I swear this author is the absolute QUEEN of dirty talk and fletching/ feltching. Her smut is perfection🥵🥵🙌 You can always count on 5 HOT CHILI PEPPERS🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
This is my first series by this author but I’m determined to read all her books eventually. The thing is….the characters in this series have the worst of the worst histories mostly with CA/ CSA. This series frequently uses religion as a means or excuse to inflict harm, so be aware of that. Many of the characters have permanent scars on the outside as well as on the inside (usually from a parent or someone close to them). Luckily, these stories don’t dwell much on their previous horrors and instead focus on their current relationships. Also, in most cases they have already fled or killed their abuser.
I loved this series but this book was a huge NO from me. I realized by chapter 1 that it wasn’t for me but I love the author and decided to read it, if for no other reason, the smut factor. I didn’t like that these characters have all been in a relationship for over 10 years! This story is about a little blip in their relationship. They’re a fully formed menage/ RH that have already overcome most hurdles, proclaimed their love for each other, and live together. This didn’t really feel like a “romance” since this story was basically an argument over working too much and the lack of time spent together. There was a bit of a story but with so little detail, it was easily fixed and felt trivial (despite it being a major plot line/ source of conflict).
I had several issues with the main storyline/ conflict as well. First, why was the FMC always gone traveling without her guys when none seemed to even have a job (why didn’t they go together). It made me dislike her IMMENSELY since she cared more about strangers than her 3 love interests, which all depended on her. And, how in the world did one character not allow any touch, so much that even a slight graze would cause a frenzy. We know he’s “working on it” but there’s no way he would do a complete 180… to be dragged around, tied up, mutilated, and completely submissive. Don’t get me wrong, it was HOT AF, but he never even kissed the others in over 10 years together so it felt like too much of the story focus was on his lack of physical involvement and then WHAM! It’s 100% cured and he’s letting all 3 pile on top of him.
I loved how each one of the males were so unhinged ! The things they did made me gasp out loud and laugh saying "noooo, they didn't!" LOL.
The fml is from Iran and escaped a life that was unfair to women with her family. She was a new girl getting bullied when zeke stood up for her and they became the best of friends.
But zeke didn't have a great home life and did some unthinkable things , which led him to meet 2 other men . All of them have done things that are wrong but they had to do it to survive the lives they've been dealt.
This deals with a lot of trauma and body harm that changes people's appearances.
This was probably one of my favourite Mila Crawford books.
I love the entire Darkly Every After series because they are quick, spicy and have a tendency to be on the wild side. Mila has a way of writing that just draws me in at every single spot.
Feral is an MMMF romance with heart. Mila has written a stunning beauty & the beast retelling; only it’s spicy as heck and interesting the entire way through.
Clearly I’m in the minority here. I hated the back and forth of the ages. There was a lot of potential in the past and it just never came to fruition for me. It was very all over the place in the plot too. The smut was fine. I hated the last like 8%.
I was lucky enough to receive this book as an ARC read and I’m so happy I got it, it was so good. It’s a great book with a lot information in it. We all know Mila Crawford can write and she can write some amazing smut, this book is no different. It centers around one very strong, smart, brave and curvy woman who emigrated to the US from Iran with her mom and siblings. She meets Zeke first in grade school or jr high and they become close friends. A few years later she meets Cyrus and then Lev. They from a tight polyamorous relationship between the 4 of them, that is not for the weak lol. When she isn’t with her men she’s helping other women and girls escape the horrors of Iran and the torture she endured has a young woman. I highly recommend this book but please check your trigger warnings if you have concerns.
WHEW DADDYYY I need to visit a church after this one 😂 I wanted a short and dirty story and this one delivered! Loved it because of the Persian references & the FMC taking whatever the eff she wants. The men are indeed feral for her 😮💨 This MMMF isn’t for everyone but godddammnnn if you want a wild ride, consider this one 👀
I can’t share most of the quotes because they’re badddd 🤣 here’s a few that stood out to me:
‘In Persian, you don’t simply say, “I miss you.” You say, “Jaheh shoma Kahliheh,” which means your place is empty. Azadeh's not being here has left a void nothing and no one can ever fill.’ 😭
“But we all know why we stay frozen in time. It’s so a pretty girl with long black hair always has a place to call home.”
“Are you man enough to show me in the light what you did in the shadows? Be a good boy and crawl to me.” GIRL
“You, above all others, understand the tragedy of what a real monster is capable of.” ❤️
It's less smutty than some of Mila's other books because it focuses on different things. It's also not super plot heavy which was perfect. Because this allowed for the focus to lie on where I'd hoped it to be: Azadeh, the Iranian culture and how it shapes lives, her story and how it impacted her.
