Shane Purdy is a college graduate with a Bachelors in Computer Science. At a young age he became fascinated with Fantasy books after reading the Wereworld series by Curtis Jobling, which led to a love of reading that continues to this day.
When he was younger you could almost always find him with a book in his hand (when he wasn’t busy with Band activities that is). As he got older, he started reading online webnovels as well. In June of 2021, after reading thousands of books, he decided to take the plunge and write a book of his own, starting with his first series, Dungeon from the Void.
He writes both high and low progression fantasy novels of varying genres, including Dungeon Core, LitRPG, Cultivation, Sci-Fi and more.
He does not use any sort of social media for his books other than Reddit, he has no Facebook pages, and his Facebook account is private and not public. Therefore if anyone finds public Facebook or other social media accounts outside of Reddit or Discord claiming to be him, they are fake.
There is not enough story to merit five whole books, there is a abundance of filler as a result. This book comes across as a soft reboot to quickly advance the character progression. This is in desperate need of a really good outline with definitive story progression.
Devoured this book in one day, it is just as good as the previous four books. The pacing did slow down quite a bit in this one. We only got through I think like 40 floors, but it was all for good reason as a lot of changes occurred in this book with the main character. I find myself wishing at the start of the book there was a recap, since it has been so long since we were reading the fourth book. I really enjoyed the intermissions in this book and all of the other perspectives from different characters. They’re not long and they don’t take you out of the story like some other books I’ve read. i’ll be waiting for September with bated breath for the sixth book in the series. Kind of wish it was coming sooner but what can I do?
Wolf’s next leap in power is the culmination of a progenitor’s project
As long as Wolf survives his nigh impossible battle against a near peak devourer and his transformation into another new species, Fenrir will see his long planning come to fruition. Then he must weather Wolf and Sapphire’s response to his meddling in their lives. The Beta Dungeon is looking more and more like an attempt on Wolf’s life rather than the Reaper’s entertainment, but as long as he can survive it all, he doesn’t much care. He also receives a surprise loot item than can teleport Sapphire to places Wolf has been or let him send his likeness for a few hours. Sadly he was only one place on the new planet since he was thrown into the Administrator’s Dungeon so fast. Enjoy a fun story of battle and sassy teens and so much more! A new unique race arises!
It gets increasingly difficult to keep writing glowing references for this series because there are only so many times or ways you can say "awesome, outstanding, exciting," etc. As with all the books to date in this series, I can categorically recommend it for lovers of this genre, though with just 2 addendum: 1. This time round, some, but just a few, of the dungeon levels were a bit boring/repetitive; and 2. Some re-editing is required due to some grammatical errors that were difficult to overlook, not unusual when a new release is expedited.
That said, this is a unique, outstanding series with a convulated plot that ensures I, for one, will be waiting eagerly for the next book in the series.
the ending, albeit a good one, does not dismiss the total mediocrity that makes up most of this book. It's a boring book full of filler. We've waited 9 entire months for Shane to finish with his new books to get to this one and it's a sturdy disappointment. I can't even remember the times I absent mindedly put this book down only to later remember it's existence. I had to force myself to read this book. If this is all Shane can produce going forward then I won't be reading anymore of his works.
At the end of book #4, I really wasn't sure how the author was going to make this series work. Especially when it started to get a little boring by all of the constant fighting.
This book solves that problem by finally making the main characters not the total focus this time. We finally get a real in depth look at what is happening on the planet since the system showed up. We get to see "Guild Wars" on a universal level as the Reaper calls in his chits owed.
A fantastic twist that keeps the story refreshing and fun.
Recommendation for the whole entire series. I unfortunately am dyslexic but I practice reading with alexa. This is the first series. I didn't complain about her reading as it is a little thing that got to me, making me stop. I didn't care that she said leve. I worked hard to keep up with her. This is an awesome series I would recommend to anyone. I will to reading disabled group. Hope that my autocorrect hasn't butcher my speak to text.
Wow, this series is nonstop action from the first few pages to the end. I had no idea where the story/plot would go next. If you're looking for definite weak to strong progression, a protagonist that gets things done and is hard working, and still has a decent moral compass for the most part, this is the series for you. Very well done, sir.
Really enjoying this series. I was wary at first since I'm not usually one for someone who gets overwhelming power so early but I think the pacing with how powerful the MC is vs. the enemy is good and keeps me coming back to the book. Looking forward to the next book even though apparently its many months away!
Great series so far and I love the mythology mixed in. I for see a progenitor war in the future and look forward to seeing gods patents is there lineage more with more involvement.
Wolf is still laid back, and his daughter is hilarious. As a mom to a teen, I completely understand the whiplash. I didn't expect the further development, and I really dislike the enemies power plays. Fenrir is an enigma.
Amazing as always! I can never get enough with this story. It’s always a shame the pace I finish these books then having to wait for the next. Keep them coming an still waiting for physical copies
Love this series and love just how crazy things are getting this installment was wonderful full of great fights and just awesome world development. The scope of this worlds story is so large and seems as infinite in possibilities as the void.
Like the growth of the MC throughout all of the books so far. Looking forward to seeing the direction the author takes the MC and the story. Excitedly awaiting the next installment.
Awesome series great book there's a few things I wish would be changed or added like the protagonist lack of romance interest even though now he's got a daughter like seriously what that hell but nonetheless I still loved it
Just like every other book in this series, this book is hard to put down once you start to read. Can’t wait for the adventures of the Winter Wolf to continue as he levels up in power.
Each book in this series continues to get better, and this one once again tops the others. I care what happens to even minor characters and look forward to the next!
