This was an ARC copy recieved from Booksirens.
I am leaving a voluntary, unbiased review.

Not really sure what the point of the title is. . .
But the story was really good.
It's a murder mystery with romance.
Also, has to be said, I hated the epilogue!!!!
My advise to the author, for what its worth,. . .
Get rid of it. It was just a really bad excuse to add some bad anal sex into an otherwise great story.
Three and a half stars.

4-star Review of Stolen From My Billionaire Boss by Jennifer Rivers
Audio review:
Jennifer Rivers is a new author to me as are narrators Gideon Frost and Allie MartinaThis was a gripping murder mystery with a side of romance.
Having recently graduated college Erin Summers was looking for a job when she applied to Damon Clark’s company. He is the older brother of her best friend and someone she has always had a crush on.
When their small town becomes the scene to numerous murders, the town is in lockdown. I’m not a huge fan of age gap romance but the tension between Erin and Damon sizzled as they worked together to hunt down a killer.
Both Gideon and Allie’s performances were good, they did justice to the characters and the story that Ms. Rivers wove. Not only were their voices easy to listen to bur they brought all the drama and tension to their performances.

This was an enjoyable read that was well written. It’s a murder mystery romance and I’m not sure the title suits the story though. I didn’t get the feeling that Damon the main male character was a billionaire at all throughout the story however I loved the way he supported Erin. If you like an age gap, best friends brother and boss/office romance than you might enjoy this one.

This was... an okay read. It wasn't too bad, it just needed better development for the outbreak of murders happening; since that will be playing a key role for our main characters Erin Summers and Damon Clark. Erin has returned to her hometown of Aubridge with a degree in psychological behavioral analysis. She goes back home with her parents and her big brother Ellison, who is a security officer for Damon at his high tech security firm. Erin is 26 and needs a job. Her BF Cara is sister to Damon. So there's history there. Damon is 41, very wealthy and lives next door to Erin's parents house. Erin does get a job with, you guessed it, Damon. An attraction builds. Some spice happens between our main couple.🔥🔥

Not sure how at one point Erin drives home, having been to a bar, had some drinks and Damon still let her drive. It doesn't matter if he follows behind her in his vehicle. You leave her car behind. You drive her home Damon.🙉 The perpetrator is running amuk in this town. Leaves notes for Erin. Watching her. Knowing. Fixated on her. Erin and Damon, who suffers from PTSD, he's an ex Navy Seal by the way, seemed to be spinning their wheels to try and find out who this person is. But they never really moved the story along much. It got stuck at several points. Going over the same information. And no one ever saw anything. Not one print. DNA. Nothing. Well, some police were involved, but still. Red herrings. Oh yeah. But I still guessed who it was. It was obvious. But Erin didn't see?🤷🏻 Where are those profiling skills girl? She gets kidnapped and Damon has to get her back. The clock is ticking.🕰️🕰️ How will this end? I won't spoil it. Overall 3.7 stars. I would still recommend. Enjoy.✌🏼

☠️Thank you for an early read via Bookfunnel. This is my honest critique of the story I read.☠️

Hang on because once you start this book you won’t stop until the last page has been turned. Damon sexy as all get out billionaire, former military, dangerous when needed, willing to protect those he loves and hiring his little sister friend is both a curse /blessing because keeping things professional just got harder. Erin is a sweetheart growing up in a town where everyone knew everyone, no one locked their doors, finishing college wanting to get life started but can’t because there is a serial killer out on the lose just killing at random causing a panic throughout the town and the only job, she could get was working with her best friend’s billionaire brother. Despite him being much older than her, that didn’t stop the magnetic pull between them although they tried keeping it professional the harder, they tired the stronger the pull between them grows but so do the killings in their town. But little do they know that she has met the killer he is hiding right in plane sight no older than her and now she is in his sights why will they find out, will they be able to protect her, why is he killing women, will they save her in time, will they be honest about their feelings or will this push them to admit what they feel for one another, and can they find happiness after so much hurt cause by another?

