Delonte Payne doesn't trust many. Especially women. When his best friend is burned by a woman that he trusted enough to let into his home, Payne can empathize all too well. He's mad for his friend, and doesn't hesitate to make it known. Even when his anger is misdirected.
From the moment Pleasure locked eyes with the handsome stranger that was scowling at her, she was on high alert. The way he was glaring at her like he knew her put her into defense mode. Pleasure and Payne are like oil and water. They don't mix. But the attraction is uncanny. Will acting on the intense physical urges that they both feel be one of the biggest mistakes that either of them ever made? Find out in this novella.
Pleasure is a true ride or die for her friends. She is the definition of a loyal friend. Unfortunately, Pleasure learned the hard way her friends may not ride for her the same. Payne can’t stand a backstabbin’ and disloyal female. As far as he’s concerned, all women are untrustworthy. So, when Pleasure’s good girlfriend gets caught stealing $30K from his boy, he assumes she’s just as triflin’ as her homegirl and he automatically lumps her in the same Snake Azz Bytch category. Pleasure and Payne were like oil and water. When they first meet, they can’t stand each other. Between her slick mouth and his disrespectful comments, they were ready to take it to the streets and tussle. Once these two are able to get past their horrible first impression of one another, the unwanted attraction sets in, and they can’t keep their hands and mouths off each other. Just as Pleasure and Payne start hangin’ tough and getting to know one another, Gabby is attacked a second time. Oh, did I forget to mention she got that azz tagged for stealing Ace’s money? Oops! 😏😏😏 Welp, the honeymoon is officially over and the finger pointing begins. Will Pleasure and Payne’s loyalty to their friends come between them and end their short lived relationship? I loved this book. You really have to admire the loyalty and love Pleasure and Payne had for their friends. These characters were determined to stand on business and defend Gabby and Ace even when they’re actions were indefensible. In spite of their friend’s drama, Pleasure and Payne were able to put their differences aside and get to the HEA they didn’t know they needed.
Gabby was beyond a trifling snake and deserved everything that happened to her. It was an okay ready. I personally didn’t feel the connection between Pleasure and Payne at all. I would have actually liked a future scene of her being a speech pathologist. Also Adrienne’s situation wasn’t even needed 😒
The story was okay, had a good plot but some grammar issues. I liked that Payne was brutally honest. Pleasure, the main character, was impressive – she worked hard without resorting to tricks or gold-digging. Unlike her friend Gabby 😡 I don’t wish death on no one but I wouldn’t have been mad if Pleasure went to her friend Gabby and unalived her.
I enjoyed this quick read! Pleasure and Payne met due to a circumstance with their friends Gabby and Ace! An unfavorable circumstance! Payne was pretty nasty upon their first meeting and then realized he was taking out something that Pleasures friend Gabby had done to Ace! He called a truce and apologized and Pleasure quickly became friends! Then another situation happened and they bumped heads again! But this time Pleasure was the one who jumped to conclusions! Pleasure had to eat her words this time and she reached out to Pleasure but he really wasn’t trying to hear it!
Without giving too much away, this is really a story of forming your own opinion about people and not solely following everything your friends may say because they aren’t always right!
There are some grammatical errors, in the book…and I took off one star for that! But other than that I truly enjoyed this book!
This was such a good read! Pleasure is the definition of a loyal friend, always riding for her people—even when they don’t do the same for her. Payne doesn’t trust women at all, so when one of Pleasure’s friends steals from his boy, he instantly thinks she’s just as shady.
Pleasure and Payne clash hard at first—they argue nonstop and can’t stand each other. But once they get past the drama, the chemistry is undeniable. Just as things start going well between them, more trouble hits, and the blame game begins.
Despite the chaos, I loved how loyal both characters were to their friends. Even with all the drama, they found a way to make it work and got the happy ending they didn’t even see coming.

Payne came at Pleasure all wrong, just because they hangout birds of a feather don't flock together. What Gabby did was so wrong but what Ace did was worst. Gabby doesn't have good money management, how is it you take thirty thousand and you have only seven thousand left? Girl don't know you and your kids have got to move. She did Pleasure so wrong, she stood ten toes down behind your. Lost her sneaking link behind it. Elaine was a straight fool pressuring Payne into proposing. She far too gone. Pleasure and Payne sexing chemistry was fire. At least when got together, he told her the truth. They couldn't stop t
Who needs enemies when you have so-called friends. Gabby was the worst, and she definitely got her karma. Payne and Pleasure definitely started off as rocky. Payne grouped all women together, and that was a mistake on his end. Pleasure definitely put him in his place about it. I like the chemistry Payne and Pleasure have. I love that they both gave love a chance 💕 Natisha Raynor, you definitely did a great job with this book.
