A small group of the Southern Women's Club wants to overthrow Loretta as the leader of the club, so when one of that group is found dead, Loretta is one of the suspects. Roxy, of course, wants to clear Loretta's name. Roxy has no shortage of suspects to investigate to find the killer.

I love visiting the Bean Hive Coffee Shop and the citizens of Honey Springs. Roxy is intelligent, compassionate, and a bit nosy. I love how she hosts an animal that is up for adoption from the local animal rescue in the coffee shop. This mystery was full of twists and turns, although I did focus on the actual killer about midway through the book. I was, however, surprised by why he was behind the murder. I am looking forward to my next visit to Honey Springs.

All thoughts and opinions are my own and in no way have been influenced.

This story involved an out-of-town reporter, secrets, murder, and a dog. I liked the dog the best in this one. It was why I was hoping the ending would be different. I would have liked more done with the secrets that were related to the murder. It felt unfinished.

Despite the murder mystery, this was a feel good read! The residents of Honey Springs support each other and many try to help when their own are murdered. The mystery kept me guessing until the end!

Having an animal up for adoption at the Coffee Bean Coffee Shop adds to the charm. I’m always hoping that the animals will find its forever home.

I was fortunate to receive an advanced copy of this heart warming story.

"Pour-Over Predicament" is book fourteen in the "Killer Coffee Mystery" series by Tonya Kappes. This book had two murders and a break-in, and I was surprised by the person who did it. Roxy sure had her hands full in this book, and I enjoyed every second of it. The characters in this series are so fun to join in Honey Springs, Kentucky. There is always something happening, and the way that the town works together is wonderful. As always, I can't wait for the next book to come out so I can see what happens next. It's definitely a great series to read.

You won’t want to miss this new fabulous mystery in the Killer Coffee series! Tonya Kappes excels in describing the setting so well that I feel like I am there, visiting old friends.

Honey Springs, Kentucky has just been named one of the best small towns in America, and most folks who live there are thrilled! The Bean Hive Coffee House that Roxy owns is where the community gathers in good times and bad to celebrate, to catch up with each other, and even to heal. I like how people help each other out, and even though some have their differences, they do what they can to help others in need.

Loretta, one of the most active community members, often finds ways to improve the town. Her methods of accomplishing changes can be annoying, but her intentions are always to make Honey Springs a better place. Being one of the best small towns in America will bring more tourists, and a journalist is writing an article about them for the Small-Town America magazine. The letter arrived within hours of Ethan, the journalist, and Loretta started giving him a tour.

Loretta is president of the exclusive Southern Women’s Club, and has a meeting that evening. One woman was planning a coup to take Loretta’s position, and has been rallying other women to help her. She learned about it at one of the worst times possible, while she was introducing Ethan to shop owners.

Roxy wanted to be a member SO bad but she had not yet been invited to become one. For this special meeting, a member offered to pay her to provide and serve Roxy’s special coffee and desserts there, and Roxy was more than excited. Ethan would be a guest, and one of the main topics would be the town’s new title. Georgia, Jean, and others, however, had plans that weren’t on Loretta’s agenda. It would be an evening to remember!

They didn’t know just how much they would remember it until the next morning. There had been ice and snow on the roads the night before. Georgia, who Loretta had to leave the meeting, was found dead later that night. It was thought her car slid and crashed, but the sheriff discovered that she had been murdered.

The next shock was that Loretta, another pillar of the community, was being questioned as a suspect in Georgia’s murder. Roxy, who keeps her attorney’s license current, answered the desperate plea of Loretta’s granddaughter. Everyone knew Roxy could defend her. She could also find the real killer, based on her history of solving crimes in the past.

This, like other mysteries the author writes, was quite a challenge. There were three people on my whodunit list and Loretta wasn’t one of them. I did finally figure it out, but the motive was far more complex than I could have imagined. The end was very satisfactory, and I am looking forward to pulling up a seat at Bean Hive again soon for one of Roxy’s special coffee blends and unique desserts. I highly recommend this mystery and series to those who enjoy Southern cozy mysteries, humor, a challenging mystery, and coffee.

