It's important for kids to learn about diversity at a young age. Diverse activities teach young children to respect and celebrate all of our differences.
What would happen if our pets, too, were diverse? What would it look like for a canine to assume feline characteristics?
This what happens in: MY DOG THINKS HE'S A CAT
From the author of the popular LITTLE BIT & BIG BYTE Series, QWERTY, The Forgotten Typewriter, and IF I HAD TEN DOLLARS comes a humorous story about man's "best friend" assuming another role.
Craig Feigh is a talented Children' Picture Book Author and Speaker. He is most noted for his highly acclaimed LITTLE BIT & BIG BYTE Series incorporating "technology related" characters.
ALL Craig's books are unique in that they are professionally illustrated utilizing vibrant computer graphics, have a hidden object to find on each page, include a B&W coloring page at the end, and teach a life lesson.
This is a book I received from Booktasters. This is sort of children book which your kid can read and enjoy. This is a funny story of a dog that thinks he's a cat! Does really Dog behaves like a cat? is it possible? Dog ofcourse hates cats, then how can Dog can behave like a cat?! Seems funny! Yes this book is all about fun! This is the second book I got from Craig, I loved this book as well. This book has funny illustrations too which gives an extra fun for kids to read. The language is easy-go so the story is. Enjoy your read!
This book is a charming and playful tale about a dog who insists on acting like a cat. The story is easy for children to follow, and the illustrations make every page delightful. A warm, funny read that celebrates individuality—great for bedtime!

Do you love dogs? Do you love cats? Do you love both? Then you will love this hilarious book about a dog who thinks he is a cat!
He’s a big and friendly dog who loves his family. But one day, he starts to act very strange. He chases mice, drinks milk from a bowl, and sleeps on the couch. He even tries to purr and meow!
What is going on? Why does he think he is a cat? And how will his family and friends react to his new behavior?
This book is a fun and entertaining way to teach kids about diversity and acceptance. It shows that we are all different and unique in our own ways and that we should not judge others by their appearance or stereotypes.
The author, Craig T. Feigh, is known for his witty and whimsical stories that make kids laugh and learn. He has written many other books, such as “Little Bit & Big Byte,” “QWERTY,” “The Forgotten Typewriter,” and “IF I HAD TEN DOLLARS.”
The illustrator, Patrick Carlson, is a talented artist who brings the characters and scenes to life with his colorful and detailed drawings. He also adds some extra fun to the book by hiding an object on every page for the readers to find. And if that’s not enough, he also provides a coloring page for the kids to enjoy.
This book is easy to read and perfect for young readers who love animals and humor. It will make you smile, giggle, and maybe even bark or meow!
I highly recommend “My Dog Thinks He’s a Cat” to anyone who wants a good laugh and a valuable lesson. And don’t forget to check out the other books by Craig T. Feigh. They are all paw-some!
I received a copy of this book from the author, publisher, or tour company.
Unless noted above, it is from my library or Kindle Unlimited.
My Dog Thinks He's a Cat.its a heartwarming and humorous story that captures the quirks of pet behavior in a way that feels relatable and endearing. The playful premise of a dog acting like a cat is both unique and entertaining, making it a delightful read.
My favorite character is the dog himself, who believes he’s a cat. His antics and attempts to mimic feline behavior are hilarious and charming. His innocence and determination to fit in with the cats make him incredibly endearing, and I found myself rooting for him throughout the story.
This book is perfect for everyone.Children will love the funny and whimsical storyline, while adults will appreciate the underlying themes of identity and acceptance. It’s a lighthearted read that can be enjoyed by all ages, especially animal lovers.
While the book is enjoyable, I felt that some parts of the story could have been developed further. Certain scenes felt a bit rushed, and I would have loved to see more depth in the interactions between the dog and the cats. Additionally, the ending, while sweet, felt slightly predictable.
