Having always been intrigued by humans, Amor grows restless in Mount Olympus. Garnering approval to take a vacation and live as a human for 10 days, he lands in Coal’s Lake.
Coming home after losing Pop, Eva is just there long enough to get Rusty’s in sellable condition so that she can return to her life in London.

This was only 98 pages but nothing Effie ever writes disappoints. We get a virgin Cupid who decides he wants to try out being a human and gets some lessons on sex from a mortal FMC. Perfect amount of spice and I was especially fond of the last smutty scene 🤣 can’t wait to read the full collection this is part of!

Amor is fascinated with humans and he wants to experience the life they live in so he gets permission to do so and When him and ave meet it's like love at first sight and things happen kinda fast after that don't want to give spoilers so just know there's some lessons that will be learned.🤭👀
When I say kicking my feet and giggling like a little girl🤭 Amor is adorable and sexy at the same time, the amount of highlights I have in this novella is wild lol.
" A thousand men could fu$k you in the a$$ , but I'm the only one who can make you scream up in the stars." and he mean it literally.

4.5 stars! I read this book as an ARC, courtesy of Effie Campbell herself, though all thoughts feelings and opinions are my own. I have not been paid for this review.
The plot - this book is what happens if Cupid isn’t actually the baby cherub we all know him as? What if he’s a tall ripped God of Mount Olympus, like Zeus? (But not Zeus because he’s a dick) Cupid, or Amor, wants to go visit the humans, so he does. He meets and falls for Eva, our FMC. She’s just come home to Coals Lake after her grandfather passed away to debt and a bar, Rusty’s, that she’s determined to flip and sell to get back home to London. We have a fantasy romance, god X human, forbidden romance (a god… with a human?! Scandalous), and a sizzling sweet romance in novella format. Smut was a 3.5/5 on the spice scale, the flying scene was EVERYTHING.
The characters - for a novella, this was definitely something I worried about. It’s a spicy novella so character development and plotline can come second to the smut but in this case, Ms Campbell has found a way to combine it all! I truly cared for the characters and even the side characters were interesting enough to entertain potential spin offs.

1.) the fact the MMCs name is Amor?!! I freaking love it!!!
2.) he quite literally gave up the life of a God to be with his soulmate and holy crap!! It was insanely sweet!!!
3.) THE FACT THAT CUPID WAS ACTUALLY A VIRGIN!!!!! THE MOUTH ON THAT MAN WOULD HAVE ME THINKING OTHERWISE!!!!

So she’s a grumpy woman… why she was forced to come back home and deal with some things. He’s the inexperienced god who is on a “vacation” in her town. He is ready to give his entire life up for her. This book may be short but it’s not short on spice.

I’m not for the virgin trope, but since it was the MMC I’ll allow it. I’m also not for instalove, but, hey, this is a novella so we gotta get straight to the point.
There’s just something hot about a virgin MMC who wants to learn how to please his partner. Like no qualms about anything, just making them happy.
I mean, the spice here was just so hot. Who knew Cupid was a hot AF man now? Who knew anal could be so magical? 😂

Personally I will devour absolutely anything this author writes. I am so grateful to have found Effie’s books through TikTok last year🫶🏼
I know it’s January but this book definitely put me in my Valentine’s Day feels.. and why would that be you may ask? Oh because the MMC is Cupid of course😮💨

This is where he meets Eva who has just returned to Coal’s Lake after the death of her grandfather and has taken over his bar.
One thing you need to know about our darling Cupid Amor, he is in fact a virgin.. I know I know and as a result of this he asks Eva to give him “lessons” 👀
This is a short and steamy novella with also some cute moments thrown in. I mean it was practically adorable when Amor anonymously bid on himself in auction on behalf of Eva so she could win a date with him since he didn’t want to spend it with anyone else and he was aware she didn’t have the funds to bid on him😩.

On time and totally ad hoc with Valentine's Day just a week away, this novel is part of the Fourteen Shades of Red collection, 14 stories written by a different author.
From the cover I loved it, to the story, I liked everything!
And I had not read a story where the MMC was inexperienced in love and they had to teach him and I almost wanted to become the volunteer teacher of course.
Something that I loved too much is the name of the MMC: Amor, which means Love in Spanish and I totally loved that.
This story has what I like: he falls first, instalove and very hot, reverse grumpy - sunshine, dual POV, novella based on Greek mythology, so what more can I ask for.
I really enjoyed each page. Effie really knew how to narrate this story perfectly in a novella and she didn't lack anything. For me it was simply brilliant.
I am infinitely grateful to the author @effiecampbell and @happilybookedpr for the digital copy and giving me the opportunity to give my free opinion.
I recommend it? Yes absolutely!