From a thankful heart: I received a pre-publication copy of this novel, and this is my honest review.

Review:
The characters are well rounded and well developed. When someone is murder and one of Honey Springs' elite becomes a person of interest, Roxy must find out the killer. It will not be easy but she is very determined.
The author is very talented in her descriptive writing and these descriptions pulled me into the story from the very beginning. The writing style flows smoothly and the book is an easy read. The mystery is well plotted and there were enough clues to sift through and suspects to consider.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well crafted cozy mystery. I am so happy to be reading a Killer C0ffee Cozy again.

The 14th book in the Killer Coffee mystery series has you turning pages until the end. You just won't want to put this book down. The small town of Honey Springs is where everyone knows everyone and gossip flourishes. There is a "special" invite only group of ladies who call themselves the Southern Women's club. The president is the bossy, nasty Loretta, but her heart was for the betterment of the town. She had sent in information on the town to a magazine on small towns and she got the town listed as one of the best small towns in America and a reporter, Ethan, was coming to town to see for himself and write the story. Loretta was taking him around the town to show him the sites. But there is a plot underfoot to oust Loretta from the group led by Georgia. Although Roxy is not a member, she is invited to a meeting to cater it. Of course, Roxy is all ears and wants to fee if there is a confrontation. So at the meeting at Loretta's house, Georgia confronts Loretta with a few ladies on her side telling her her time as leader has come and gone and she doesn't have the right vision for the town. Loretta kicks Georgia and her supporter out of her house, but not before having a heated argument with her. When Georgia turns up dead and it is pronounced as murder, of course the number one suspect is Loretta. Loretta's granddaughter pleads with Roxy to help get her grandmother out of jail and find who the murderer really is. Since Roxy still has her lawyer license up to date, she agrees. And so the story goes! Even the reporter, Ethan wants to help clear Loretta. But who could have killed Georgia? With so many twists and turns and crazy interviews we are taken to a surprise ending! The characters are great from Roxy's loving and supportive husband to her Aunt to the employees of the coffee shop. I LOVE this series and I highly recommend the entire series as well as this book and I look forward to seeing what Roxy will get into next. I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

The weather outside is frightful, so there is no better place to hang out in Honey Springs than the Bean Hive Coffee Shop. The coffee is hot, the sweets are delectable and the cute dogs who hang around the shop are adorable (even if they cause a little mayhem occasionally). The aromas coming out the door are enough to make you want to stop in. The shop is owned by Roxy Bloom, the resident barista/attorney/extraordinaire armchair sleuth. Loretta Bebe is a Southern woman full of sass and large and in charge. She has put Honey Springs on the map by having it recognized as one of America's Best small towns. This could be a real boost for the economy of Honey Springs. However, not everyone is excited about this announcement Loretta, and not everyone likes Loretta and her bossy and overbearing personality.

When Loretta is accused of murder, the only person in town who can help her is Roxy. She will need to use her extraordinary observation skills and legal expertise if she is going to help Loretta out. Someone is not happy with her investigation and makes their displeasure known. The suspects are plenty as you wend your way through the puzzle. There are hints along the way, but don't assume you know. I love this little town. The descriptions alone of the scenery and businesses make me want to live in this sweet little fictional town. The sense of community is like a dream. I never tire of this series because the characters are so likeable. It makes me want to find a local coffee shop to sit down and take a rest with a crafted specialty coffee in Roxy's honor. The cozy queen hooked me in again with this newest installment. Sleep is overrated when there is a mystery to solve. Get a latte and find a comfy chair so you can read this in one sitting.

Thank you to the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Overview: Roxy Bloom is overseeing The Bean Hive in Honey Springs, Kentucky, when the head of the Southern Women's Club, Loretta Bebe, comes in with some great news. Honey Springs has been chosen as one of America's Best Small Towns. The only problem comes when someone decided that they had to go and kill Loretta's rival in the Women's Club. Why would anyone want to kill Georgia? And can Roxy keep her friend from taking the fall? Let's find out.