The audiobook is an absolute masterpiece in my opinion. Mila has mastered the perfect cast with Samantha Brentmoor, an Iranian-American, as Azadeh. I'm still floored by how on point Samantha, James Cassidy, J.F. Harding and Teddy Hamilton are for these characters.
Feral jumps back and forth between the present and the past and circles around one conflict between all the characters, showing the layers, the years of shared history and individual trauma that led to this situation.
The characters Mila crafted are amazing! Sweet and loyal Zeke, crazy Cyrus who wields his humour like a shield, and deeply broken Lev who craves to be loved. All of them carry so, so much baggage and deep wounds and they all have different approaches to deal with it. Some more than others. I loved watching them interact and grow. Azadeh is the one who holds them together - a difficult task when she fights so hard for the people that have no voice and I'm deeply moved by her as a character.
Feral is the first dark romance book - the first romance in general - that I've read that dives into Iranian culture like this. Since Iran is where my own roots are, this meant a lot to me!
The brutal political situation of Iran is a major aspect of this book, but so is the beauty of the country and its rich culture. To see it displayed, ingrained easily into the plot, was something I didn't know I needed. Replacing the often found stereotypes about Iran, that are usually far from the truth, Mila portrayed an unshaded, full picture of the incredibly beautiful and the painfully terrible. She made me feel closer to my roots than I have in a very long time.
I randomly started listening to this because teddy was narrating it without realizing its book 5. I was very confused with the story and i cant fairly rate this. I finished it but the writing style was not for me unfortunately.
I listened to this as an audiobook and boy was that a time and a half.
This story was wildly complex and had the same amount of depth as the sex scenes within it. This story broke down injustices in the world and the traumas caused by them in a way I never thought possible. I was pleasantly surprised at how well written this was.
Secondly, the narration and performance of this audiobook? Spectacular. There are a lot of my favorite narrators in this book, and everyone did an incredible job.
Lastly, I’d listen to a vacuum commercial if it were done by James Cassidy. That man’s voice puts my thoughts to rest and my anxiety takes a back seat. I highly doubt he reads these and it seems weird to say on a review of a smut novel, but he is literally healing people with the power of his voice and he doesn’t even know it.
Only got a few pages in and there is already spice! I was hooked after the first chapter and couldn’t put it down. It was well written and definitely a great read.
3 MMC and a FMC who had not only spice but love for one another. The FMC is a force to be reckoned with and the. 3 MMC all had their own unique personalities. I loved Cy but also loved Zeke & Lev (just a little less)
I also loved that there was a couple of recipes included 🤩 I can’t wait to actually make the meal and try it 🤤
“… some people are so desperate to get you to paradise that they force you to live in hell.”
“Good fucking girl. Remember, Hellcat, we may fuck you like you’re nothing but our dirty little whore, but you’re the queen of our universe.”

I love this story so much. I loved reading about the Persian culture, I need to eat some of this food!! (Peep the recipe in the beginning. I am definitely going to give it a go) and my heart broke reading about the life of an Iranian refugee.
The trauma and the love shared between theses damaged characters had my heart in a vise. And man was Az one badass FMC!! I love her!!
And in true Mila fashion 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ holy shit so HOT. Mila is the fucking queen of snowballing.
I like smut, but this was not for me. Four point of views, jumping back and forth in time, and a bucket load of physical and psychological trauma. The female MC fights for women's rights, and though a noble cause, it didn't add any quality to the story and gave the impression of a desperate attempt to make the book something more than just smut.
“No more running off. This is your place now. Our queen, our wife, our fuckin’ life.”
ugh i have a deep love for the darkly ever after series. if you loved princess stories growing up then you’re going to love these dark re tellings !
we got to see a deep connection with 4 majorly complicated individuals, Az, Zeke, Lev and Cyrus are so beautifully written. You get to see their relationship evolve from both past and present points of view that leaves you so captivated you’ll be begging for more.
tropes: ❤️🔥 gun play ❤️🔥 knife play ❤️🔥 found family ❤️🔥 mmmf ❤️🔥 why choose ❤️🔥 breeding ❤️🔥 fire play
This book isn’t for the ‘light dark romance’ readers. Aside from the dark spicy parts there is TRULY dark history behind each character that hits differently to the spicy menu you see before reading a book.
This book is soul-crushing and exciting and spicy and sad all at the same time.
