Omegas are to be cherished, loved, protected . . . . . . not sold to cover their parents’ debts.
But that’s what happened to me.
Now, I’m in the middle of a heat I didn’t want—nor was I ready to have. The scent of my dead alpha surrounds me, while a pack that hates me offers assistance that I’m sure is laden with strings.
Which leaves me with only one option.
I’ve gotta run.
**Author's Note** This is the second novel in the Choose Me omegaverse world. It is a standalone and the books can be read in any order. However, there are crossover characters from previous stories that may be further explained if read in order.
Hailing from eastern Pennsylvania, R.A. Alyse is a lover of books that feature spicy romance. Although she has a soft spot for why-choose and omegaverse, she has dabbled in a few other sub-genres within her writing. She strives to fill those books with love, spice, magic, and maybe even a knot or two.
R.A. Alyse enjoys searching out yard sales, going bowling or playing games with her kids, and reading in her free time. Her favorite color is purple (any shade!) and her favorite flower is a sunflower. If she isn't hunched over her keyboard, feverishly trying to get more books written, you will most likely find her hanging out with her family and their growing of number of pets.
I was insanely skeptical of how the FMC could ever be redeemed after the way we saw her behave in previous books, but by the end I really did love her and my heart hurt for all she went through. Definitely a must read!!
I enjoyed this omegaverse RH romance the way I enjoy a soapy Harlequin Presents romance. The characters didn’t feel like real people, the character/relationship development was choppy at best, and the story was weirdly paced (the FMC was barely in the first 30%) but the soapy drama really got me. Not a fan of many of the kinks, but I just had to keep reading this one.
Oof, started off with miscommunication. I liked how Drew got to go back home and sort things out with Riley before having to call for help. Drew came first in this one like he wanted. Strong on the MMM with Hilary coming second. Time skips with a short chap on how they felt etc. kidnapping from the same guy in the last book, murder, working in a brothel and miscommunication all round. Add in shitty parents. I did like Hilary and Drew together.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
At the beginning you see Drew (beta) overhearing a conversation of an omega woman yelling at his pack of alphas (the ones he's been dating) telling them that she refuses to have any other betas/omegas/anyone else and that it's her or nothing. He freaks out and leaves. The girl (Hilary) sounds entitled and snobby. Drew goes home to his family where he finds his sister locked in her room over something, he's depressed. Cut to Hilary - her parents decided to sell her to an awful alpha. She tries reaching out to the guys she was rude to and they said no. TBH it was terrible writing. I had NO sympathy for Hilary and I know the book is supposed to be about her??? At that point I couldn't find any sympathy for her. Not enough to keep reading.
Okay so here's the deal, I won a contest right after I finished Riley's Storm and had the absolute pleasure of being able to choose one of the already published books, or this as an ARC and I need you to know that I took this arc faster than you could imagine.
First of all Drew, what a lil sweet cinnamon roll, his tough outer rings were necessary to protect his soft squishy center from all of the sadness he dealt with on the daily. Feeling like you are not a priority or important is one of the worst things that can happen to a person, and unfortunately it can cause us all to lash out and run from something without all of the facts. .. Which leads us to Hillary. I didn't want to like Hills, she was awful in Riley's Storm and I hated her. But after finding out more about her situation I realized she was in the same boat as Drew. A cinnamon roll using her tough layers to protect the gushiest parts of her within. She was horribly abused not just by her parents but by the man they sold her to, and after her first heat she ran too. Thinking the worst.
The Alphas in this story were lovely, not the main characters at all thankfully, because I felt like this really needed to be about Drew and Hillary, and it was. They presented in the story as a trio of loveable dominants and made sure the focus was always on their submissives' needs. As they should.
I can't wait to read all about Destiny, and Peyton in their own stories, and to find out about what goes down with the investigation into Hillary's parents.
If you get the opportunity to read this, I hope you'll love it as much as I did.