Dislikes: It's not really a dislike as much as it is a warning. If you are rather good at sniffing out the killer, you'll put the mystery together rather fast. It's an easy read, and that can be helpful if you just want to listen to a novel while you're busy with something else.

Georgia, herself, forgot the key difference between a southern belle and a socialite. She was quite willing to pave her way to success on the backs of others.

Likes: The gossip mill was running rampant in this novel. If you know anything about a small town, then you know that this is an amazing way to get information. It's perfect to do some low-key sleuthing, if not outright snooping in other's businesses.

The Pet Palace has a big role in Honey Springs. All the dogs, and other animals make the place more realistic. Pepper, Sassy, and even Bandit try to steal the show in each of their scenes.

I have to love it when Louise brought Bandit to The Bean Hive. Word of warning: Bandit has a bit of beagle in him.

Conclusion: This was a fun story. I could easily spend more time in Honey Springs. This book is perfect for cozy mystery fans, as well as those who don't necessarily like a rather twisty novel when it comes to mysteries. Enjoy the read.

It’s cold outside in Kentucky, but big things are happening in Honey Springs! It’s just been named one of the best small towns in America and to mark the occasion, a journalist is coming to write a special article. Loretta Bebe, the resident southern belle was instrumental in helping this happening! She is also the president of the Southern Women’s club. Her dedication to Honey Springs is not to be questioned, but there is dissent in the club about Its future. A coup might be happening soon led by Georgia Patterson, whose vision for the new future of the club doesn’t include Loretta. After a contentious meeting, Roxy wakes up to hear that Georgia was killed in a car crash. Definitely too big of a coincidence. Someone cut Georgia’s brake lines and the most likely suspect is Loretta. Loretta had the means and motive, but Roxy knows she would never do that and is on the case to find the real murderer. But Loretta was not the only person with a motive. There are quite a few people that don’t want to see Honey Springs on any list or change it any way. While sorting through the suspects, Roxy finds one of them also murdered! Roxy is getting way too close this time and must figure this out before she ends up dead next! A great mystery!

This is the 14th book in this series; I’ve read and loved the whole series, but this book can stand alone pretty well. The main character, Roxy, is such a joy—a former attorney, she loves running her coffee shop, with its special grinds of coffees, teas, pastries and breakfast casseroles. Honey Springs, Kentucky has been named one of the best small towns in America and Loretta Bebe, the preeminent Southern belle, has made that happen. It’s wintertime, frosty and snowy, but the town is determined to show the town off. Unfortunately, a woman decides this is the time to challenge “Low-retta” for her leadership position in a ladies group in town. On the way home from the meeting at Loretta’s house, from which the woman was summarily dismissed, the woman is killed in a car crash on the icy and snowy roads. But it’s not an accident—evidently the brake line was cut. So Loretta is a suspect and Roxy needs to use her former profession as a lawyer and special sleuthing skills to help her. The mystery is great and I had fun solving it along with Roxy. I can definitely recommend this book and series; I was provided an arc, which I appreciate, but these opinions are my own.

Loretta, the queen bee of Honey Springs, is instrumental in getting the town named one of the best small towns in America. This means a journalist is coming to do a write-up of the town. During all of this, Georgia is trying to dethrone Loretta as the head of the Southern Women's Club. When Georgia ends up murdered. Loretta is at the top of the suspect list and she enlists Roxy to help clear her name. When another death occurs, the suspect pool widens.

While I like this series, I’d like to see more of Patrick and Roxy. I’ve actually had a tough time reading this series since Patrick sold his house and moved into Roxy’s small cabin. The reason for doing so is not really a great reason and with Roxy pondering children, it makes you wonder where are they going to put children in that cabin.

I felt the killer was a total surprise and the reason is thin a best and not explained really well. A reason is given, but not enough to really know why. The characters are interesting and mostly fun. I’ll continue reading these stories in spite of the house sale and look forward to more adventures with Roxy, Patrick and the community of Honey Springs.

