Emma suffered through her childhood in an orphanage only to then struggle to barely keep herself off the streets. That is, until she met Ryan and Marco.
The problem? One alpha wants to love her, the other one wants to hurt her.
Females are rare in the world of weres, and her inherited royalty status from the parents that abandoned her make her all the more valuable to Ryan. He wants her, and he will get her, regardless of the crimes he has to commit to do so.
Marco scented Emma as his from the second he laid eyes on her. Growing up with no one to rely on but herself, Emma fights her attraction to Marco, running away from his advances…until Ryan crosses the line and endangers them all over her.
Quickly, Marco and his pack, Emma’s new pack, ready themselves for battle, prepared to fight hard to protect her, but a surprise twist will have her soon protecting them and bearing her heart on her sleeve.

I was born and raised in Charleston, SC, but now live in the hottest place on earth: Orlando, FL. I have three beautiful children who keep me running non-stop. When I'm not juggling life and kids, you'll find me huddled away somewhere writing my next book or happily reading someone else's. Like most authors I've come across, I'm a coffee addict, own far too many books than I can fit on my shelves, and I go to work in my pajamas a lot.
So at first I was a little confused but then I found myself enjoying the book. It was a tad all over the place at times though. It was decent. Wasn't my favorite but I liked it.
I liked this book a lot, but had a few problems with it.
If you think Bella Swan or any other main/female character in a paranormal book is annoying... you obviously haven't read this. Emma, the main character, is SO annoying I'd love to slap her a few dozen times throughout the book. She aggravates me to no end, and I suppose it's because she has always fended for herself and never needed anyone's help before that she's so hardheaded, but it really drives me nuts how long it takes her to actually come to terms with/accept letting others take over/help her once in a while.
Also, the other tiny problem I have with the book is the whole time you're reading it, it has the feel of a young adult read until you get further than halfway in and then that's where the erotic/adult read takes over. I just found it strange that it was so wholesome and young adult sounding until all of a sudden, BAM, the erotica hits you in the face.
All of that said, I think this book was better written than the others, especially the Vampeen books.
I absolutely love Christin and so when I saw her new title, I had to have it. It did not disappointment. I could not put it down and read it all in one sitting. She added her own tweak to were lore and even though the romance followed a typical plot, I did not mind at all. The characters were flawed, but interesting and likable. The interactions between Emma and the younger members of the pack was a hoot. Overall, I simply enjoyed my time reading this book. I really hope Christin has a new read coming soon because I have read her whole library and some of them more than once.
While this is not YA, the parts that make it not YA are not at all abundant or overly explicit. I still would not recommend this for anyone under 18.
A sweet and enjoyable quick read. Loved the story and characters. The hero was definitely swoon-worthy! Although short but it has depth and there's a lot of emotions in there. This book is certainly better than most short story. :)
Christin Lovell has done it again. Her stores are beautifully woven, the lust, power and dominance is enticing and you just fall totally in love with her heros. A must read.