Run Omega Run is the second installment in the Choose Me Omegaverse series. All the books in the series can be read as stand alone stories, however I highly suggest reading the books in order. There is a large amount of plot crossover in this shared world, reading them out of order will cause spoilers for past books as well as some key point confusion.
I always go into a second book in a series expecting the book to closely resemble the style of the first book, similar plot, similar character development, especially in a shared world, shared side characters series. Run, Omega Run blew that theory out of the water. Yes, this book has elements from the first books plot and some of the characters were in the both books. That is where the similarities end. I liked how this book started to answer some of the questions that I still had after reading the first book in the series, actually wrapping the entire plot of this book around the answers. I enjoyed the emotional roller coaster Hillary took me on, changing my opinion of her from the first book. The dark plot twists were unexpected, but needed. Alyse does a remarkable job, again, giving the characters depth and personality, and putting together the perfect, unexpected packs together in this omegaverse. At the end of this book I still had questions that were not answered, but I am pretty sure they will be answered in the next book in the series. Overall I found this to be an entertaining read with some suspense, a good deal of trauma, and a lot of spice. It does touch upon some dark trauma, be sure to check trigger warnings. I recommend this read to all readers who enjoy Omegaverse Romance, Why Choose Romance, and those who have read the first books in the Choose Me Omegaverse Series.
I'll be honest, I groaned when I saw who our FMC was. Hillary? Not a huge fan of her after the epic entitled melt down she had in Riley's Storm. BUTTT I trust R. A. Alyse not to leave me disappointed, and boy did she deliver. We delve right into learning what went wrong with Drew and his pack, then also learning that Hillary is in fact their omega. Que the hesitation. But then, we start to see the glimpse into Hillary's life: mommy and daddy aren't so well off as we (and Hillary) had been led to believe. Que the interest. Hillary's story tangles with Drew's far more than we realized (and by association also Riley) and perhaps we've all passed judgement on Ms. Priss a little too quickly. And damn it I really didn't want to like Hillary, but R.A. Alyse wrote such a compelling redemption arc twisted around our Drew and Hillary that you can't help but to fall in love with Hillary for all the same reasons as Drew. Sure, the alphas love them too, but this book was *really* about Drew and Hillary overcoming their own initial hang ups and learning to be loved the way they deserve.
This is a sweet OV story but it has darker, grittier elements. Read the TW! While the FMC is a brat in the beginning, and in the previous book where she’s a minor antagonist, we get to see why she behaves that way and then we get to see her grow and change for the better. She does go through some really hard things along the way, but the MMCs are a good balance of sweet/loving but also not putting up with anyone treating them poorly. They all make some mistakes but I loved the communication that happens once they all take a moment. There is plenty of spice and while Hilary is the only FMC, all of the pack is ✨together✨ with some very fun and spicy scenes. This is a standalone and can be read on its own, but I recommend starting with Riley’s Storm to get a more complete understanding of some of the characters and dynamics.
First I would like to say that I think the author has potential and has some new fresh takes on the omegaverse genre. This book just wasn't it for me. I was so confused at the beginning because it was focused on a male beta. (Not what I was expecting from the blurb). I did not read the first book, but it is marketed as a standalone. So I'm expecting an omega story and then its all about a male beta okay, and I guess I'm dumb because it took a while for me to understand that the b-tchy female antagonistic omega from the opening chapter would be the FMC. I kept waiting for a different one to show up. The personality flips are instantaneous. The forgiveness is instantaneous. I just didn't buy into it.
Oh my goodness, does this book take you on a wild ride. After spending the last book (which you don't have to read before this, but defiantly recommend you do), I was not a fan of our FMC Hillary. But boy does R.A. Alyse do such an amazing job writing this characters redemption.
Was I firmly not a fan of the FMC after the last book? Yes Was I super curious to see where this story would go? Yes Was I ready to throw hands with the author after what she did yo my best girl Hillary? Ohh 100%
This book was amazing, funny, heart wrenching, loveable and it very much delivers on the spice and HEA. Run to read it, you won't regret it!
