Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Keisha Ervin is a prolific writer and devoted mother. Her success has drawn much deserved attention to herself and her hometown. She is the author of the National Best-Sellers Chyna Black, Me & My Boyfriend, Mina's Joint and Hold U Down, as well as the novel Torn and the short story After the Storm, featured in the Street Love anthology.
I'm trying to understand the mind set of the author....in the first book Corey Mills is this loving respectful caring individual and he recues Farrah from this relationship that is no good for her...Farrah was in a relationship with Khalil and was everything for and to him and in return, he's lied, cheated, and disregarded her feelings. So Mills basically saved her....Now in book 2, the author turns Mills into a fuck boy for a brief period of time (after all he did and went through in the first book to help and save her from an individual that was verbally abusive as well as an alcoholic). He gets in ex pregnant after a one night stand because he thought Farrah went back to her ex....they straighten out...Mills' ex has the baby and he decides to hide it....Then Farrah meets a rapper named JR and decides after all of the going back and forth with Mills that she wants to spend her life with him after he and Mills get into a fist fight and Mills finally decided to come clean with everything...this entire 8 hour book was foolishness....this is actually the 6th book I've read/listened too from this author and they're all the same....she throws out a lot of celebrity names as well as designers in every story (most of the time, the narrators do not pronounce the designer name's correctly)....Her stories are riddled with trauma, drama & struggle....I've had enough!
Farrah tried to love Mills through his lies, deceit, and infidelity but it just wouldn't work. They definitely had no business getting married. Especially after Farrah found out Mills hid a life changing secret that crushed her heart. Continuing on with that wedding was a disaster. Mills was a selfish, condescending , arrogant, narcissistic, habitual and pathological liar. Him and Jade were made for each other. JR was the better man for Farrah anyway. He showed her how to be loved properly. He kept it brutally honest with her. However even after divorcing Mills trifling ass and JR being in the picture. Farrah messed up after assuming JR cheated on her. When he didn't. Running back to Mills and believing his lies only ended up in more heartbreak. Jade was a simple minded, money hungry, opportunist. She knew Mills wasn't over Farrah and was playing her but she didn't care since she had the baby, the man , and his money. I love Farrah best friend London. She was very blunt and didn't sugarcoat anything when it came to her dislike for Mills and calling Farrah out for being his fool. Farrah knew in her heart that JR was the right man. Dealing back with Mills was her way of punishing herself for hurting JR but in the end. I'm glad she finally realized that Mills was a lying piece of s**t and she deserved better
I really enjoyed this story! It took me a long time to finally read this 2 book series. Farrah was so confused about love and she had to learn that all men aren't dogs and some really know how to treat a woman. Mills was selfish and it was all about him! Jade was a crazy person and just used men and when she had Jaysin she used her to get back with Mills. J.R. was such a great catch. She almost lost a great man! In the end it all worked out. I wish we could've gotten a glimpse of their love story! Some parts were far fetched like how much money Mills made but it's fictional for a reason! The thing I didn't get was why Farrah put up with so much carp from Mills, he turned out to be a jerk, he was so different in book #1. She ended up with a beautiful life together with J.R. It was a great read but many grammatical errors! I really did enjoy it!
This book right here was something else. My emotions were all over the place and once again I wanted to throat punch Farrrah, Mills and Jade. I loved how real London's character was when what needed to be said was said. I absolutely loved J.R's character and the ending of this book was one that left me with a smile on my face. It's about time Farrah made a smart decision. I look forward to reading more books from this author in the future and I definitely recommend this book if readers are looking for an urban read, but book 1 must be read first.
I decided to read all of the Keisha Irvin’s books that I missed during my hiatus from reading. I couldn’t believe that Mills fumbled Farrah’s heart after seeing what she went through with her ex. J.R. was the truth! I was so mad at Farrah for messing that up but happy to know how things ended. London was a good friend to Farrah. I loved the way they were always there for each other. Great series!
I still do not recommend. This book was slightly better but not much better than the 1st. A waste of money & time. Glad I got it from the library. Farrah was an idiot. Mills was low-key abusive. J.R. was a 🐈 and London sorta had some sense but she did the most & was annoying. Lots of back & forth. To the point it made me dizzy. Seriously. Physically dizzy. And the grammatical errors were plentiful. And whatever happened to Teddy?
I absolutely loved every minute of reckless so I knew part 2 wouldn't disappoint and that it didn't Keisha had me on pins and needles about who Farrah was going to choose but she chose the right man at the end great Keisha u did that
The first book I picked up, checkout of the library, and finished in two days. This book introduced me to a genre that I knew nothing of and now can't get away from. I fell in love with the characters as if I knew them and the ending was what I was rooting for.
As always Keisha Ervin delivered. If you like excitement, you should read this book. There is a typo on page 239. It should read,Tamar Braxton was stated to perform. It reads, Tamar Braxton was slated to perform.
Man Farrah was getting on my nerves. How much disrespect was she goi g to take. I takes one time for a person to show me who he/she is and I’m believing int and and acting accordingly.
It took me about a day to finish this book. I am glad that I do not read these types of books on a regular basis. The author tries to make us believe that a BMX biker can afford an eight million dollar house and a new Mercedes for a woman that he is cheating on. One of the main characters has 500 suits and 300 pairs of shoes. A woman has unprotected sex on a second date. Sleeping back and forth with exes and a show down. So corny. Will not read any more books by this Author.
I have been a fan since back in the days....but I swear this book hurt my feelings. Good plot, good twists but did she really use a scene from Mina's Joint? Ms. Ervin if you don't want to write anymore then ok but do not give your fans sloppy work. The ending was trash and rushed. I expected wayyyy more from my favorite author.
This book was good , I felt the characters did not grow only financially wise. Farrah deserved better & I wish she would have realized that instead of believing Khalil's lies >_< / / / I'm glad I finished the book though . . . It would have been my favorite if Farrah knew her worth sooner... Khalil was wrong to Farrah and his baby mother . . .
3.5 Nice wrap up of the saga. I have no idea why or how Farrah put up with Mills for as long as she did. This guy lied to her face (least of all) upmteen times and still she still accepted whatever he dished out.
I suppose her worth was always in question but still...There were several comedic lines. Good read. I enjoyed it
It had been a while between reading the first book and the second. I started to remember a little as I read. But, it wasn't exactly hard to pick up. I take issue with certain things. But, Keisha Ervin is a great storyteller.
I was somewhat disappointed with Keisha Ervin's Reckless & Reckless 2. I wanted to read more about her and JR's life and their children. I do know he died. I needed more. Too much talk about her and Mills.
It was a pretty good book, but I definitely preferred the first one. Farrah reminded me of Dylan in matierial girl. Mills was a big asshole in this book and I really liked his character in part 1.
