Kisses Cuddles Christmas and You: A Childhood Friends to Lovers Trans-Atlantic Christmas Novella

Rate this book
At the age of ten, I was confident of two

I was in love with my best friend, Sadie Beaufort.

One day, when we were old and gross like our parents, we would get married. However, I was pretty sure we wouldn’t have kids. Rumour had it that making babies was also gross.

At fifteen, Sadie still owned my heart, but things began to change. For example, the whole baby-making process seemed much, much more appealing.

Through tragedy and triumph, we were inseparable. Nothing and no one could ever come between us.

We were fated. Meant to be...or so we thought.

Bindi Kennedy lives in Melbourne, Australia with her husband, two eternally embarrassed daughters, and the true loves of her life, her fur babies. She loves potatoes, hates balloons, and has an unhealthy obsession with Scottish Highlanders in kilts.

When she’s not adding a heartfelt twist to her fun, flirty and spicy romcoms, Bindi can be found reading, or listening to Taylor Swift...probably while crying.

I was fortunate enough to be chosen to receive an ARC of this book. It was cute, sweet, heartbreaking and a lovely Christmas romance that brought two young lovebirds back together after so much had been thrown at them to tear them apart. Thank you for this arc and I’m excited to be a part of it in a small way. Sadie and Ollie forever ♾️

ARC REVIEW: I am an absolute sucker for a childhood best friends to lovers, and this novella was such a complete delight.

Sadie and Oliver are childhood best friends. Oliver is wise beyond his years and knows that he'll marry Sadie one day - of this he is absolutely certain. The two lose touch as teenagers and they love more than a decade apart before they find each other again and get their long awaited happily ever after.

I just loved this sweet story so damn much. If you're looking for a quick read that will give you the warm fuzzies and get you into the holiday spirit, you need this novella in your life.

Thank you so much Bindi Kennedy for this ARC. I just adored Sadie and Oliver and their love ❤️

I was so very lucky to be given an ARC copy of this adorable Christmas Novella by @bindikennedyauthor!

This book had me swooning from the first page! The unbelievable cuteness of 10 year old Ollie and Sadie wad my my fluttering. It felt like watching the cutest little kids shower each other with the most adorable affection!

So much happened to these 2 through their lives, but Ollie's unconditional love for Sadie absolutely shone through the entire book!

A quick Christmas filled swoonfest that was an absolute delight to read on a Sunday afternoon!

This was my first Bindi book, and I was definitely not disappointed. I can't wait to pick up more of your novels!

This is the first time I read a book written by this author and I think I must read another book to have a complete opinion with a whole story.

For this story, I think it was cute and a short read. I know it was a novella but I wanted more of both characters Oliver and Sadie.

What I loved the most was Ollie and his unconditional love, wow it was so cute.

I liked Sadie but didn’t fell in love with her. She wasn’t mature enough for me.

I loved seeing the past and present day, seeing how they grow. It felt real.

To resume, it was cute, heartbreaking, but also lovely. I would recommend this book for the lovers of Christmas books and novella.

I was lucky to receive this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and am leaving a review voluntarily.

ALL PROCEEDS FROM THE SALE OF THIS BOOK ARE BEING DONATED TO TWO DIFFERENT EPILEPSY FOUNDATIONS!

Inseparable as children, Oliver and Sadie are the best of friends. At the age of ten Oliver knows that him and Sadie are meant to be. At age fifteen, that love hasn't wavered, and if anything, it's only grown stronger. After losing touch with each other, and a transatlantic move, Sadie is beginning to think that it's time to let the childhood fantasy and her love for Oliver go. But what if they really were meant to be?

I've been meaning to read holiday themed reads for the past few years, but it's just something that I feel like I never get around to. When I saw the ARC for this one hit my inbox, I was so stoked because it's holiday themed and a novella which means that it's the perfect choice to help me hit my reading goal for the year!

I loved how organically the timeline in this story flowed. We meet Oliver and Sadie when they're ten years old and their friendship is absolutely ADORABLE! We grow with them into their teenage years when their friendship is turning into something more, and they're both very aware of it. After a shock revelation, Sadie moves away and then we fast forward to the age of 25 (I'm pretty sure it's 25, if not, 24. Apologies, it's been a week). We see Sadie pursuing her career in the medical field in the states and she's at the point where she's feeling like she needs to give someone else a chance to have a place in her heart. Sometimes in stories where there's a jump through ages, it can feel very unnatural and forced, but this one just had such a natural flow and feel to it. I felt like we really grew up with these characters and that was a lovely experience. I loved how the earlier years of their lives, the chapters were told through Oliver's POV, where the adult portion was mostly told through Sadie's. I don't know why, just something about that set up worked fantastically for this story.

I really enjoyed the characters of Oliver and Sadie as well. I also enjoyed the characters of Paddy and of the receptionist from the ranch, these two were such a fun addition to the cast and I am here for them. I'd love to possibly get more of a look into a story or stories revolving around these two. I don't know how, or what or where or when, but I feel like these two could have stories of their own for sure. One thing that I've consistently seen from Kennedy is that her supporting characters are enthralling and I love them just as much as the main characters. For a novella, the characters in this story are fully fleshed out and feel as real as if they were standing right next to me. They're not perfect, they make mistakes and they're beautiful in their flaws, to me, this is what makes them so believable and real.