Amor may be Cupid, but his lack of experience in the love department is the laughingstock of the gods. He wants the human experience and so he requests a vacation to the human world from Zeus. When granted he just so happens to land in Coal's Lake and stumbles upon Eva and her ramshackle bar...
I loved this novella! I am not one to typically read romance if it's not of the darker variety but if Effie writes it, I am immediately going to read it! This was such a fresh take on a romance, where the woman takes the wheel and shows the man what she wants. Amor was so cute and innocent; I found it so difficult not to fall for him!

This is a steamy novella perfect for Valentine’s Day. Amor is a God (Cupid) from Olympus and also a virgin who is curious on the way the mortals live. He convinces Zeus to let him go on a “vacation” to experience life as a mortal. He didn’t expect to meet Eva, the angry bartender, whom he becomes obsessed with. His obsession with her leads him to convince her to teach him lessons on the art of passion and pleasure not knowing who he truly is. Neither of them expected to find love but it isn’t all hearts and arrows but that doesn’t stop them from needing each other despite the rules of the Gods.

I ate this up, I can’t even think right 😂
Cupid isn’t a baby with a diaper and a bag of arrows. He is Amor with golden arrows, black wings, and did I mention a virgin?

The chemistry between both characters was so good! I loved that the MC is a virgin and Eva gets a chance to show him the ropes. He is utterly obsessed with her and I’m all for it. Novella’s always leave me wanting more and this was no different 😂

So two angels and Cupid walk into a bar… I just had to finish this in one setting. It was perfect from the start! Who would have thought you’d go from wanting Cupid to hit you with an arrow, to hitting you from…you know.
Corrupting Cupid was a short novella that packed all the spicy and a fantastic plot! Not to mention one of my favorite tropes. Also including doing some crazy stuff while flying 😮💨 thank you Effie for another awesome book!! I’m definitely in the mood for some corrupting now.

Short and Steamy novella perfect for Valentines! I love the MMC! Honestly him trying to figure out how humans live was so cute!! Also who wouldn’t want Cupid falling for them??🤭 I will definitely read a whole book just about this couple!

Effie Campall has fast become one of my favourite writers and this book will be added to one of my favourite this year!!

When you read anything written by this Author you can guarantee two things...
One.. its going to be one heck of a ride..
And two... bring a fan cause it's going to get HOT!
Author Effie Campbell has this incredible talent of picking you up and abruptly dropping you into these intense scenes.
Her knack at describing every detail and emotion has you immediately in a chokehold.
Even with the short and spicy stories there's still plenty of plot.
Who can take a v!rgin Cupid and make it work... she can.
The FMC is a total baddie and I LOVE that she takes the lead!
And that air scene... sheeewwww.
If you love Monster romance, small town spicy romcoms, or just a short and spicy read this books for you!

This Cupid novella was a fun and spicy Valentine’s Day read! I think this is the first book that I’ve read with an inexperienced MMC and experienced MFC. Don’t worry- what he lacks in experience he makes up for in enthusiasm, and he is a quick learner 😉. I was so excited to read my first Effie Campbell ARC of 2024 as a street team member, and I can’t wait to share more of her books!

Okay for starters I am not a huge fantasy fan. I haven’t been able to really get into many of them. This novel however was pretty amazing. I will definitely classify this as a smutty fantasy romance. Amor and Eva were kinda cute all throughout. I hope there is more to there story at some point. If you’re into fantasy smut definitely give this one a read!

I had the wonderful opportunity to receive an ARC copy of Corrupting Cupid by Effie Campbell in exchange for an honest review.
And let me tell ya…. This was a spicy novella, I finished reading it front to back in a little over an hour. I wish it was more! I found myself immersed in the story, falling for the characters, experiencing all the feels. It had a good amount of spice and emotions. The MMC was absolutely adorable (and he was FREAKING CUPID). I loved the grumpiness of the FMC.
This is a perfect read for Valentine’s Day and I will probably be reading again on the day of. It put me in the right mood for the coming holiday! 😅 5 / 5!!

This book was hands down absolutely amazing, I honestly wish it was longer. Once I started this I couldn’t put it down, I read this so fast in one sitting.

Cute and spicy short read.
I liked that the story wasn't just spicy scenes: there was grieving about the loss of a parental figure and finding a new place to belong. I enjoyed it!
