'The Capo' is the second book in Piper Stone's "Savage Empire" series and, in my opinion, is hotter than the first book 'The Kingpin'. If you've already introduced yourself to the series then you know Francois, our male lead, is Arman's brother and second in command, the muscle, to the Thibodeaux Family Crime Syndicate in New Orleans. Delaney is a high-demand photography model who grew up calling Francois, her father's best friend, Uncle. You see it coming, don't you? There's a whole lot of angst, drama, secrecy, and chemistry in this book. So much so, that I couldn't keep up with who I thought the perpetrator was until Ms. Stone revealed it and I about fell out of the chair! This book is intense between the drama and suspense of the plotline and the chemistry between Francois and Delaney being combustible. If the second book built up to this I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for 'The Wiseguy'.

Francois is the brother of Arman from the first book 'The Kingpin'. Delaney returns home when a friend of her is killed but was she the target? A riveting, dark and deathly read full of family loyalty, Mafia and murder and blossoming love story
This story is a compelling read from the off as we start by reading about Delaney a twenty-five-year-old model that is successful but realises that her career will soon be coming to an end, in all honesty as a fashion model she has done well to work as long as she has.
Francois Thibodeaux has been a friend of her father since they were children and although their backgrounds were totally different her father Brandon, he had been adopted like one of their brothers and had learned some of their management tactics which were harsh and unforgiving.
When Delaney had suddenly arrived on Brandons doorstep explaining she had come for a visit alarm bell had sounded and he had discovered that someone had attempted to murder her at a BDSM club she had visited. She discovered when she returned home that her flat mate had been murdered and had done the only thing that made sense and returned to her father’s home,
Francois could not believe how much Delaney had grown up and when Brandon had been called away on a business meeting, he asked his adopted brother if he would watch over her and keep her safe from the maniac that is stalking her and trying to murder her.
When Francois and Delaney along with his beautiful puppy Sadie who had become a large part of Delaney’s heart in a very Shory time, she was such a sweet and loyal friend that had already helped save her from danger and the threats posed by her would be murderer Alturo.
As the search intensifies there seems to be a great number of things that are not stacking up and also if Francois had not known better the information and attacks to do with his home and various businesses suggest an inside mole is passing on details and when he catches them, they will pay dearly.
This the second book in the series is a simply wonderful read and I guarantee that you will be surprised by the outcome and by the plot which has been beautifully written. The characters are dark and mysterious and they value family and will do anything to keep them and their employees’ family safe and secure.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

I want to say before I forget,I like the eye candy on the front of this book! Hot and Dreamy!Second this story was so good like the last one,François really enjoyed life,any where making sure his family being taking care of to enjoying driving fast cars and he really love his fur baby Sadie.Along came Delaney,the daughter of his best friend, which means not touching, hands off! But not realizing she already met and knew François before she met him at the club,she feels like she is being watch all the time but she goes to the club to let off steam and hooks up with up with tall dark and handsome but runs after and goes back to her apartment she shares but then realizes she is in danger when he roommate is brutally murder there,she runs back home to daddy to stay,her daddy does a investigation on what happen in L.A. with his daughter, he calls in a favor and gets a bodyguard for Delaney, in walks François. her father leaves the county but he looks tired,but François is in charge of Delaney, they are at her house but something happens there so they move to François house and it better security and everything but after things are happening there to,like burning the house down with fur baby in it. Things are still going on ,like being falsely arrested, more people being killed,Delaney being kidnapped while François is at the police station, it looks like Brandon may behind some it,they can't reach him a Delaney is missing,François finds out that Arman has been keeping a secert and it all trys in to the mysterious happings,Then things do turn out for the best and the air is cleared among the brothers,François and Delaney are happy very,Brandon does come home and the truth is cleared up on him and François tells him that he loves Delaney and they have happiness! This is a contemporary romance first but with dark and deadly elements. It's a mafia-themed story that will send chills down your spine and keep you glued to the pages. A must-read by Piper Stone. My mind was spinning out of control as I tried to keep up with the plot, but I failed miserably . I was surprised by who and why was behind the deadly intent to harm Delaney.
The story of this couple was complex. There was honor even in the criminal world, and their game of cat and mouse was a dangerous one, but the rules were meant to be broken, and despite the age gap and Francois's promise to her father, he couldn't keep his hands off, Delaney. Their chemistry could have melted an iceberg. Francois was incredibly controlling, dominant, protective, and dangerous. I do think his knowledge of death and deprivation gave him an edge to keep them both safe.
Delaney was a successful model working and living in Los Angeles when, after a night out at a kink club, she came home to find her roommate murdered, but who was the real intended victim? Delaney moved home with her father in New Orleans. Francois Thibodeaux was a trusted family friend whom Delaney used to call uncle. He was the Capo of the Family Crime Syndicate and given the job of protecting Delaney from her stalker, but who was going to protect Delaney from him?
I loved this book. It was intense and raw. The sex scenes were phenomenal, and each scene drew Delaney and Francois together. It is a story of forbidden love with a happy ending.