Didn't really feel like an omegaverse at all or like a cohesive story. To me, it felt like two separate stories combine unto one. Additionally, the omega came around 30% into the story, and the beta was basically treated as the omega. Also, there was barely any description of the characters at the beginning, which made it difficult to visualize it. This story could have easily been a beta/alpha MMMM
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️|🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️.75 This story was a good Omegaverse read. I did wish the story had more depth but the character development was good. I think the blurb did not do the story justice to make you want to read but it’s definitely worth a read. I loved that this story was sort of a second chance romance. Also the spicy scene was good and dirty!
I would recommend as a series read but would say to start with the first book ! 💖
It says it can be read as a standalone, but I'm so lost in this disjointed plot that I can't bring myself to continue. Too much going on from too many angles in a world I'm unfamiliar with. Also, I thought Drew was a girl at first, because he didn't read "male" in my head. I didn't read the first book in the series because I don't prefer FF in my reading tastes, so I won't be continuing.
The first impressions of Hilary were way off and I love that she was able to apologize and mean it to help heal the hurt she’s caused. Poor thing. I felt so bad for her after one glimpse of her father.
I definitely understand what it’s like to feel undeserving of love and kindness, and at times I shed tears for her. The men in this story weren’t perfect either but they were good men.
"Run, Omega, Run" is a very spicy Omegaverse romance with a lot going on. Pack Trinity is still trying to build itself and figure out how everyone fits together throughout the book. It takes a minute to meet the FMC and understand her, but if you give the story time to develop, it's an enjoyable, rich, dark, spicy omegaverse. A lot of plot and spicy happens in a relatively short amount of book. Can see where the other books in the series weave in.
While it can definitely be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading Riley's Storm, mainly so you can get the background story for Hilary. Hilary is truly wonderful in the end, but someone I wanted to hate for everything she put everyone else through. Follow her adventure of love, and all the crazy shenanigans she has to go through to get there. With some good spice 😁🔥🔥🔥
Girl, what??? This one left me baffled, honestly. How do we go from a spoiled omega, to a kidnapped and brutalized omega, to a runaway living in a "brothel" omega?? Where did she get the money to fly off to Europe if her parents were broke and "sold" her and these men weren't her pack? I had to DNF this because this was just *too* much and very Wattpad-esque.
This is the first omegavsrse where I don’t like the fmc that much. Like I forgive her for her behavior and attitude but I don’t like her that much. This book was really confusing in the beginning. This was a quick read but the plot isn’t great and the beta forgave them too easily. I felt bad for her situation but her first impression gave me an ick this book is kinda messy.
This is the second book in the Choose Me Omegaverse series but they are stand alone. I have not read the first book but I had no problem following along with the story. But I am definitely going to go back and read it. It goes without saying, this book is super spicy. I love all four MMC's. They all bring a different dynamic to the relationship. At the beginning, Hilary is absolutely insufferable. Once you see what her life was like and the obstacles she has to overcome, I found myself rooting for her. I can't wait to read the next book!
After the first book I didn’t think Hillary could be redeemed but once you really get to know her and why she behaved the way she did it makes sense. She’s not cold or ruthless like I had first imagined. This book really answered a lot of questions about the first book and now I’m dying to read the next one & im curious who it’s about! Great job R.A! Amazing book!
It wasn’t until half way through the book that I felt anything positive toward the FMC, and that was only due to the outlook of one of the MMC. I didn’t enjoy the timeline of growth of the FMC, it showed no merit to her character, by the last quarter it got better.
the book was okay, I loved how all the guys love each other and loved the fmc killed Alpha Brown everything was going great until you lost me when she became a sex worker. That’s when I dnfed the book.
Full of action and romance and amazing character growth. This book, like the rest of the series, is a whirlwind of a ride and will keep you turning pages until you're finished, and will leave you craving more
I was so excited to read Drew's story and it did not disappoint. This was not what I was suspecting from the little snippets of Drew we get in Riley's book.
A mid angst action story with graphic scenes and more and more plot and character development! This has been my favorite book of the month! Brat to softie… it’s amazing
