Wanted a break from middle eastern politics and took up, what can be most aptly described, as a truly treacherous series of side quests. Transglobe expeditions, rediscovering lost cities, and summitting Everest thrice, and I’m tired after walking to pick up nespresso pods?

I enjoyed this compilation of Ranulph’s adventures but was disappointed that a book detailing the adventures of an explorer contained no maps.

I haven't read any of his other books so really enjoyed what felt like a highlight reel of them. I particularly enjoyed his early life bits. Well written and interesting.
