The other week as I was leaving my local library, this book caught my eye for the second or third time. I'd seen it on one of my previous visits, but recognizing the cover yet again, I thought "Oh, what the heck? Let's pick it up." And oh boy. It did not disappoint. Books have a habit of finding their way into the right reader's hands, don't they?
The last hundred or so pages literally had my heart pounding. The "goodbye scene" as I'm now going to call it really hit home for me. I could relate to these characters in so many different ways. I saw similarities between the characters and people I know, people I knew—I've said those same words in parting! Ever since I finished it, it just won't leave my head. In a good way. But I'm not going to vent in a Goodreads review.
Needless to say, I need to locate a copy of the sequel sometime very soon.
My only qualm (just because I'm nitpicky like that) is that I did notice a handful of typos in the text. But honestly? I was too invested in the story to be too bothered by them. They can be overlooked.