The pace of the book is generally quick and engaging. It moves along smoothly, keeping the reader entertained with its humorous moments and light-hearted tone. However, as mentioned earlier, some sections could have been expanded to allow for more character development and emotional depth.
Overall, My Dog Thinks He's a Cat is a fun and charming read that brings a smile to your face. It’s a great choice for anyone looking for a light, feel-good story about the quirks of our beloved pets.
This children's book was a real find. I have already read it several times with my children, who simply adore it.
The story is about a dog that thinks it's actually a cat. His owner simply cannot understand how his dog has changed and behaves like a cat. But in spite of everything he loves him and in the end accepts him for what he is…..a dog that acts like a cat. But to make things even better, eventually his cat started behaving like a dog.
This story tells us that there are differences in the world and if we love someone, we will love him regardless of his changes. It also teaches us that all diversity should be accepted as such, because each of us is unique in our own way.
What is great for children is that there is a hidden object in each picture that they then have to find. The book is completely adapted to younger ages. The colors are so vivid and the illustration is great.
Many thanks to Booktasters and the author Craig T. Feigh for providing me with such a wonderful copy and certainly delighting me with this children's story.
Children love to copy things they find interesting, like a dog barking, or dad’s posture while standing, even how mum talks sometimes, those little traits we sometimes tend to forget. I wonder if you noticed this too. My Dog Thinks He’s a Cat displays such traits. This book first introduces diversity to the reader, “in this universe, even pets can be diverse” A cat meows and a dog barks, each with a unique trait that defines them. This book tells the story of the changes a dog owner finds in his pet dog, these changes are of course frustrating to the owner, his dog seems to have forgotten how to behave like a dog, picking its new characteristics from a cat. The dog’s owner, obviously frustrated by this, still accepts that his dog is unique.
I do not just recommend this to children, I recommend this book to parents and people who want to learn even the little things about children. Like the dog in this book, children need to be handled with patience, with love because oftentimes they want to be everything even a dog!
Thank you to Booktasters for sending me this book in exchange for an honest review!!
While I am obviously not the target demographic for this book, I can appreciate its beautiful illustrations and funny dialogue. Not going to lie- I don’t know if it’s because I am immature or have the mindset of a 4-year-old, I let out a few chuckles when I was reading this book so take that as you will. I read a lot of English books with kids in my free time because I work as a part-time tutor so I can definitely see my students engaging with this book because of its vibrant illustrations when we read this book together in class:) The whole plot is very silly and the dialogue is so easy to understand. It is also really interactive and the last page even has a colouring section which I think is a lovely treat for kids to do after they finish reading this book! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who has kids and is trying to find a good book to read to them!
This books is an easy-to-read, visually stimulating picture book perfect for young children. The colorful illustrations and vibrant imagery do a great job of capturing attention, making it fun and engaging for early readers. The simple language and humorous premise of a dog behaving like a cat make it enjoyable for children, especially those just starting to explore books on their own.
However, while the book is visually appealing and accessible, the deeper theme of diversity might be too complex for children to fully grasp on their own. Parents or educators will likely need to step in to explain the concept of diversity and embracing differences in a way that’s easy for children to understand. The book offers a great opportunity for guided discussions, making it a helpful tool for teaching inclusivity.
Overall, this is a lovely book for young readers, but it shines the most when used alongside an adult who can help break down its important lessons about diversity.
A children's book with very good illustrations, colorful, and that make you stay tuned to the story, also looking for the easter egg on each page.
It speaks quite clearly about diversity, and that at any time in our lives we can make changes (as in the end where the cat thinks he is a dog). I think it is a good way to introduce our little ones to the different ways of life in an easy to understand way. You can see that the first impression when someone acts differently (in this case the dog), our first feeling can be great confusion, but once we see the situation well we can feel acceptance, just as it happens to the master of the dog. I also think it can help some children to express if they feel different and to know that they will be accepted by those around them. In summary, I think it is a very well told and illustrated story that can help many children.