Part of the Savage Empire series each can be read as a standalone with dangerous sexy and the one who captures his undivided attention rather she wants want it or not so make sure to double check that you are buckled up, dangerous men, alpha’s personified, possessive, oh, gorgeous, brooding all the makings of a story consisting with three D’s (dark, delicious, and dirty) 😊. There will be suspense, betrayal, death, darkness, secrets reveled, violence, hope, forgiveness, and maybe even love along the way. Delaney a model who has done well in her profession, successful career but she knows her career is coming to an end due to her age, younger models are coming out in much higher demand, and one evening she goes to a BDSM club to enjoy a night of freedom when someone tried to kill her she goes to the one man that can help her but he happens to be her father’s best friend. Francois sexy as all get out best friend to her father who as be tasked by his brother to protect his daughter from a stalker who attempted to kill her once and the fact she is a full grown women throw in the instant magnetic pull between them, a sprinkle of the sweetest little puppy, oh and a dash of crazy stalker who has already killed her roommate won’t stop at nothing to have her and we have one wild ride but where is it headed considering she is his best friend’s daughter, does the stalker get to her, why is the stalker after her, will he eliminate the stalker (please say he does), and are they headed for happiness?

This book is filled with angst, passion and constant surprises. Just when you think they are safe, they aren’t. It also has an adorable fur baby character which imo steals the show! The book will keep you guessing and on your toes in suspense right up til the last word!

She was temptation he had to have. When Delaney decides to stay with her father, she figured to lay low. Not a chance. When Brandon catches wind of her trouble to asks for help, Francois. When these two meet again, surprise sparks fly. We have so must going on. For one, someone is trying to kill the Thibodeaux family members. We have Delaney being stalked. And old nemesis trying to frame the Thibodeaux. And just to add fun, a race.
Delaney knowing Francois and not telling him, you knew she was in for a spanking. These two try hard not to make the same mistake. But was it a mistake? Her dad and Francois have been friend for a long time. That was a dangerous mix. I love that these two have such a heated fight most times but then BAM their temptation sparks again. We learn a lot about Francois past. I was shocked about what happened and by whom. I don’t want to give anything away. This story was definitely action packed and hot sweaty romance. At times it didn’t feel like he was a Capo then danger arose. And I love the dog Sadie.

Delaney knowing Francois and not telling him, you knew she was in for a spanking. These two try hard not to make the same mistake. But was it a mistake? Her dad and Francois have been friend for a long time. That was a dangerous mix. I love that these two have such a heated fight most times but then BAM their temptation sparks again. We learn a lot about Francois past. I was shocked about what happened and by whom. I don’t want to give anything away. This story was definitely action packed and hot sweaty romance. At times it didn’t feel like he was a Capo then danger arose. And I love the dog Sadie.

Popular and had been on the front of several magazines. Delaney had been through a traumatic experience and decided she needed to go back home for awhile. Delaney didn't explain to her father Brandon Baxter why she came home unexpectedly. He did some digging himself and found out why. Francois Thibodeaux and Brandon had been friends since they were children. Francois had spent so much time at Brandon's home when Delaney was young she started calling Francois Uncle. Brandon knew the only one to protect Delaney while he was gone for a week on business was Francois. This book is so exciting, action-packed and full of danger and desire.

Book 2 of the Savage Empire series by Piper Stone, The Capo, is the rousing story of unbridled passion by Francois Thibodeaux, a ruthless, arrogant man used to taking whatever he wants, who agrees to help guard his old friend’s daughter, Delaney Baxter, a professional model who was being stalked by a sociopath, suspected of murdering two women. Delaney and Francois have history that will blow your socks off, but that was before he recognized her. Once he did, he was determined to not repeat his transgression, no matter how attracted and charismatic she was. Delaney is not at all happy with the arrangement her father made and refuses to accept his help until they realize the killer has gotten close enough to not only know who she is, but to breech her father’s secure and guarded home. As usual, this Piper Stone novel is well-written, easy to read, and addictive. I could not stop reading until the end, regardless of my obligations to work, family and friends. It is a compelling story about two people trying hard to stay away from each other amid the adrenal rush of danger, attraction, and fascination. This book needs to be READ!!

