Thin Ice #7

Pucking Human

Rate this book
Some days, Rider is a terrible boss. Other days, he’s a dream. Either way, he’s completely off limits.

After a long and successful hockey career, Rider moved on to take over the general manager position of a professional hockey team. It’s not exactly the cozy job he hoped it would be. In fact, he might be out on his butt soon if he can’t win a championship. But the job still has its perks—like a sassy personal assistant who couldn’t be deeper beneath Rider’s skin

.Rider is rich, spoiled, and maddening. The guy is barely human. He drives Ben insane with his arrogant ways. Despite all those things, Ben has no desire to be anywhere else. His long working hours are the happiest of his day. The fire between them seems like so much more than friction. They have a spark. Zero good can come of a workplace romance, especially when Rider has nothing to gain, and Ben has everything to lose.

Pucking Human is the seventh book in Charity Parkerson’s Thin Ice series. These books are steamy sports romances meant to heat up your day. This series is best enjoyed when read in order.

A work place, hurt comfort - health scare drama. Boss/assistant but not too taboo, it was written so wonderfully, you knew they were crazy about each other.

You feel their love slipping through every interaction. The way they step up for one another. The light family and work drama going on gives reasons for them to keep being there and push them together.

I enjoyed this just as I'm enjoying this series of short stories. A fantastic read for my summer so far.🌞🌈

*A gorgeous, GORGEOUS declaration scene🥲

Rider finally "sees" Ben... !

Ben, 29, assistant who grew up poor,

he's a smaller man, hazel eyes and styled dark hair. He works his rear off to make life easier for Rider.
Rider, 42, General Manager in

Professional Hockey, with a rich family, ice blue eyes, and dark hair with grey edges.

A work relationship is rocked by a death in the family. Rider loved his Dad, and amazing Ben will handle all of the arrangements, and go along, too. The funeral is tough, family is tougher.

Once home, Rider is ill and Ben takes care of him until Ben has neglected himself and passes out, from underlying conditions. Rider vows to get him back to health, whatever it takes.
The two men are deeply in love, finally having sizzling sexy times and talk about what their life should be like.

Big decisions, and surprises, too! Great characters !

ENJOY !

Nah! I didn't enjoy it at all. Ben had a strong crush on his boss, and reading about his heartbreak, as well as witnessing or arranging his boss's dates or hookups, made me miserable. I wrote this review two weeks after I finished reading the book, so my memory is blurry, but my point remains: I detest seeing Ben disappointed and heartbroken.

nice

I nice quick read. Both men needed each other but not willing to open up. Ben was adorable and feisty. Rider was closed off and dependent on Ben.
