul-searching and a tragedy, they get their HEA. As with Jessie Gussman's other books, this is a sweet, clean story with thought-provoking foundational life lessons woven throughout. Highly recommend!
Wonderful addition to this series by Jessie Gussman. Griff has loved Chi since he rode into town on his motorcycle and started cooking for her in her diner. She grew up poor and felt looked down upon, now she wants security and prestige. She thinks she’s found it with the rich lawyer who sometimes comes to the diner. He asked her to move in with him in Chicago so she closes the diner and heads there. Things change quickly and Griff is there to rescue her. Lovely story about appearances not always been as they really are. *I received this book as an ARC reader and am leaving my unbiased review.
I have been watching Chi and Griff since the beginning of this series. Griff has loved Chi, but Chi has wanted something else. She didn't give Griff a second glance. I love that it took what it did for Chi to start noticing what a blessing Griff has been in her life. Griff has worked side by side with Chi since he rode into town and saw her working so hard. He has just shown up. I also love that he's everything she wanted, but didn't know it. Just a great inspiration. And I love that they took in and loved the orphan from all the mess Chi almost got involved in. What a blessing from tragedy!