Pour-Over Predicament is the 14th book in Tonya Kappes’ Killer Coffee Mystery series. Loretta Bebe has worked hard to get Honey Springs on the map. She’s successfully earned the town a spot on the America’s Best Places list. With that accolade comes a journalist. The last thing the town needs is any discontent or deaths, but that’s exactly what they get. Now, while trying to keep Honey Springs in a good light, Roxy finds herself immersed in another perplexing case.

Pour-Over Predicament pulls you in and keeps you engaged. The mystery was well-written and kept me on my toes. I found myself guessing who the murderer could be and the motive. I was not clued into who the murderer was until the reveal.

Every time I thought I knew who the suspect was, something would happen, and I’d have to try and figure it out again. I love that in a mystery - fill the book full of twists and turns, red herrings, and deliberate misdirects so I have a tough time figuring everything out.

I enjoyed all the characters. The world building had me feeling like I was right in the middle of Honey Springs. I was able to visualize the town, the activities, and the people.

Welcome back to Honey Springs where small town meets murder in this cozy adventure. I love this series and think Roxy is the perfect character in this story. She is charming, runs a fun coffee shop and has a nose for danger. With a special journalist arriving to do a spread on the town, everyone is on their best behavior. What an honor it is to be recognized as one of America’s best small towns.

Now you know things don’t always go as planned. An argument between two women fighting over being in charge sets the stage for a murder. The town is shocked when a car accident turns mysterious . Who cut the brake lines and why? Roxy must use her investigative skills to prove her friend innocent.

With lots of twists in the story you better keep a notebook handy to write down clues and suspects. The author has done it again. A fun story with quirky characters, a mystery and lots of adventure in this latest addition to the series.

I received a copy of this book from the author. The review is my own opinion.

Pour-Over Predicament is another exciting installment in Kappes' killer coffee mystery series. The townspeople of Honey Springs are excited when the town is recognized as one of America's best places. Loretta was instrumental is helping the town get that recognition. However when another member of the Southern Women's Club tries to remove Loretta as leader, Loretta becomes a suspect of their murder. Roxy becomes involved in the case to try and clear Loretta's name and save Honey Springs' reputation.

Kappes does a great job at setting up an entertaining read. The book captures the reader's interest from the beginning and never lets go. I loved going back and visiting one of my favorite fictional towns along with some of my favorite characters. This case hits close to home for Roxy because it threatens not only a friend but the town of Honey Springs' reputation. Overall Pour-Over Predicament proved to be a great read that I would most certainly recommend. I look forward to reading Roxy's next adventure.

This was a lovely read as usual, each book is excellent and Roxy is a great character easy to love, the way she manages her coffehouse to help the community , pets included, is inspiring.

Really i love this series a little city with a lot of mysteries happening, this time Loretta , a high figure of honey spring, is accused of killing her rival....so Roxy becomes her attorney but there is more to uncover while a journalist is present to put honey Spring under the spotlight....
When murders continues and Roxy becomes targetted she is even more determined to find the truth no matter the risks.

Really it's well written, the atmosphere is perfect, you feel part of the town and the intrigue will keep you hooked. I just regretted not to get all the motive about the murder yes we know why but i wanted a bit more ,what secret etc to be revealed, it was a bit too short in my opinion.

now that's a series i recommend with pleasure!

Honey Springs, Kentucky has been selected as one of the best small towns in America thanks to Loretta Bebe and her campaign to put the town on the map. But when a prominent woman dies in what is at first thought to be an accident, and turns out to be a murder the town is on edge. Roxy, the owner of the Bean Hive and a former lawyer, steps in to help defend the woman accused of the crime and wants to help solve it before it can damage the reputation of the town. She loves Honey Springs and wants things to go back to the peaceful town that she loves. I love the coffee shop and the descriptions of the coffee and treats being served and the customers. Honey Springs sounds like such a cute town and I feel like I am visiting there when I read the books in this series.