Booktaster sent it to me and I took this PDF to read it to my twin nieces this was such a cute read, however, they were quite puzzled (as well as I was) about why a dog thinks he is a cat so I tried to explain some people feel a certain way when they are another way. I can't entirely agree with the philosophy of inclusion so this is mostly my point of view and opinion and will focus on the illustration and narrative, it was an easy read, and the art is very cute and fluid kept my nieces entertained, and they were debating whether how is possible a dog can feel the way a cat feels since they are different animals, I like their common sense lol! So it was nice to lead my nieces to a deep conversation regarding these topics.
My Dog Think hes's cat by craig T. Feigh Author who make children's books with incredible art and easy to understand
the books tell about how animal can be diverse as the person who have different things and how to accept it if on this world have unique things that we need to know. The dog family that purchased aim to protection but seems like a cat who need affection and hiding on the house stuff act like cat. He loved long outside, bring out sound like cat (meow and purr), licking the body every time and another things can we define its was a cat.
The art that author make was so colorful, it can be one of reason to persuade child to read it.
The cons was the plot i think is to short and no reason why the dog act like cat, because every unique things have a reasone
The brightly colored cover art and the title grabbed my attention first off. I once had a cat who had behaviors of a dog. So wow! A dog who thinks he's a cat?! The illustrations are wonderful and the 'cat-like' behaviors are pretty funny. I will say as a retired school teacher the inclusion of the hidden brush to hold attention while reading and the coloring page to reinforce the story, would be a trick I would incorporate in my classroom teaching because it keeps the children engaged. 5 stars from me! Truly unique depiction of how our differences make this life more fun to live. I mean how boring would it be if we were all the same!? This book was sent to me for an honest review.
Grandparents.. this is a MUST HAVE! My Dog Thinks He's a Cat by Craig T. Feigh
We all have our quirks, and it’s ok! Embracing differences is something all children usually know instinctively, but this book gives even the reader something to laugh about. Page after page your child will have the chance to find the hidden object and look at the colorful illustrations. The book is super short and will make an easy bedtime read, or short game before nap time. Good for both dog lovers and cat lovers (I just happen to be both). I look forward to reading this one to my granddaughter when she comes for a visit. She likes find-the-object games, and she will laugh at the dog doing cat-like things. Sharing a laugh and reading books together make for some of the best memories.
Thank you to Booktasters for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I’m not the target readership for this book for obvious reasons, however I did think it was fun to read. The illustrations were so vivid, and it is clear that the author and the illustrator worked together closely on it. The story was fun, and the rhyming would make it super accessible for a younger child to read.
I also really liked the addition of the colouring page at the back. It’s not something you see as often in kids books anymore, and it’s a nice touch as it actively engages kids in what they’re being read.
This book tells the entertaining story of a dog who has started behaving differently. Instead of doing the things a dog is supposed to do, he is doing all the things that cats normally do! This situation is shown throughout the story through words and beautiful illustrations. There is a twist at the end of the story that I did not expect! Readers would enjoy this simple and delightful story, which also conveys a message about respecting diversity and accepting it with an open mind and welcoming heart! I enjoyed reading this well-intended and well-written book. Young readers should give it a read.
This is a charming children's book, about a dog who thinks he's a cat. The story is intended to teach children about diversity, and celebrate the fact that everyone is individual and unique.
The story is told through rhyming sentences, with bold, colourful illustrations. I found it fun to read, and it brought a smile to my face. Plus, there's a little puzzle element (find the hairbrush on each page), and a colouring page at the end!
I think young children will really like this cute, fun little story.
I find this book amazing, like the graphic is really colourful and wonderful for the kids. And the fact that in every pages there is to find an object and make kids more funny and interesting the reading and there is not too much text to bore children but instead everything is well expressed by the images. The situations that happen are really very funny and in this case the dog is the protagonist has been created really well. And the hidden meaning is really important to make children understand the respect for other people who are very different from us for their diversity.
