How can Halbrind ever redeem himself when Segresh the shaman, his plight, is turning the entire clan against him? Constantly met with failure and deeper betrayal instead of his hope for redemption, it's a tragic arc with epic battles and more than a few surprises on the way, as well as a change in political landscape as the clans join against a common enemy and end up facing a far more formidable opponent than they were initially expecting.

Yet another fascinating read from J.W. Meyer's writing talent, keeps the reader intrigued and involved. Action-packed, fast-paced sword and sorcery adventure, yet emotional as well. These chronicles just keep getting better.

Considering how evident and deep Halbrind's connection and loyalty is to his clan, it is saddening how the shaman has succeeded in turning so many against him. Halbrind now has to come to terms with bitter truths and bitter-er lies, while his legend continues to grow, in good and bad. Curious to see where his road leads him now... No rest for the Restless, eh?