All in all, this was such a cute and sweet holiday novella that has put me in the mood to add more holiday reads to my December TBR. For a novella, the characters and the story are well rounded, and I felt like the story was the perfect length. It gave us enough background information to give it the depth that was needed and I was super content when I read that last sentence. While yes, the story is fairly predictable, it was still such a refreshing read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I still got mad butterflies even though I knew what was going to happen. This was a wonderful palette cleanser for me, and I look forward to seeing what Kennedy does next. Trust me, this is an author to watch!

So there was nothing inherently wrong with this novella, but it just didn’t work for me. Everything was too fast-paced and i felt there was a lot of focus on things that weren’t important to the story. Whereas, there could have been a deeper exploration of the character’s backgrounds and their connection.

Sadie was a really sweet character. She had been through so many hardships and heartbreaks and really deserved to be loved and to love. I thought that there was an ok amount of character development, but would have liked to see way more. I felt the author could have delved deeper into Sadie’s emotions and exactly how her grief affected her as a young girl growing up. I just wanted way more from Sadie to feel a connection to her and to be more invested in her story. Oliver was a good character as well. We definitely got to see more into his thoughts and feelings and how strong the love was between himself and Sadie. But once again, there wasn’t enough depth to his character. It felt a bit surface level and there just wasn’t really anything to him. I didn’t connect to him either and I guess that just set my expectations for the whole story. I wanted to see more of Sadie and Oliver connecting again in the present and rebuilding their trust and love for each other, rather than just immediately finding each other and being together.

The writing was pretty great. There were definitely some really beautiful lines that showed the author’s talent. It was easy to read and I got through it pretty quickly. But there was also some mistakes and just some clunky writing in general which somewhat ruined the flow of the writing. I felt there was so much unnecessary information and detail in parts where it wasn’t needed. And lastly, I didn’t think the spice was really representative of the characters. They were both virgins but there was no fumbling around, it was all perfect and everything. It felt like something the author just added in to appease romance readers and I didn’t think it added to the story.

Overall, this was a cute story that just didn’t really work for me, but would definitely work for others looking for a sweet, Christmas novella.

Christmas is my favourite holiday and this book was a perfect read to get me into the christmas spirit.

I loved reading about how Sadie and Ollie's love story changed through the different years - 10, 15 and 25.

It was heartbreaking reading about Sadie's loss at such a young age but I think it only gave her strength going into adulthood.

I love all the sweet moment's Ollie and her shared as kids especially the moments with hubba bubba bubblegum.

They are torn apart but how they find their way back to each other is so sweet.

Bindi has the best sense of humour and it definitely came through in the words she wrote.
I was laughing so much and it kept me interested the entire time.

I am a sucker for anything Disney and I loved that part of the book.

I thought the spicy moments were perfect!! Ollie can have a dirty mouth when he wants to hehe

Overall, this was one of my favourites from Bindi and I cannot wait for whatever is coming next.

Bindi is being so generous that all proceeds from this book are going to Epilepsy Foundation in Australia and the Cameron Boyce Foundation in the US.

Be sure to add this to your holiday TBR <3

Thank you Bindi for kindly sending me this arc to read and review. This review is my own honest opinion on the book :)

"You are my heart and soul, Sadie and I know I am yours. So, it doesn’t matter if it’s England or here. I just want kisses and cuddles and Christmas and… you.”

- Childhood best friends to lovers
- Past & present chapters
- Set in both England & the US
- Both virgins
- Cinnamon roll MMC
- It's always been you
- Dual POV

Well, I binged this in a couple of hours! Kisses, Cuddles, Christmas and You is a really well-done Christmas novella. I liked that it started in the past and we got to see the strong connection between Oliver and Sadie as kids and then teenagers.

Then we fast-forward 10 years when the pair serendipitously meet again in Houston. While they've only ever loved each other, Sadie is afraid to give her heart to him as she'd already lost her parents and she didn't think she'd survive losing him as well.

But sweet sweet Oliver... once he found his Sadie again, he wasn't going to let her go! He was such a softie – writing weekly letters to her even though she kept returning them for two (!!) years. Keeping a present he was going to gift her over a decade ago. The fact they both saved themselves for the other – the epitome of the "it's always been you" trope. “First and last, Sadie. First and last.” Gah 🥹.

If you're looking for a short and sweet Christmas novella (with a hint of spice), I highly recommend this book. Plus, all proceeds are going to charity.

Thank you to Bindi for the early copy!

After previously reading a book written by Bindi, I knew I needed to read another.

The story between Oliver and Sadie was so sweet and cute. It broke my heart reading all the heart breaks Sadie and also Oliver had to face. Childhood sweethearts destined to be together but torn a-part. The letter writing reminded me of the movie The Notebook. Both characters were so sweet especially Oliver… such a “golden retriever”. Their love is strong ,and definitely screams: true love always finds away.

