African King Taka Olufemi has traveled over four hundred years to find the woman who holds the soul of his murdered queen and he’s a little cranky. With a ruby brooch as his vessel, the former king is forced to grant wishes to ungrateful mortals hoping to one day find, and win, the heart of his lost love.

But it will take more than good looks, superior intelligence and an impressive pedigree to earn the love of Violet Jackson. The ambitious interior designer doesn’t remember Taka or their history. Love—with its inevitable heartbreak chaser—has no place in Violet’s immediate life plan. All the handsome “genie” can do for her is pony up on the three wishes he’s promised and try not to be a pain while he’s at it.

While the arrogant king is praying for his submissive queen and the faithless object of his affection isn’t praying at all, guardian angel, Aniweto, is praying for them both. With Ani’s help, Taka and Violet’s epic love will be rekindled and this royal couple-behaving-badly will finally earn their happily-ever-after through the grace of the Almighty.

Glorious Sunset by Ava Bleu

Glorious Sunset by Ava Bleu tells the story of a strong African King who lost everything he loved and cherished and was blinded by his hatred and anger towards his Almighty Creator. King Taka was so distraught over losing the love of his life, Zahara, that he told God he did not want to live without her. Taka ignored all that was given to him by his Creator.

The Creator told Taka he was going to be placed in the ruby brooch to grant people wishes until one day when he would see the reincarnated Zahara again. However, she will not remember anything about him and it would be up to her if she wanted to be with Taka.

After 400 years, Violet Jackson comes across the ruby brooch and releases the King. Violet feels she has struck the lottery especially after what she has been going through. Her best friend Brenda stole her boyfriend and now is getting married to him, Brenda also lied about a decorating technique that Violet invented and patented and Brenda won a large contract because of it.

Taka doesn’t feel that Violet is his reincarnated queen because Violet is not as courteous and pleasant as Zahara was when she was alive. Taka feels that Violet is confrontational, argumentative and arrogant. (Basically the mirror image of himself)

Taka tries to show Violet that she deserves more, but while doing so, Violet teaches Taka not to be a stubborn, prideful man.

In GLORIOUS SUNSET, Bleu has written a story with characters that are well thought out and developed. You definitely see how Taka grows throughout the book. He is such an arrogant, prideful, stubborn person at the beginning of the book but slowly changes and is a different person by the end. The same goes for Violet. The flashback scenes enhance the reader’s ability to understand the thoughts and actions of the characters. Bleu’s writing provides the reader with a wonderful love story and entertaining read.

GLORIOUS SUNSET is definitely a fantastic book that you should take the time out of your day to read. It definitely makes you reevaluate your own relationship with God and what you think he has planned for you. This is the kind of book that makes you go through a roller coaster of emotions; you’ll want to laugh, you’ll want to cry but you’ll never regret getting on the ride since your life will have been enriched because of it.

A love that lasts across the ages...

African King Taka Olufemi can not believe his god has taken every thing from him. Most of his people were killed in a surprise attack and his kingdom is in ruin, but the crushing blow is the murder of the love of his life, his queen. Taka's rage against god lands him in a ruby brooch fated to grant wishes to those that rub the stone and hopefully one day find his reincarnated queen.

Four hundred years into the future, interior designer Violet Jackson is a force to be reckoned with. Her best friend, Brenda, has stolen her boyfriend and asked Violet to be her bridesmaid, then she stole Violet's decorating technique and is about to win Violet's rich potential client. Needless to say, Brenda is in for a rude awakening. Meanwhile, Violet finds an antique ruby brooch that just happens to be the very brooch that contains the miserable Taka. At last Violet has the added edge she believes she needs, three wishes to level the playing field with Brenda. At first Taka does not recognize Violet as his queen, after all Violet is brash and belligerent where his queen is soft spoken and agreeable. Taka has four days to win Violet's heart and his freedom. Will these two stubborn prideful people be able to learn their lesson from history or will their obstinance keep them apart?

Extraordinary author Ava Bleu gifts her readers with a uniquely creative love story that lasts across the ages in GLORIOUS SUNSET. Characters Violet and Taka are so much alike in strength, confidence and pride that they take over any scene and when they are together there is sure to be fireworks. Bleu handles the comparison of life today and four hundred years ago seamlessly, keeping readers informed and on track. Witty conversations and self-contemplation keep the characters real for readers as well. An exceptional read, GLORIOUS SUNSET by talented author Ava Bleu.

Glorious Sunset

What a brown story, Violet was annoying at first, but she grows on you as story progresses. Taka was simply amazing. I can't wait to read more books by Ava.
