This book is about a dolphin who was rescued named Winter. Winter's tail was all tangled up in wire from the ocean, so her tail has to be removed. Thanks to a Doctor, winter got a prosthetic tail to help her live and swim, but the bad news is that she is in desperate need of a new best friend. Winter's best friend Panama died from old age and Winter can't be in her aquarium alone. Read this book to find out if Winter will survive without a best friend... Well a dolphin best friend. Will Sawyer and the rest of the team find another female dolphin to pair with Winter? If so, will they get along? Read this book to find out more wonderful relationships with animals and humans.
I would rate this book a nine in a half out of ten because I really enjoyed this book when I read it last year and in past years. The only thing that I didn't like very much was that the way that some parts didn't have as much details as other parts did. Overall I recommend this book to anyone who like/loves dolphins and friendship. The relationship between a teenager named Sawyer and Winter is a bond that can't be broken! I really hope someone else reads this AMAZING book.

Read this to my grandma as she was dying. Reminded me of all the times I made her watch this movie growing up. 9/10 only note is that some of the dialogue is not completely movie accurate and I stumbled over my words because I was going off of the movie in my head. Love you forever Gramma 💕

I never watched the movies and I only vaguely knew about Winter's story going into this short little novel. I read it one day at the pool (it's super easy to read) and it caught me by surprise how emotional it made me. It was extremely sweet and touching to witness Winter coping with loss and learning to heal. I knew it probably had a happy ending, but I found myself holding my breath all the same.

Winter is the dolphin that made national headlines by learning to swim with a prosthetic tail. She is happy living at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium with her tank mate, Phoebe. Then tragedy strikes, Phoebe dies and Winter becomes despondent. Not only that, the law states that dolphins can't live alone. If the staff doesn't find another dolphin soon, Winter will be shipped away.

Then Hope arrives, in all ways. Hope is a baby dolphin found near the coast. If Hope can recover there is a chance she can live with Winter. But it's not that easy. Even if Hope does get better, no one knows how she and Winter will respond to one another.

I really loved this book. It's written on a very simplistic level, but it was touching all the same. I'm even thinking about reading it to my 4th graders because it has such a great message of hope and overcoming obstacles.

I, for myself, I really love dolphins, I've watched AND read Dolphin Tale, and this is the sequel. I think it's a mature book, and there's a lot of decision making in the true story. I really love the true stories of Dolphin Tale. Because it's real, reality is the best.

I would really recommend this book, since it's touching, and full of suspense. I really enjoyed reading it, and hope you will too!

Sometimes you read a book, not because you think it will be good but because your son spent his allowance to buy you a Christmas gift - a book because he knows you love to read. And he managed to do it in a very secretive way. I had no idea until Christmas morning.

This book is almost like watching a movie with the descriptions for the visually impaired turned on. Have you ever done that? It's definitely written for children, so now that I've read it I'll be letting my son borrow it.

The book I read was Dolphin Tales 2 by Gabrielle Reyes and the genre of this book is non-fiction, which means it is based on real events. This book takes place in a real place named Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Florida. This book is about a boy named Sawyer and a dolphin names Winter who has a prosthetic tale.

Some background is Winter is a bottlenose dolphin and was found two months old tangled in a crab trap line, which lead to the loss of her tail. In this book Winter lives in Clearwater Marine Aquarium and has a good connection with her owner Sawyer. Winter loses and gains friendship and goes through heartbreak. This book also shows that animals have feelings too and can get sad.

I gave it 4 stars because It was good, but the book did not give lots of visuals and it drags out in the middle a little. I liked this book because it was interesting to see this dolphin and how it adapts, and I also liked that it was a true story. The most interesting part of this story is the unexpected ending which I am not going to tell you because it will ruin the ending. The least interesting part was the bits of the middle which was confusing because they did not give out too much information. The people who might like this book are people who like true stories about unique animals. I personal picked this book because I loved the first and second movie. I learned about how much animals are like people and their connection with people from this book. This relates to me personally because I went to Clearwater Marine Aquarium (the aquarium) in Florida a while back and saw Winter anyone can also see a live video feed of Winter in real time. All you must do is visit seewinter.com.

I highly advise this book.

The story begins with two kids Mandy and her older brother, they were out playing in the ocean when Mandy in countered a dolphin. The rescuse crew came and took the dolphin she had severe sunburn and inflammation. The story goes about through Swayers, Hazel, and Clay the main character's eyes. The team takes a huge downfall when they lose one of their beloved dolphins Panama had past away of old age leaving behind Winter the other dolphin that lived in the aquarium with her. Winter becomes very depressed due to the lost of Panama, the team trys their best to cheer her up but they also know that it is illegal to only keep one dolphin in captivity. Throughout the story Swayer is in between wanting to stay with the crew and make sure Winter is going to be ok but at the back of his head he is still thinking about the scholarship offer he received to work with aq animals. Mandy the dolphin makes a speedy recovery the team would love to keep her but they can not keep an animal if they are able to survive on their own. They let her go, this time they might really lose Winter. When all seemed lost they receive a call for help, they resucsed a smaller dolphin which later they named Hope. Maybe just maybe there is Hope for Winter, once Hope recovered they prepared and placed both dolphins in the water they don't really like eachother the first time because Hope finds Winter strange; no tail. The second time they successed and the crowed cheered they were able to keep Winter after all. Did Sawyer ever take the scholorship? Yes he did and I quote "Life is full of possibilities.