Stolen from My Billionaire Boss

Tense, mysterious, nicely heated, and sure to keep you guessing “Stolen from My Billionaire Boss” is a riveting, slow burn to flaming, age gap romantic thriller! The plot is well drawn with plenty of characters who COULD fit the bill as the suspected serial killer, and I had the best time trying to mentally eliminate them as the story progressed! When push came to shove, was I right? Alas no, but the journey through the clues, the characters, the scenes and scenarios had me totally immersed in this story from beginning to end! What added tremendously to my fun and pleasure was the absolutely top notch standout fantastic narration! Both narrators did an amazing job in selecting character voices, performing those characters consistently throughout, and clearly capturing and conveying through inflection and vocal nuances exactly what the characters were feeling at any given moment! Narration of this caliber truly breathes life into a story and leaves no doubt that it IS the author’s vision coming to life. I loved everything about this one! Five fantastic stars!

Kudos to the author. In an over-abundance of billionaire bosses genre, this story stands out. In Stolen From My Billionaire Boss, a 218-page billionaire mystery romance, I found a pleasurable evening read. The cover is what captured my attention. The blurb is mildly interesting but seems a bit off from the actual book. No matter, once you start reading you're hooked. As other reviewers mentioned, there are a lot of tropes going on here, but seriously, if there were as many billionaires in real life as there are in these books we would all be billionaires or at least married to one. The suspension of disbelief is a necessity when reading most books. I was surprised and delighted when as I read I realized there was a mystery going on. I was enjoying it so much that by 20% into the book I went from being an ARC reader to an owner. I continued reading the published version and not the ARC. This is the first book I have read by this author and have enjoyed it. The storyline was interesting, the writing compelling and there were a few mistakes, mixed-up words, grammatical problems and tense issues but they didn't deter this pedant from enjoying the read. After finishing this book I immediately purchased another book by Ms. River. I recommend this book, enjoy!

This is a great read. While this was billionaire, age gap, best friend’s brother romance, the addition of a serial unaliver sets this book apart from this standard trope. What I enjoyed about this book is that there was no internal angst between the MC’s or the typical third chapter break up with groveling. Now while I like good groveling now and again, a nice straightforward developing relationship is nice break.

This is the story of Erin and Damon. Erin moves back to her hometown which is currently being terrorized by a serial unaliver. She moves home with her parents and gets hired by a security company owned by Damon. The older brother of her best friend and who she had a crush on. As the story progresses, more bodies are found and the kill3r turns their focus on Erin.

The author did a great job introducing suspicious characters and the true unliver was a surprise. The writing was easy to read, and the story flowed. I really hope there is a story with Damon’s sister. She deserves one.

Plot 2/5

Spice 1/5

Writing 3/5

This book was good. It wasn't bad, but it also wasn't the best book I've read. I personally don't think the title fit the book. It's titled Taken by my billionaire Boss, but nowhere in the story does it mention him being a billionaire. Like to quote him directly "Man this is getting expensive" in reference to grocery bill that was less than $200. Billionaires can spare $200 here and there for some groceries. Also, the plot was very predictable. Mans was a CEO of a security firm and I figured out the killer before him. There were also some grammar errors.
**Spoilers below**
The blurb also doesn't fit with the storyline. She didn't move in with him until she found her own place, she moved in because they were dating.
Also wtf were the police doing in this town? Why didn't they solve anything? And why was her dad, a civilian out looking for her when my guy owns a whole ass security company?

