I enjoyed this book. This book continues from where the last book left off and it's a series that is very character driven. So it is better listened to as part of a series and what a series it is. This book has more sex than the previous books, as the sisters finally come to except there lives. Is it the last book in the series? Well relationships and lives get sorted, so if it is it's a nice way to finish. I like the way the author turns everything up on its head and what or how characters should act is very different from the reality she creates. Somehow it works and you find yourself rooting for the supposed had guy. This book is focused more on there lives and there is less of a mystery of what or who is behind the weirdness going on. This does mean there isn't as much action as in the previous books but there is plenty of banter and deals to be had. I hope it's not long before this author brings out another book because whether it's this series or another it will be entertaining and unputdownable.
When Donna's teenage son comes to visit it brings her out of her funk after her boyfriend leaves to find himself. Things go wrong when he starts to hallucinate, to stop him from hurting himself or others the sisters out him under a sleep induced spell. Then they discover the whole town is being affected and it's there fault. Sealing the magical realm has consequence and a price must be paid. The town will continue to pay the price, unless the sisters can stop it. To do so they will have to leave behind loved ones and travel to the place they once banished demons but are they willing to pay the price to save the town of will it be too much.
I like the narrator. Each chapter is give from one sisters point of view and you can always tell which one you are follow by the voice she give them. Making it not along easy to follow but entertaining.

Midlife Magic Malady is the final book in the Legacy Witches of Shadow Cove trilogy. It pretty much picks up where MMMonster ends and ties up all the loose ends left over from the first two books. For this reason I do not recommend it as a stand alone novel...but why would anyone not want to read the whole story anyways. It is a really fun story. Jennifer L Hart has a gift for storytelling. Her complex characters are deep and intriguing and with the narration of Jacqueline Rendell the settings come alive on the pages. Add to that a bevy of supernatural creatures and this trilogy is a very entertaining read/listen that I highly recommend. Ms. Hart and Ms. Rendell continue to be a winning combination and I look forward to enjoying more of their collaborations.

Fantastic end to this series
I adored this story and the journey that Bella had to go on with her sister to learn to sort her life out.
Ever distrustful of the demon who could mean more to her if she let him, Bella can’t see to see what is in front of her face and glaringly obvious to others.
Having to rectify past wrongs and help all of the townsfolk she heads off into another realm with her sister and her demon in tow.
Along the way there was so much emotion, I may have cried at one stage not wanting what was going to happen.
Also long ago secrets were revealed plus so much more to round this story up.
Well worth reading or listening to the audiobook.
Loved all the characters, the outcome and how the series ended plus I always love listening to Jacqueline Rendell’s narration.

Audiobook: I thought this third book was as entertaining as the earlier books in the series. I have enjoyed the evolving relationship between the two sisters, and that they had to learn to work together to accomplish their goals. I liked getting to know more about their family history which broadened my understanding of them. There were some steamy scenes. I was entertained by Jacqueline Rendell's narration. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which included my honest opinions regarding this story.

Interesting Twists and Turns before HEA

So while I know this author always has delivered a HEA in the past I was worried this time as this series was a bit darker than others. I enjoyed the many twists and turns before the ending and, while I’m rarely surprised, I hadn’t guessed the final twist that helped defeat their final foe. Start at the beginning as this wouldn’t be good stand alone.

Witchy demons

Loved how all this came together and the sisters and respective significant others finally saw each other for who they are. And not who they should have been because of their past family histories.

Jennifer L Hart Does it Again!

Another amazing book in this series. Monsters, demons, deals made, and sacrifice. Make sure to read the first two books in the series before beginning this one. I'm always on board for Jen's series, but this is by far a favorite.

Detailed sex scenes. Main character has been diagnosed with ADHD and mentions repeatedly "my wonky brain" over and over through the series. It is super annoying.