This book, Dolphin Tale 2, is about these two teenagers named Sawyer and Hazel. They find a baby dolphin in the shallow waters in Florida. They take the dolphin to the Aquarium and name her Hope. Hope meets the bigger dolphin Winter but Sawyer and Hazel do not know if the two dolphins will get along.
There are many figurative devices in Dolphin Tale 2. First it is Onomatopoeia: "Shaking the watch up a little, that is the only thing that gets it moving forward." (90) Next is Repetition: "Why? Why does everybody say that?" (76) Then there is Assonance: "Clearwater Marine Aquarium." (2)
They also have another Onomatopoeia: "She spun around to chase the third - Whap!" (64) Lastly there is another Repetition: "Whap! Whap! In seconds Mandy had gobbled up two fish." (64)
I liked this book, Dolphin Tale 2. It was very interesting and it made a lot of sense. It really does teach a lesson, like most other books. It teaches you that you can always help an animal or a person no matter who you are or what you are doing.

Although this is "based on" real dolphins, I haven't decided whether to tag biography and/or nonfiction. It's adapted from the movie, which makes me want to discount a point on principle UNLESS the movie was done with CG dolphins, since I loathe the idea of making REAL dolphins act the way they do in the story, just to entertain us humans.

Haven't looked up what they did to make the movie, just grading the book for now. (No, I haven't seen the movie.)

The story is predictable after a point, because they can't possibly make a movie like this with a sad "Well, we couldn't do anything, so that's that" ending and not have it flop. Also not helping is the colour inserts (which are all together due to how books are made) spoil what happens later, and I have a bad habit of reading books in page order unless otherwise necessary (Choose your own adventure stories).

It's a decent story, for what it's worth. I just find it a bit maudlin, I suppose, especially after being spoiled.

A young dolphin was rushed to the Clear Waters. Then they named it Winter. One time, when Panama her Grandma died, she got very sad and went under the dock and DID NOT COME OUT, not even for food. Then they got a call and on the beach of South Florida, somebody said, "We found a baby dolphin on the beach and it is really panicking." Then they rushed to the South Beach of Florida, found the dolphin, and then rushed it back to the Clear Waters. Then they named her Hope. The first time the two dolphins met, it did not go well. Winter didn't have a tail and Hope circled to see if she was perfect, but she was not. She noticed the small electric tail that did not look like a real tail. She had no real tail. The second time they met it went better because a doctor fixed up the tail to make it a real tale. Then they became friends. When they were released, they were friends forever. By: Violet

This book was very entertaining and it kept the reader engaged throughout. I never thought it was getting boring. While this isn't the hardest book to read, it is full of description. Every character is very well described and built upon.
The book starts by giving background details on how Clearwater Aquarium rescued the dolphin Winter. As the book progresses it mentions challenges that occurred in the process of maintaining the aquarium she lives in. First, the only other dolphin there dies, leaving Winter all by herself. Since dolphins need to be together, the rest of the book is about trying to find a female bottlenose dolphin for Winter to live with.
I would recommend this book to middle schoolers because it was a fairly easy read but very interesting.

Dolphin Tale 2: The Junior Novel adapted by Gabrielle Reyes is about 2 dolphins named Winter and Hope. Winter's tale was cut off cause it got caught in a crab trap. Thanks to Sawyer's genius idea, they had to make her a prosthetic tale because she wasn't swimming correctly. Hope was a baby, her blowhole was badly injured, had mucus coming out of her eyes, and was badly burned. They both live at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium. Hope is at risk of death, but the real question is will Winter accept her as a friend or an enemy? I would recommend this book to anyone who likes miracles and emotional stories.

Dolphin Tale 2 by Gabrielle Reyes is an incredible book based off of a true story!I think it is important to read books that are based off of true stories because it can change your perspective of the way you see things. What I mean by this is depending on the story,it will make you feel different ways. For example,Winter the dolphin's best friend had died at the beginning of the book. This makes me sad and it might make you sad too. This book is similar to other books based off of true stories because the stories are so heartwarming or heartbreaking. If I had to recommend this book to someone it would be to people who just enjoy a good true story.

The book Dolphin Tale 2: A Junior Novel, by Gabrielle Reyes, is about a dolphin that two kids found on the beach, and if the dolphin will survive or not. One day two kids find a dolphin on the beach, so they decide to call the Clear Water Marine Aquarium, so that they can rescue the dolphin. I enjoyed this book because, it shows how that there are people that want to help animals so that they can one day be released back into the water. This book connects to the world because I think it's important that people report something that they don't think is right either a person, or animal. I would recommend this book to someone that enjoys animas and helping others.

Sawyer was just a normal boy until one day when he went to the beach he saw something washed up on the shore, it was a dolphin! He was wrapped up in a very long and tangled rope, so sawyer on tangled him and called the rescue truck, and took the poor dolphin to the CMA.

I loved dolphin tale 2! this book told about how we need to take care of animals even water animals! All animals need help sometimes.

I recommend this book to anybody it is a great book to learn about taking care of any kind of any kind of animal even water animals!

OH MY GOD! This book have got me in flood of tears because it was so sad, which I kind of already knew just from watching the movies and reading the first book. I had pretty much the same amount of feelings as what I did while reading the first book. Nothing really changed. Book are really sad and it is so good that I would read this book over and over again.

This one was definitely based on the movie (and not the other way around). It had the dialogue of the movie and then narration in between based on what was happening in the movie. I like the story, though, so the book was fine.