I enjoyed this book. Pleasure was a sweet girl but Gabby was trifling. When your friends want to to be in on some stupid stuff that should be a sign for you to cut them off. I always said a person that will do anything for money can’t be trusted. She truly deserved what happened to her. If I was Pleasure she would have got them hands after finding out about her dealing with her ex. This was definitely a 5 ⭐️ read. I couldn’t put it down
Gabby didn't care about anyone, but Gabby. Pleasure was wasting time trying to be her friend. She definitely found out in the end. Payne wanted to dislike Pleasure so bad because of her friendship with Gabby. He found out quick they were two totally different people. Their chemistry was amazing and they couldn't fight it. They fell in love, and realized they wanted to be together. Awesome read!
Payne doesn’t trust women and therefore has never made it official with anyone , this is until he meets pleasure his homeboy’s ex girls’ best friend . He falls first and hard for her and she reciprocate the same energy to him as she gets to know him more and more . No love is prefect or without drama but the chemistry between Payne and pleasure is unmatched. A entertaining short read!
Never say never to something you won't do because you never know what your destiny held. Happy that the BS Pleasure so called friend did, did not cause her to loose out on something real. Gabby was indeed a snake I don't condone violence but the way she was.living her life that would always be her outcome and to say she had kids Gabby only thought of herself so happy Pleasure found out everything and got her happiness as well as Payne dogging that bullet.
With friends like Gabby, you really didn’t need any enemies. She was really trifling and was a true snake in the grass. Pleasure and Payne got off on the wrong foot, but I’m glad that they were able to overcome their obstacles and get to their happily ever after. I’d definitely like to read more about this couple.
I have been reading Natisha Raynor’s books for years and I can truthfully say that they still grab my attention and hold on to it until the very last word. I’m glad that Payne && Pleasure got their HEA but Ace didn’t redeem himself from being a fuccboy in my opinion. This was a good standalone.
Natisha be coming through with short stories and I love this one. Yes Ace was dead wrong but Lawd Gabby was full of it and why her name had to be Gabby🤣. Payne came off so mean but Pleasure broke him down and quickly. I’m glad they got their happy ending and didn’t let others ruin their happiness in the end.
Really admire the respect loyalty and love they each have for their friends. Mariah was no push over and would curse you out in a swift mills second. Delont'e was differently Mariah equal on so many levels, never shy on letting anyone know how he feels about Mariah. Would like to know more about Ace and Gabby. Love HEA.
This was a good story. Pleasure’s friend Gabby was foul and money chaser for real. Betrayal over friendship and Pleasure helped her out the first time with no problem. I glad Payne found his person in Pleasure and stripping was a thing of the past once graduation happened for her.
Pleasure and Payne - neither of them was looking for a relationship but what’s meant to be will be. When a long time friend betrays her it took a lot for Pleasure to apologize to Payne. He was stubborn but they both knew that they were feeling each other. Love always wins.
I love reading first-time authors and this one did not disappoint. I am so glad, that Mariah never gave up on her dreams she did what she had to do and won all around. It's so good Delonte knew he had someone special in Mariah despite how they started off and their love he never judged her for the route she took to success.
This was a short, quick read with not a whole lot going on, but it kept me interested and I liked the chemistry between Pleasure and Payne. Gabby was foul as all get out and karma has a way of coming back. I'm glad that Pleasure didn't allow Gabby drama to keep her and Payne away from each other for too long.
When you're not looking, you definitely find someone that is the perfect fit for you. You can tell yourself a thousand times what you want to do with your life, but a love connection will shatter all those dreams and and possibly make you the happiest you have ever been.
Enjoyable read, hope to see more of Pleasure and Payne! I had a feeling Gabby was a snake! Ace turned out to be a better friend to Payne, than Gabby could have ever been! I liked that both Pleasure and Payne were goal oriented!
Great read ! Im so glad that Pleasure got rid of Gabby as a friend she grimy. Delonte and Pleasure was so cute together. They started hating each other and ended up together can't wait to see what's next from you!!
Tisha did real good with this book, I wanted to go through the book and beat Gabby’s ass myself. She got what was intended for her. I loved her and Payne’s chemistry. Very good read and thank you Tisha for doing this book through your most difficult time❤️
While riding for someone be assure they are riding for you. Everyone that smiles and laughs with you isn’t always your friend. People say oil, vinegar and water don’t mix however it makes a great salad dressing.
“Pleasure & Payne” was a decent read. Nothing spectacular. However, unfortunately there were quite a few punctuation, grammatical and editing errors. Excessive errors make it difficult to enjoy literary work.
Payne & Pleasure! I liked it! Two strong individuals surrounded by friends who have animosity between them. They both felt they had to choose sides. The chemistry between Payne and Pleasure was sweet.