Full of less common kinks in other books I’ve read, the scene with the straw…iykyk made me have to stop reading for a minute I did NOT see that coming.
I keep trying to revert back to romantasy books but dark romance just keeps creeping up on me.
I saw this book on tiktok but I think it’s darker than the typical booktok recs
I liked the backstory about escaping from religious oppression but other than that it felt like a lot of nothing happened beyond them banging almost nonstop. It definitely could’ve benefited from being like 100 pages longer. But despite that, it was super hot! 2 of these stars alone are based on how great the smut was haha!
This was delicious 🤤 I loved this book so much , Cyrus had me melting tbf they all had me melting 🙊🫠 the audio of this book is hot 🔥 the degradation the anal play 🫠🫠🫠🫠 gimme more I need more Mila Crawford 🥵 your audios are always excellent 👌 Am I fucked up 🫣 Hell yes I am haha 😜
What can I say about Feral other than it was unhinged and completely enthralling? Zeke was the protective sweetheart, but only for her. Cyrus was absolutely wild, hilarious, and dirty as hell. Lev…the quiet kind of lethal. And Azadeh, the star of the show, a badass in her own right, a vigilante, and deranged as hell. We LOVE IT 👏🏽 Yall, there was this scene….with a straw….iykyk, if you don’t, fafo. The banter between Cyrus and Zeke had me laughing out loud…dick slapping contest…really, need I say more? And the FMC and the way she lays claim to her men was hot hot hot. They’re basically 4 psychos finding solace in one another and let me just say, you’re not ready but take the leap anyway. It was a thorough entertaining read and an even better audiobook.
Samantha Brentmoor, Teddy Hamilton, JF Harding, and James Cassidy killed this audio performance. They captured the essence of the characters flawlessly.
oh my lanta 🫠 once you get towards the end dont read or listen at work! this book is FILTHY and it basically feels like a reward after feeling all of the emotions you felt during the rest of this book
My main problem with this book is that the chapters were jumping back and forth to different times in their life, and it was really weird. It also felt like I wasn’t given enough background for all of them; they just said what had happened in the past sometimes without actually SHOWING what happened, which disappointed me.
*Narration cast was top notch, and James Cassidy’s voice sounds like sin 😈🔥
arguably the best one of the series. if you’d like an insight into Iranian culture, i feel like this gave you that perspective while also being a good romance & spicy af
If I could give it more stars I would! I’d all the darkly ever after books Mila has done this is by far my favourite, Mila is the spice queen and I will forever scream that but this book is more than that. It’s more than the theme of religious trauma child hood trauma that usually is broached in her writing this is just next level This book taught me things aswell as giving me a new perspective and I was devastated when I finished it I want more it them of Az and her story I’m so in love 🖤🥹
Audio review added; When I thought I couldn’t possibly love this book more, Samantha Brentmoor brining azadeh to life was EVERYTHING I think this is one of her best works, the emotion the accents the pronunciation it was exquisite. This book had a full cast made up of Samantha, Teddy Hamilton, j.f. Harding and James Cassidy. This was my first audio listening to James and my gosh if he hasn’t made a life long fan out of me the way he brought the neediness out in Lev’s voice I’ll never get over it.
The performance from all four always immense the narrators truly have you connecting with the story, the work they put in to bring this story to life honestly mind blowing I’m still in awe about it. I feel like this is my favourite of Milas audio books and it’s going to hold the bar performance wise from now on
I don’t know what I was expecting with this I guess. This was my first book by Mila Crawford but I am familiar with writing style.
I did enjoy the way she incorporated actual global issues into the plot, it made the story feel more real and will shine light on real issues.
I liked that each of the mmc’s are all different but have one common goal - Azadeh.
Now where I got a little lost, I understand the story itself isn’t very long but Lev kidnapping Azadeh’s sister to then be subsequently kidnapped again felt rushed and kind of choppy. I got the general gist of beauty and the beast but was expecting more.
The sexual content was definitely featured things I forgot existed and had to google the terms.
Overall, it was entertaining and I’m sure some of my followers will probably enjoy this much more than I did.