I just finished reading The Kingpin, the story of Arman, Francois' brother and couldn't believe that another brother could be as powerful, domineering and handsome as he was but guess what, Francois beats him by a mile! What started out as a torrid, one night encounter with a mysterious red head who snuck into his private kink club turns into something so much more dangerous and enticing that could imagine. It turns out that the encounter wasn't the anonymous encounter as Delaney recognized Francois immediately as her father's best friend and as she used to call him, her "uncle". She decided to allow the sinful night to progress since she had lusted over him for years. Danger stalks them both as their lives intertwine and there are so many pages of erotic acts of love as well as unthinkable danger and betrayal from an unknown source. Great story and as hard as it is for me to admit, so much hotter and better that Arman's story but then, there is one more upcoming story I can't wait to devour and that is Maddox Cormier's story concludes this fabulous Savage Empire series. I think, the BEST might just be coming shortly!

While protecting her, lines become blurred, attacks and threats continue, and more. Well-written characters, great-paced story-line, sizzle, steam, action, and so much more. This story was about Delaney and Francois, Delaney went to The Vault for a night of debauchery and sin before she went to her father's house, as a famous model she has a stalker so she would feel safe. Francois is a handsom, very wealthy, her father's best friend and a Don for the Mafia family a bachelor every female wants. The Vault night club had a theme of mystery, everyone needed to wear a mask she knew who he was but he didn't know her he thought. Another epic book full of forbidden attractions, mystery, crime, page turner surprises and so much more to get into twine in until the very last page! I know from the what this story is about part that I would fall all in with this best friend’s daughter theme story! With amazing characters who can’t resist what they truly want and seem to always have something to say to get one each other nerves. It’s an incredible funny thing to read along with the danger thriller as well I can’t get enough! They are both to stubborn for their own good which makes things unpredictable and interesting how things will turn out. This book is definitely full of action packed, revengeful people along with others things to enjoy! The puppy is adorable and probably one of my favorite characters i love bodyguard books and this for keepers! I love this series so much on to book 3 now!.

BRILLIANT
I throughly enjoyed this book. Hold on to your panties tight because Francois will sweep you off your feet just as he has done to the sweet and free spirited Delaney. The twists and turns of his past coming back to haunt him and they have their eye on Delaney. Piper always delivers an intense story that has you on the edge of your seat biting your nails before you know it. The love the two of them share for each other is so beautiful. He lets her be her and I love that so much. Which brings me to such a hot scene even I was fanning myself way to go Piper if you blush easy be prepared whew. I highly recommend this book RUN don’t WALK you will not be disappointed. This is an exceptional series so far can’t wait for book 3.

Wanted to like it

I wanted to like it, but something just felt off to me. I actually ended up skipping ahead just to get to the end.
I read the first few chapters and found myself getting bored and frustrated with the story. I ended up skipping passages as they just didn’t add to the story. By 3/4 of the way through I wanted to DNF. I can’t pinpoint exactly what bothered me, but it just wasn’t a book I enjoyed.
Much like the previous book the actual villain doesn’t get removed. Sure some of the bad players do, but the “Cartel” leader doesn’t. The something happened at the end of the last book. Normally I like the authors books, but this one feels scripted and odd. I’m going to skip the 3rd book.

Delaney is in trouble. She runs to her father's house in NOLA after finding her roommate murdered in their apartment. Her father calls his best friend, Francois to protect her, and lo and behold, they already know each other, intimately. This Mafia, forbidden, age gap, quick-paced romance is a stand alone, although the first book in the series is just as good, and so reading them in order is a good idea. Piper Stone has written another deliciously dark romance with lots of her signature spankings and rough and dirty intimate scenes. In other words, just what I was looking for!.

so bad it’s baffling
This was too painful to finish. I can’t even critique it because there’s nothing good to even start with. The dmc is either incredibly stupid or the writer is incredibly bad. She’s a brat who doesn’t want a bodyguard despite her best fiend murder in front of her? K. Oh and she thinks her stalker “could never find her” despite her being a world famous model on the cover of vogue? K.
Not to mention the endless pages of internal dialogue, with absolutely NOTHING HAPPENING. The dialogue that does happen is incredibly wooden like it was written by a child.
At least 200 pages too long. Nothing redeeming. Would never recommend.