I received a complimentary copy of this e-book from the author. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Oh wow this book just confirmed how much I absolutely love this series! The community coming together in Honey Spring’s just so awesome and when they were named “one of the best small towns in America” good ole Low-retta was in her element until her club started having crazy talk about a coup. It all went downhill after that for a while.

After a couple murders, I was pretty sure I knew whodunit but not the why which we found out at the showdown. It was fairly quick but tense, and both Roxy and Patrick had a hand in taking down the perp. I loved how the sweet little shelter dog Bandit got his forever home. I was over the moon that a dachshund was briefly featured as a murder victim’s dog and even though he wasn’t mentioned more, I know Louise is gonna find him an amazing home. I won’t lie, I hoped Roxy might take him, lol). See ya in the next book, good people of Honey Springs! I can’t wait!

This is the fourteenth book in the Killer Coffee mystery series. It can be read as a standalone but why miss the character development?

It’s winter in Honey Springs. Loretta Bebe is a suspect in the killing of a rival committee member and Roxy is asked to find out the truth.
Per the usual, Roxy is never backing down. She just has to find out the truth and she’s certain Loretta didn’t do it.

The author takes us on a quick read while we navigate the suspects, consider them and move on. There are plenty to choose from. I liked how the community stands behind Roxy. The interactions between the Sheriff and Roxy are respectful and full of concern for each other.

I always enjoy my trips to Honey Springs and the characters are memorable.
I was given an Advanced Reader Copy and am not required to leave a positive review.

I love Roxy and her coffee shop, I can smell the coffee being ground and brewing when she’s there. I love Aunt Maxi and Bunny too, specially when they are picking on each other, love them even more when they have a go at Low-retta.

This is a really good one, half way through the book I thought the one that turned out to be the murderer, but dismissed that person cause I thought they were too obvious. I was wrong, that person did it. Sometimes even dogs are wrong since they loved on the murderer. But everything turned out great in the end. The town came together to help Roxy out when there was trouble in the coffee shop And several turned up to help brainstorm on who might be the killer, including Patrick, who brought the food.

Can’t wait for the happening in Honey Springs, there is a lot of fun that happens even with bad things happening.

Another wonderful installment in the Kille Coffee Mysteries series based in Honey Springs. This is such a wonderful series. I just love all of Tonya's books. She makes all the people and the town just come alive on the pages and make you feel like you are right there as a beloved town member and also throws you into the murder mystery that you need to help the townspeople solve to protect the town. When the town socialite Loretta is suspected in the killing of another town member the tension in the town goes through the roof. The town is trying to deal with the death of a beloved member of the community and that another well-loved townsperson is suspected loyalties are divided and suspicions fly.

Can Roxy solve the murder and clear her client and still save the town the title of Best Small Town in America?

Another great read by this uber-talented author. This is one of my favorite series in a close race with the Kenni Lowry series...Roxy and the Bean Hive Coffee House in Honey Springs always provides the perfect backdrop for the quirky characters and always an engaging mystery. Plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing and even when you think you can identify the killer...bam...you are completely surprised, in this super entertaining series with no shortage of laugh-out-loud moments. Instead of telling you the story, I urge you to pick this up and read for yourself, the blurb completely gives you what you need going in. You can read this out of order without missing a beat, but you'll surely want to also read the others (if you haven't yet) for the complete backstory! Highly recommend this engaging read.

Honey Springs has just been named one of the best places in America, and it is a well-deserved honor! Everyone is excited and yet nervous when a journalist comes to cover this wonderful small town. Of course, it does not go smoothly. Not only is there a murder, but Roxy, who keeps her law license current, finds herself defending the last person she expected, Loretta! Could the president of the town’s Southern Women’s Group really be responsible for murder? Would she go that far to protect her position?

I love every visit to Honey Springs, and it would be my first choice as one of the best places in the USA. The characters are developed, and learning more about them in each new book is fun. The scenery is so vivid that you can close your eyes and picture Honey Lake and the boardwalk with its businesses. I cannot wait for the next installment in the Killer Coffee series.
