The complete Blackwood demons paranormal RH romance trilogy in one box set!Book 1: Lessons in DarknessWhat do you get when you add one witch and five demons? An unexpected pregnancy. Three weeks before I came to Blackwood Academy, I made a mistake. Some would say I made five. But what happens on the other side of the portal, stays on the other side of the portal. Until my five mistakes show up on the first day of class. Everybody at Blackwood already hates witches, but no one quite like them. Vale is a bully, intent on taking my power little by little. Nicodemus is a charming, handsome Devil that doesn’t know how to channel his dark energy for good. Ares and Slade, well, they're twins—the sweet one and the sadistic one. And to top it all off, Zephyrus Storm is my professor. I didn’t just make five mistakes across the portal, I crossbred two worlds that were never meant to intertwine. When the Blackwood Five find out I’m pregnant, everything changes. And when the students find out, all hell breaks loose. This baby will change the world; if it doesn’t kill me first. Book 2: Bonds of the DamnedHow do you keep five demons and a witch from breaking the law?I rolled the dice and fate turned on me. A trip to the other side of the portal changed my life forever. One accidental pregnancy and a near-death experience later, I'm in the back of a car taking me straight to Stoneward Asylum with my five baby daddies right next to me. The prisoners don't take too kindly to new arrivals. I might only be here for a few weeks, but that's plenty of time to learn the ropes. There's a new demon squad on the playground and when they decide to challenge the Blackwood Five, all I can do is hope that we don't become chopped liver before our trial starts. The Council is determined to serve justice, but between the baby and the prison war, I don't know which will get me first. Book 3: The Price Of SalvationCan five demons and a witch change the rules of the realm? The baby is in distress and he's taking all of us with him. Trapped behind the walls of Bellevue Medical, all we can do is worry about what The Council will do when I give birth. Will they let us keep the child? Or will they take him away forever?Outside of the hospital, a rebellion is brewing. Word has gotten out about what The Council will do to our half-demon, half-witch child. My five baby daddies are on medical rotation trying to keep me and our baby alive, but when they aren't by my side, they're stirring up the crowd. The Council started this fight a century ago, but we're going to be the ones to finish it.
This was boring in a not good way. The premise was there and was interesting, different even. Yet the execution was a lot of telling with no excitement, character building or depth. No real world building either.
I didn’t really like Marylyn, or the guys honestly. The changing pov was hard to follow constantly forgot who was talking because every character has the same voice.
Idk I only finished because the baby was intriguing like live to see its powers but I really didn’t care for anything else.
The series was really hard to listen to. The virtual voice narration is awful. While the storyline was interesting, there was so much more potential that the author could’ve utilized as far as the relationship between the six main characters. Human narration would’ve done this book a heck of a lot more justice
If you are looking for a fast-paced, get to the end kind of book/series - this is it. There's not a ton of world building, not lots of character development/growth, and only a few spicy scenes thrown in (4/5 are in the first book).
This series has a lot of potential, but it seems to all be very rushed and "get to the point." The world building isn't the best, so it leaves you having to put it together as the story progresses. There really isn't much backstory - It just starts and goes until the end. The epilogue ties the story up in a nice bow, but it would've been nice for the epilogue to be the future and how the poly group are doing and how the world has changed from the terms in book 3 vs what they did after the very last chapter.
There were a few scenes in which the FMCs feelings didn't make a lot of sense bc she already knew what was being said and the love interests and her didn't make sense because there wasn't really much interaction and growth between them. The end was more rushed than the first 2 books. Honestly, the books just lacked depth. It's not a series that's gonna explain everything to you. It's really just a quick read.