After college, Erin Summers has returned home and is in need of a job. Applying at Security Operational Enterprises, she recognizes the owner as her best friend’s brother, Damon Clark. She is more than qualified and is offered the job. There is an instant attraction between them, but they know that it’s not a good idea to combine business with pleasure. Their small town has recently suffered several unsolved murders and when Erin becomes a target, Damon is intent on keeping her safe. As they work closely together, they can no longer deny the feelings they share. Damon, with his security business, is assisting local law enforcement in their search for the killer. He has several suspects, but is not leaving anyone out of the investigation. When Erin turns up missing, he believes the killer may have her. A twisted killer who has remained hidden in plain sight for too long. Will Damon find her before it is too late? This was a book that I thought would be different and yet it fascinated me. Billionaire was not a role in the book. Basically, the book was about a security agency in a town that had suddenly experienced a series of murders. The boss of the agency hires a recent graduate (girl next door friend) of a University program on profiling.

Despite a fairly large age gap the boss and the girl become romantically involved but she was kidnapped by the .... (spoiler alert) ...... She had profiled that the murders might be by a policeman and he was but had a couple of accomplices on the force. In her case it was not to kill but to make her his wife (he was going to kill ....spoiler alert ....). The story is how the case got solved.

The plot was well-developed and compelling. The characters were not as real as they might have been.

Audio review

This is the first book I have listened to by this author and hopefully the author Jennifer Rivers will do more .

Jennifer Rivers story is gripping murder mystery. Once you hear the audio, you’ll wonder why did the murders start. You think you know who the murderer is. But then someone else comes to your attention and you don’t know who it is.
Heroine is Erin. Damon is the hero .
Both Erin and Damon have known each other since they were young Erin is Damon sister best friend and Damon is Erin brother best friend. Erin comes back into the small town where she grew up. That’s when the murders start getting worse. At one point Erin is taken hostage Why ? Who is doing the crime. ? Grab it and see, you won’t regret it.

The narrators Gideon Frost and Allie Martina were fantastic. They brought the story to life and the characters. You were able to know who was who by their tone .

I'm not sure exactly what I expected but what I got was something really good! It wasn't too long of a read and it kept me interested throughout the whole thing. I love tropes and this book is full of them, so I was pretty into it. Damon and Erin had some great chemistry and there was a lot of danger and suspense happening to keep things intense. Erin and Damon have known each other for pretty much their whole lives, which is always something I enjoy as it helps make the romance between the characters seem less rushed.

I will say the epilogue was a little much for my taste. But if you're someone who likes extreme spice, then you would probably be just fine with it. I just found it to be a bit much and am a little unsure of the point of the epilogue, to be honest. It seemed like the spice was the only point of it.

🌟ARC Review 🌟
You know that feeling when you scream at the lead who is doing dumb things like exploring where the noise came from in a horror movie, and you keep screaming at them. Hoping they'll magically hear you and not venture out....

Reading this book gave me the satisfaction of being heard. It felt like I was screaming out things at her, and this time around she actually heard me and followed through.
This is not a slow-burn in anyway. The plot is well paced, slightly steamy but yet does not loose it's footing.

I would have given it a 5 star if it was more detailed on the account of how the main leads got together. It lacked the emotional turmoils and exploration that cements down a characters decision. A little more dwelling and internal mental struggles would have made this a 5 star rating for me.

Holy cow, that was terrible. The writing style was very "AI" , some sentences not making any sense at all. The epilogue at the end shouldn't have been written at all. The book literally starts with a few paragraphs trying to shove years worth of information into a few sentences. Then you're knee deep in whatever is happening, with most of it making very little sense. The story could've been good if this was some rough draft and not the final book. Also, nowhere in the book does it mention there's a single billionaire, nor is she stolen. She literally walks out of the building and gets in the kidnapper's van. I would suggest creating a bare minimum chapter or two before to establish the characters and how they know each other, then expand on the book having more than just some random murders happen before ending it. Just make it make sense, please.

