Adeline and Thierry’s story is a fun introduction to Cavalier Cove and Carrie Lomax’s new series. Adeline was banished to Cavalier Cove after a failed engagement and after living there for three years, she is still an outsider. Having an uncle who is an Excise Man and who expects her to spy on the smuggling community (in exchange for paying her rent) is only part of the reason.
This lighthearted, quick read will transport you to a quaint town and the caves of Cornwall’s coast where you will enjoy intrigue, betrayal, attack geese, heartwarming friendship, steamy chemistry, and a lot of eggs. I loved the interactions between Ada and the townspeople, and how they rallied around her when she needed them. They demonstrated the true meaning of friendship. I thoroughly enjoyed the epilogue and hope to see Remy’s story soon! Thank you to Carrie Lomax for an Advanced Reader Copy. I voluntarily read the story and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Ada has been abandoned by her family as a disgraced woman who anticipated her vows and was humiliated by the betrothed and her family! Ada uncle pays her rent in exchange for her spying!
The irony is when actually has the legendary Thierry tied to a chair he kisses her and enlists her help! They both have secrets and think ill of each other but Ada doesn't give him away even when she feels betrayed!
This charming scoundrel is ready to settle down can Ada be the one he chooses!? Bravo between the laughter and the steam a great read!

What an excellent short read. The characters drew you in from the start. Ada and Thierry are perfect for each other and had me smiling with their antics. I only wish the story could have been longer. If you like short reads with great characters, a bit of adventure and steam then you will love this!!! It will not disappoint!!

How to resist a handsome smuggler? When Ada caught Thierry she knew he was a smuggler and had every intention of turning him in, but one kiss from the charming scoundrel, and she was helping him instead. These two made a delightful couple with smoking hot escapades. A wonderful little short story of love and adventure, and a great introduction to a new series!

This story which takes place in Calvalier Cove and introduced us to Adriane and Thierry was a lovely captivating short story. It had suspense with intrigue. And oh such steam! Which all ends happily! I highly recommend this Novella!!

This is a lovely and spicy story about a forgotten, “ruined“ woman and a hot French smuggler. Not only does he fall hard and fast but he puts her misogynistic uncle in his place! Carrie always does a fantastic job of pulling the reader into the story. Adeline and Thierry are realistic and endearing characters. R. K. Carulli