It's bright, colorful and has coloring pages. It's very cool and eye-catching, I loved it. there will always be those who criticize, but those habits make you unique, so a book full of illustrations is a very good support when it comes to teaching the younger ones.
3.5 stars As a whole, it was a cute book and it had a great premise. I liked how it included the coloring pace as well as the scavenger hunt on each page, it’s a great way to get kids involved in reading. The illustrations felt very classic newspaper cartoon styles, which was a fun blast to the past. While the message of the book was good, I wished it had been more fleshed out, as it felt a bit abrupt. I would recommend this for young kids who need that interactive element to stay engaged while reading with a parent.
I loved this little story about a dog who thinks he's a cat. It was really adorable how the dog started to change his behavior so that his owner realized that he now has a cat.
The moral of the story is that everyone is unique, and that should be celebrated.
This time I had the opportunity to read this book to my little niece, and she was very happy with it and loved the part about looking for the little brush on each page.
I first want to thank BookTasters and the author Craig T. Feigh for giving me a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!
My Dog Thinks He's a Cat is an entertaining children's book and I absolutely loved it! The illustrations really brought the story to life, and I loved seeing all of the funny drawings showing what the dog was up to. The main lesson of the book is about how differences make us unique and it was written in a very fun way!
I really really liked this book. Funny, entertaining and a perfect story for children to read. This book does a really good job of showing children that a person could have a different identity that doesn't conform to their physical appearance. I think all progressive parents should give this book or read it to their little children.
Thank you to Booktasters and the author for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is one of the most fun book I have read in a very long time. The story is short, delightful and entertaining. Its all about being unique and embracing diversity. This book will be enjoyed by cats and dogs lovers. My little niece especially became obsessed with this book. She just couldn't stop laughing as to why a dog would think he is a cat. Author is quite clever and highly intelligent. Thank you booktasters for always bringing much needed entertainment to my busy life.
It's the first time I've read a children's comic story since I was a little kid, I've read this book to my little nephew and we've had fun together, it's a simple book that contains pictures of the story and that makes it fun for the reader, it also contains hidden things inside the drawings which makes the little child focus more on discovering the secret, I'm kind of big on these types of books, but I found it useful and fun for young children.
This wonderful children's book will entertain the whole family. Children like bright and interesting illustrations, as well as easy-to-remember text. That book contains not only a humorous short story but also a quest in pictures where you need to find a hidden toothbrush. A black and white coloring page will also allow you to get creative. Many thanks to the author Craig T Feigh and illustrator Patrick Carlson for their subtle sense of humor and the fun we had.
As an adult that grew up in a household with a dog that acted like a cat, I found this children’s book to be a delightful stroll down memory lane. The premise is ridiculous and fun while also hinting at larger lessons that kids need to learn. The art is crisp and expressive while also staying true to its comic roots.
First of all, thank you to Booktasters and Craig Feigh for the oportunity of reading this book.
I loved it! The illustrations are beautiful and so is the message it conveys! The dog started acting like a cat to get the owner's attention and in the end the cat thought it was a dog. I recommend this story to little ones!
This is a cute read for sure! Had me giggling out loud at times. The illustration is very cool too. I think the message this book is trying to convey is to teach children about diversity and how everyone can have their own little quirks! And that's what makes them unique. I like that this book includes other activities than reading, like finding hidden objects and coloring, loved that!
Thank you Booktasters for sending me this book to read with the kids I babysit!
They really enjoyed the illustrations within the book and the silly actions the dog was doing throughout the story. I think this was an easy read to keep them entertained. Also, they loved looking for the hidden brush in each page! Perfect add!
A comic book for Littles! My 6 and 3 year old LOVED this story. It was chaotic in the best way and kept my kids attention the entire time. The art work here is something I'm used to seeing in comics and manga; it was truly beautiful. They giggled the entire time and were excited to see what this cute dog who thought he was a cat would do next!
