Disclaimer: I received this book as an arc.

Firstly, I’d like to kick this off by saying the smut in this book is pretty solid. It’s spicy, adventurous and fun. I love that they can be so serious and then laugh a short bit after. However, I often got lost. There wasn’t much detail to decipher who was who in these MMFM scenes. Hands got lost and I couldn’t tell whose junk was whose.

Secondly, I really enjoy the plot. What little there was. Her divorce, her work, her trip, all of that. I really wish there was more detail playing into her life before these 3 men.

Lastly, while I enjoyed each character, I felt like I didn’t really know them. That they didn’t really know each other. Things moved insanely fast, and with few details in between. Each character had their own personality, but overall it all kind of bled together.

For as long as this book was, I have to give it a 2 star rating.. it was just far too long for such little plot. I would definitely give the author another chance though, as she is very talented and the book was well written with no seen grammatical errors.

DNF on page 78

As a Scot, it makes me shiver when any American author uses the 'Lets visit Scotland' trope, and you can instantly tell whether they've done any kind of research or not.
This one has not.
It's pure stereotyping and insults if I'm honest, from one of the MMC's saying how Scotland only has a few surnames (we don't?) Or that same MMC calling the FMC a Sassenach, which is an extremely derogatory word for an *English* person. Definitely not something you'd use on someone you were flirting with ten minutes prior, or an American.
Aside from the horrific representation of my country and the people living there, it's an instant love kind of book. That's not usually a problem for me, but there's no real time spent together aside from some vague mentions and weeks worth of time skipping, and in the short amount of pages I've read, she's fallen in love with one MMC despite us only seeing them together a handful of times and the banging in a hot spring whilst there's kids nearby that they're supposed to be supervising. Eek.
Definitely a DNF for me.

Edited for clarity

I am so confused. Did I read the same book as these other reviewers? I'm honestly just in disbelief over the good reviews lol I feel bad saying so but it's as if a high schooler read or watched Outlander and 50 Shades of Gray and tried to combine them and just up the smut. If any kind of kink exists, you can find it in this book. But the writing is choppy, there were spelling errors, it was just hard to get through. Idk what book i read but it can't be the same as some of the others here

too long

I was so into this book when I first started. But the longer it droned on, the sloppier it got. The author repeats the same phrases over and over and over again (we get it, Jack’s hands are calloused). It also got sloppy with spelling and grammar mistakes, even misspelling character names and mixing them up. If you’re not even into your own book, how am I supposed to be?

I almost DNF'd

Lots of Spice

Kinks

Considering how thick this book is now as expecting an epic love story with plenty of romance and spice... Well there was defiantly lots of spice. I never thought I'd say it but maybe even too much spice. The love story is sweet but could have done with a bit more, I think the constant edging and near misses then all out hard-core smut for a girl who'd only ever had one very vanilla lover kinda made things a little detached for me. I didn't connect with the characters as much as I'd liked.
Anyway, the story was still sweet, the spice was defiantly there and it's not a bad read, I'm not sure that I will continue with the series tho, I'm not that invested.

I received this book as an ARC and was very excited to read it. I had seen a lot of ads for it while it was on Kindle Vella, but I don’t have the patience for pay per chapter stuff. I think as a result of it being on Kindle Vella, it is quite a bit longer than most contemporary romances I’ve read. The spice in this is off the charts, and the author lets you know right from the dedication. The group scenes are really well written, and there are a TON of them. Pretty much every chapter there is something spicy going on. If you are not in the mood for a lot of spice and a little plot, this is not the book for you. On the other hand, if a one-handed read is what you are looking for, you are in luck! The one miss for me is that there were definite primal play vibes from one of the MMCs but there was never a full primal scene, so it felt like a bit of a tease in that aspect. It was a fun read overall!

If i could describe my emotions through this, i would. But i can’t because this book was SO good. I cannot convey how good. The tension between all of them is intense and full of desire and love, i am all for it. When each of them are alone with charlie, it is like a different story each time, i suppose it is really. But when they are all together, they are a force to be reckoned with. The lust between Cam and Lach is insatiable, just like Jack and Charlie or Lach or Jack. Divine.

I love Jack and Charlie together the most because of the tension and love, but i love Jack and Lachlan because of all the pent up feelings.

This book was so well written and i loved when it switched randomly, it caught me off guard but i am so happy i got to experience it from each character and not just Charlie. I recommend if you want a steamy quadrouple romance. I have to admit, it is a very horny book and there is mostly spice but it is so worth it….

Whew! Daphne wasn’t kidding! Her “Dear Readers….” was spot on!

Loved how each character grew into the story! Scotland definitely has me now on my bucket list LOL.

The ending was definitely touching how things “turned to positive for Charlie”

Congrats Daphne on your first published book! It’s definitely a long one but well appreciated. I paced myself for reading love smut but it’s a lot for this one! Enjoy readers!

This was an ARC copy. Thank you for allowing me to review and read your first book!

DNF. I was all like "yeah a book of straight smut this'll be a fun brain break" but I couldn't do it. Apparently I need at least sub par writing and an attempt at a storyline other than moving from one c**k to the next.

Received this as an arc and see so much potential in this new author!

Lots of smut which I love. I would have preferred more of a build up with the relationships before she jumped to sex right away.
I got a bit confused about who was who when it was the mmfm scenes.
For me I found the plot a little hard to follow because of how fast things were happening and the timeline was hard to follow.

Not sure if they were aware sassenach isn't a term of endearment but a derogatory term for outsider or foreigner.

Over all It was a book with a lot of potential.

I want to like this so bad but i don't know
I love me a good RH romance, it's actually one of my favorite genres but it felt like I just read 700 of Charlie getting D'd down 🫠
I also wanted more POVs of the guys not just Charlotte, she was driving me nuts 90% of the time.