First of all, a big thank you, Mila Crawford, for paying so much attention to the details and presenting Persian culture in an amazing and honorable way I really enjoyed listening to its audiobook and it was the main reason I started it at the first place in addition to the fact that the main female character is Persian. I agree that it's not a book that everyone is looking to read or like because of its genres, however, to me it was the best book I read, and as my first experience,e I enjoyed it a lot. the other reason that I started this book was the Iranian Persian culture that mentioned regularly in a unique way. the characters development was perfect I mean the writer wrote the chapters in a way that you can read the present and past, which gave me a great way to get attached to each character and finding out why their behaving like this or you know what happened to our lovely 3 men. it's not the normal romance books you see on booktok; I felt that in addition to the smut parts between these four people there was an invisible link, emotionally between characters and the thing that surprised me was the fact that each 3 men fell in love with her soul and not her body at the first place. (anyway, I still can’t figure out how to manage loving them equally. Come on girl, it is so hard.) Now about the story itself, the pace was really good; it wasn't too fast or too slow. There was a way in the writing style that motivated me to read more and fill myself with information about them. to be honest it doesn't have any special plot twist(right, don't expect someone out of nowhere come and just kidnap that girl and the 3 men start a mission to rescue her, not exactly like the normal romance books) it has some plots about their stories but not the one you think based on the previous romance books you've read. I really want to know if the writer has a Persian boyfriend or friends around her because the culture that she presented was exactly the same as its original, and at some point, I thought that I was in the middle of a Persian family. she really did a great job at presenting Persian culture to the world in addition to mentioning what happens to girls and women during the evolution and how they are starting to rise again, against the people that tried to cut their wings and take the freedom from them; so as a Persian again, I'm so grateful for this book and the writer who wrote everything based on real events and mentioning every Turning Point in Persian culture. (Compared to other books, now that I think it is 3 stars.)
Once again Mila has me in a chokehold with her books, I'm 100% convinced that she could convince me to jump off a bridge or join a cult and I would ask for more. Am I slightly upset with her for doing me dirty when it comes to reusable straws...very much so. But somehow that won't ever stop me from reading any of her books.
I loved all the history and detail that went into this story, not only was it dark and dirty and oh so smutty - it was eye opening and heart wrenching learning about the terrors and hardships within the Persian culture. Azadeh's journey to turn that pain into sweet sweet revenge and help others was one of the best parts of this book. Definitely check your triggers and go into this book with not only open eyes but open hearts.
I don't know how she does it, but these books just keep getting filthier. Dirty Talk. Snowballing. Praise and Degradation. Knife Play. FIRE PLAY. Just absolute feral filth and I devoured it! This book may have the ultimate pew pew play scene yet, so bravo Mila. And the MM scenes, jesus take the wheel, I am DRENCHED over here.
I found this book accidentally in Instagram as bookrec. It starts with this dedication:
✨‘For anyone born in Iran after 1979. You deserved better.’✨
Now as a Persian girl who was born in 2001, I had to read it.
I sobbed. I don’t know if Mila is Persian herself or if she has an Iranian friend, but she pulled it off beautifully.
“Never forget that it was women who led the Persian Immortals.” - Nasrin Baran
(I have to add that there are several pieces of misinformation or exaggerated scenes and some are not so much. And obviously some more terrifying aspects of our life hasn’t been described -I’m not saying it should’ve I’m just putting it out there that things that happened in the storyline aren’t the worst things that happen-)
I’m very fond of this book and I can’t stop wondering if non-Iranians also do find the little that was described of our culture in this book, as colorful and warm as we do ourselves.
"Scars are maps. They show the roads taken on a journey. I think yours are interesting." - Azadeh Baran
Now let’s get to the technical shit shall we?
- I feel like it was the first draft of the book and it wasn’t read and edited before being published because there were a couple errors in it (aside from typos, of course)
- I still don’t know what Azadeh really does. What we know is that she’s a vigilante (like Zade) that helps women and children. How? By what means? I feel like there was a potential here for elaboration
- There wasn’t really much of a plot here. I mean I could’ve used a little adrenaline at least when they were on the mission. (You know, it wasn’t enough. It could’ve been more and better)
- I still don’t know what was it exactly that Lev’s parents did to him. And why was he having trouble with intimacy… (it was very vague)
"You're the girl who never wants to stay, no matter what I do. Divaneh shodam, jané del-am. (I've gone crazy, the life of my heart.)” - Ezekiel Summers
(One of the MMCs actually learned Persian to be able to communicate with her better🫠)
And honestly that’s my opinion. I hope you’re enjoying it more than I did. And yes I gave it 4 stars because, well, I’m biased. By the way, I made sure I recommended it to any of my Persian friends who are into dark romance.
Ooh my favorite part is the audiobook that is a full cast duet and one of the narrators is Teddy Hamilton.🔥
Let me know what you think. Check the TW. Be safe. Kisses💋
