Castlestone: Skyview

Rate this book
Name of the Wind meets Game of Thrones.

In the shadow of Castlestone, the tallest tower stands witness to an age-old world threatened by the unyielding might of the Undying King. Amidst the chaos that engulfs the realm, the fiery roar of dragon abominations splits the sky. Here, a young man, thrust unwittingly into a fateful role, awakens to a power that has slumbered for epochs.

Mystery and intrigue weave their embrace around 'the boy.' Join Brecken, a character forged by the fires of destiny, as he embarks on a quest to unveil the enigma that unfurled atop Skyview tower. Threads of history, some as old as the very stones of Castlestone, beckon him to unlock the secrets that lie hidden beyond the multiverse and time itself.

Inspired by the epic intrigues of 'Game of Thrones,' the lyrical storytelling of 'Name of the Wind,' and the enchanting charm of 'Harry Potter,' ' Skyview' welcomes readers into 'The Dragon's Promise Saga.'

Meet M Wagner, my mythical companion in this grand adventure and a long-lost friend. To safeguard the privacy of my family, I've opted for this pen name.

My spouse and I, proud parents of three children, embrace the tranquility of country life. Juggling full-time work, we find joy in extending a helping hand to others. The Dragon’s Promise Saga was written late at night and in early mornings, truly a labor of love.

As a child of the eighties, my fascination with castles knew no bounds. Castles were my world, until the enchantment of Harry Potter unfolded in my later years, reigniting my passion for reading.

My academic background in hard sciences has left an indelible mark on The Dragon’s Promise Saga's magic system. Drawing inspiration from the elegance of mathematics, chemistry, and physics, the series endeavors to blend science into the fabric of magic, with a touch of humor that I hope fellow academics will appreciate.

My profession grants me the privilege of traveling to the United Kingdom, where I indulge in exploring ancient castle ruins. Not the pristine and picturesque ones, but the timeworn, fragmented remnants that resonate with history. These visits become profound influences that unfold further in the series.

Only in the last decade have I truly rekindled my love for reading. Among my cherished literary companions are "Name of the Wind," an all-time favorite, along with "The Game of Thrones Series" and the magical world of Harry Potter. I am profoundly grateful to the creators of these masterpieces for sharing their gifts with the world.

While my works may not amount to much, I embarked on this writing venture with a heartfelt purpose—to craft something meaningful for my children. Woven into the fabric of the narrative are inside jokes, tales of our escapades, and life lessons. As the children mature, my hope is that they'll come to appreciate and derive wisdom from these easter eggs.

I truly hope you enjoy unravelling the mystery of what happened to Brecken atop Skyview tower that fateful day. Wish him luck. I know what’s coming and he’s going to need it.

The beginning of an interesting story

I was intrigued by the story and wanted to read more and the book was finished before I even realised it. If you enjoy short stories with dragons and magic, then this is a book that you should read.

excited for more

This is a complex story but not as long as I would’ve liked. I’m excited to read the next book though. The main character has a lot going on and it ends on quite the cliffhanger, so just be ready for that if you don’t like books with cliffhanger endings.