This story was great! However, it was a rough read for me.

This book is a lot of smut and little plot, which is normally fine by me, but I struggled. I felt some of the scenes in the earlier chapters could’ve had more substance. It’s like the scenes ended just as quickly as they began and I was left wishing for more.

I wish so badly that some of the scenes could’ve been chopped and made room for Jack and Lach to come to their realizations sooner and had more time to progress together in the story. I was LIVING for their connection! I was so sad that it happened so close to the end and left so much to be desired.

I was confused on the timeline progression. Charlie was only supposed to be in Scotland for 3 months and it seemed like she was there for much longer, but I’m unsure. There wasn’t really any dialogue as to her time spent there other than saying she spent a few weeks dating Cam, then 2 months with Lach and Jack, then 2 weeks before she had to return home for court. I was reading so far into that because I wanted to know how much time they were really together and when she left for court to the time when she got married to the guys. That’s probably just my OCD though, digging for those details.

I also would’ve loved if the whole book was written in the perspective of all characters instead of the different POVs toward the end. I loved that there was finally a break in the first person POV and I loved having the other character’s involved!

I struggled connecting with the book until around 60% in and I think it’s because I wanted so much more for the characters than what was given until that point. I’m all for the smut, but I was dying for more of their emotional connections earlier on.

It’s a great read, and for it being the author’s first book, it was awesome. Those were just my tidbits of what I wish were different, but man.. the storyline is amazing. I hope so badly that she writes stories for Pen and Isla because I am HERE FOR THEM! Especially Pen and her crew!! AH. Please please please Daphne 🙏🏼

I saw an ad for it but I realized what the ad said was for a diff book ( noted 4 guys not 3 ) so I picked it up.

Started out good. Was a bit of insta love but I’m fine with that since I knew this was a why choose. However, it got a bit over the top once the other 2 guys came in to play. I don’t think it flowed well for me, it was too sudden (too sudden for something that is +700 pgs).

I get that this is smut. But 300 pgs of plot in comparison to 400 pgs of smut was a bit over the top. Not only that, the sex seemed so repetitive. Literally same sex positions, but location of where everyone is plugged is changed. Im a bit embarrassed by how long it took me to realize it was the same sex over and over, and by that point, I had 200 pgs left.

If I had to compare, the book is of similar vibes to Pucking Around but takes place in another country and different circumstances but without the novelty of a good plot and well developed characters.

TOO MUCH OF NOTHING

*sigh* I don’t post reviews very often, if at all. But this book deserves a review…and not for the better…

I read up to about 550 pages of this book and let me tell you, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAPPENS IN THIS BOOK. If you want something that is 99% smut and 1% plot this is it for you.

I like my smut, but DANG, there is no plot or substance to this book besides “let’s bang here and there” and then 3 pages later, they’re back to smexy time again.

And let’s be honest here, the smut wasn’t that great either. I wouldn’t recommend this book if I was paid to do it.

DNF. Tell me how an instalove with hardly any detail on the plot is supposed to last over 700 pages?! Absolutely not. By 10% into the book she’s already obsessed with one guy and on her way with two others. Even though one of those two she had the briefest of interactions with. It’s giving obsessive teenage stalker vibes and not in a good way. It’s obvious the author did not research Scotland before writing this book either. If this was a short novel, it’d make for an ok palette cleanser. But as a whole ass long novel, nope! Count me out.

My first ever DNF
Really feel this could have been great, but the plot was so thin and (for a girl who loves her spicy books) this book was just too much. Like please, please, have a real, proper conversation over dinner, instead of turning each other into a meal.
Just a UTI waiting to happen 🙈
The spice is spicing for sure, but would have loved to know more about the characters other than they are hot and have big dicks and love oral sex 🤷‍♀️

Lack of Scottish ‘accents’ annoyed me too!

Charlie: a reverse haram book

*SPOILERS*

So I’m gonna start this off with the overall idea of this book was very cute and I really liked what this author was going for.

However, it was a few hundred pages too long. This story follows Charlie as she journeys to Scotland after her life gets upended when she finds her husband sleeping with her best friend. Just weeks after her life is upended she meets Cam while staying in her first location whom she seemingly has a “fling” with, but falls deeper than she realized. Later on she finds Jack, and is immediately taken with him, but is scared of the connection she makes. And finally she meets Lach who is the one who shows her it’s okay to love more than one person.

While the premise was well thought out at first, this book is 85% steamy sex scenes and it get very very repetitive. I believe that if this book was re-edited and cut down, it would be getting way more 5 star reviews and for that reason I can only give it a 3 star

2.5⭐️s but being nice and rounding up.

Repetitive
All over the place
Sex club scene unnecessary and doesn’t even go with the story well
Choppy writing
Not enough plot
The death of their pregnant ex was also unnecessary. Didn’t add to the story and the guys didn’t even seem emotional. I know it was 11 years prior but dang. They could have just broke up instead of having her die.
The proposals were way too soon! She’s not even divorced…drama

There was some good plot at the beginning and a little toward the end. At the beginning of this book I was really enjoying it but it just derailed and became full blown sex all the time. Listen, I love smut, I read a ton of it. But this book became just that and that poor girl needed some time to heal. Lmao 🤣

I truly enjoyed this book, BUT it was incredibly long. At times it felt like there was an incredible amount of detail in the characters day to day lives but at the same time, we didn't get to witness the conversations of them getting to know each other. We know conversations were had because of context, but for the length of the book I feel as though I got robbed of those deep conversations.

The spice was 5/5 and was handled beautifully for how the characters learned about themselves within each relationship.