I loved this book - I could hardly put it down. I agree with others that the title doesn't really fit the story and there is no indication at all that Damon is a billionaire, not living in his parent's old home - the house he grew up in. I did the love the plot and Damon and Erin. The plot is about a serial killer - but the book isn't the scary type, it's more a minor plot. This book had a lot of things happening and a couple of great families. There are a couple of things said that messes with the timeline, like Erin's brother always being friends with Damon - but he's not a lot older than Erin and Damon is a LOT older than Erin. I agree with the anal part at the end - didn't fit the rest of the book and really should be removed. The rest of the book was awesome, kept me up late finishing the book - I couldn't put it down!

Not how I wanted to start my year of reading...

The description was lacking, I hardly knew what anyone or anything looked like.
The pacing was horrid, there was no suspense.
The spice; positions, locations, and body parts don't make sense.
The ending was odd, the epilogue was worse.
And the kicker, the murderer was obvious (knew it was him as soon as he was introduced) and yet his motivations, personality, and function in the story was simplistic to the point that I have no idea what his job was, how he gained power over others, or what exactly his thoughts were behind what he did.
I have found 1970s Scooby Doo episodes more intriguing.

There's so much that doesn't make sense in this book!

A Spicy Mystery Romance

I enjoyed this story for the mystery, the spicy level, and the plot. As the story progress you start to figure a few things out, but there is a twist. I would recommend this book if that sounds like your type of story.
Erin has come back to her hometown. Damon lives next door and is Erin's best friend's, Cara, brother. After the two start working together they begin to notice each other and the romance progresses. Prior to Erin's return a serial killer is on the loose. As Damon and Erin try to figure it out, the killer is coming closer. Are they able to catch the killer before it's too late?

this is clickbait written by a bot/AI

If you’re looking for a boss romance or even a brother’s best friend or friend’s brother —there’s nothing like that here. No romance, no seduction. I think the horrible and bland “spice” maybe made up like 10% of this. There was no emotion. It was like a chronological list of things that happened. No explaining anything. Also the characters would say basically nothing to each other and communicate in their own heads. Such a weird and awkward read.

This book was entertaining, though the overall plot seemed a bit farfetched. The pace would speed up and slow down at random, too. The main characters seemed to need to be fleshed out some more before moving in together because that part of the plot didn't seem real to me. Despite this, I did enjoy the book and will be looking into her other works.

This was a mix of several popular themes: older brother of best friend, brother's good friend, a mysterious killing spree, and so on. The writing was good, the characters were fairly believable. It just wasn't special for me, but it might be just the thing for someone else. I wanted it to be more about the murders, but the author made it more about the romance. Different strokes for different folks.

This was such a good book that leaves you wanting more. Reading along with Erin and Damon as they try to figure out who is causing the trouble in their town, and as they fall in love had me all up in my feels. There were parts where I couldn't read fast enough so I could get to the next part, but there were also sections that I had to slow down because they required all of your attention. This is definitely a book that anyone who loves murder romance needs to read.

I really wanted this one to work for me, but it didn't. I didn't feel connected to any of the characters, so the story and intensity just kinda fell flat. I wish the characters had been fleshed out a lil more. The potential was there, but it just didn't quite ever get there for me...it did move very quickly. The spice was spicy. A lot was happening really fast, I just felt removed from it all somehow...idk.

All she wants is a job after college but it is very hard when a killer is about. She is glad to finally get an interview and he is nothing like she remembered him as. She gets the job but she feels a pull to him but the killer is aiming for more killings. What is going to happen next? Will they fall for each other? See how it will all go

This is the first book I have read by this author and it won't be the last. I found I was drawn into the story line. THe characters played well along side each other giving you the dynamics of the different families but also how close they all are. They are some twist in the story line that are good and how things can changed in a heart beat.

A heartfelt suspense romance with a HEA.

This had the makings of an interesting plot. Characters were enjoyable. The suspense was definitely filled with so many twist & holes that kept you guessing. Some aspects could have been more clearly investigated as Damon did run a security company. Book was more on the relationship aspect. The delivery could have been more fine tuned. All in all a book you will enjoy.