Personally, I found myself at times struggling to get through. I went into this thinking there would be more Christmas vibes and it lacked for me. I also felt the ending to be rushed, and the spice (which I did enjoy) to not match up with the characters… they gave off sweet and innocent vibes , being virgins and not having experience.

Overall I rate this between a 2-3 star rating. The story and idea itself was cute but I wish it was more Christmasy like I was hoping and more events that happened in the future instead of the present. I love Bindi’s novel Trouble in Love a lot and recommend that book / series more :)

This book arrived the other day and I’m so glad I managed to read it, in fact I read it in one sitting and enjoyed it from start to finish.

As it’s a novella we didn’t get to spend a huge amount of time getting to know Ollie and Sadie but I felt we got to know them well enough.

I adore childhood friends to lovers a lot so I was really excited to read this. I loved that we spent so much time getting to know them as children. They were the best of friends and adored one another so much that it was just so sad seeing them torn apart.

Fast forward ten years when they are 25 years old and living their adult lives. I don’t want to ruin it so won’t say more about that time, but I will say that I really loved it.

This book had it all, fun, excitement, heartbreak, duel timeline, angst and so much love.

Great fun easy read 🩷

First and foremost - All profits from the sale of this novella will be donated to The Epilepsy Foundation in Australia and The Cameron Boyce Foundation in the US !!! Thankful to author for the arc, and thank you for wonderful thing you doing.

This was a cute and short story about Oliver and Sadie, who are from young age best of friends and always together, always there for each other. This is novella, so I won’t say anything else cause I don’t want to spoil the story for you, but you definitely can expect so much young love and sweet times, heartbreak and a realistic second chance for their love, which was there forever.

'Kisses, Cuddles, Christmas and You' where do I start?
I absolutely loved everything about this book.
You are taken on a journey of love with Ollie and Sadie, how they met from just a young age. What happened throughout their lives to ultimately finding happiness.
Bindi has a lovely style of writing, I loved every single character in this book. Her way with words have you feeling so many different emotions. Many moments of "omg this is too cute". I just absolutely loved it. I'm finding it hard to write the words to express how I feel. Let's just say I'm beaming after finishing it, feeling the warm and fuzzies.
You absolutely 100% without a doubt need to read this novella
ASAP! Also all profits are donated to the epilepsy charity.

A short and sweet novella just in time for Christmas. I wouldn't have necessarily called this one a Christmas novella as it takes place over 15 years, but it does cover a couple Christmas seasons so we'll just go with it lol.

At first I was a little weirded out, not going to lie. It started with the MCs as 10 year olds and Ollie claiming to be in love with Sadie. I have yet to meet a 10 year old with that strong of feelings that were that true. But I digress, seeing their story at age 10 definitely played an important role in understanding their background and relationship.

It was fun feeling like I was growing up with them as the story progressed. I could also really go for some strawberry gum now too!

If you're looking for a low stakes, short romance, then this is for you!

I'm giving this 4.5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

Two best friends are there for each other through all life’s ups and downs. Nothing can change their friendship. Except as they both grow up their feelings begin to evolve and deepen. Just as they are about to see where these new feelings could take them
tragedy has them being ripped apart.
Years later could there be a shot at a second chance?

This was the perfect Christmas read. It had me going through a range of emotions from crying when the two best friends get separated to giggling when they run into each other for the first time again then swooning when Ollie declares his
feelings for Sadie.
Such a feel good novella that leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy. Also let’s not
forget the spicy scenes that had me blushing

Oliver and Sadie are childhood best friends who manage to reconnect with each other after losing touch a few years after she moved away. I read KCCY in one day because I just didn't have the strength to stop reading and put it down. Bindi has written an incredible Christmas time novella that makes you feel all of the feels. I will definitely be coming back for more of her books.

I loved this novella!!! It was such a beautiful story, it reminded of some of the characters of love actually!

Ollie and Sadie were amazing. Ollie felt in love with his best friend, when they were little. Sadly, tragedy and circumstances separated them, breaking both of the hearts. But Ollie was the sweetest, boy/guy in the world. Nothing will stop him to get his Sadie girl back. But would a broken Sadie taking back? You need to read this novella to find out 😉. Ollie is swoon worthy!!! 💙

"I'd like to think I've matured a little. Bit when it comes to how I feel about you, Sadie, nothing has changed at all."

Such a cute, fun read. It's everything you need for a Christmas romance novella. Ugly sweaters and all.

For the heartbreak, Sadie and Ollie felt, and to find each other again was the sweetest thing. Childhood sweethearts forever.

It doesn't matter how far apart you are. True love always finds its way.

I had mixed feelings about this one.
I wouldnt say it was a 'Christmas Story'. It starts off with trauma and Christmas was probley mentioned twice in the whole book. The FMC bothered me with her miscommunication and taking advantage of the MMC's good nature. I liked the middle of this one, unfortunately the start and the finish start fell a little flat for me :(
