This was recommended to me by someone who has EMF sensitivity and I enjoyed reading it. The first thing to say is that it stands up as a novel, being well written with sympathetic characters and a fast-moving plot.

As a former scientist, I could believe the scientific power struggle at the heart of it, even though this novel is clearly written from one perspective. I also appreciated the references to studies which have been done on this phenomenon, and the logic behind why objective studies are hard to carry out meaning that some negative studies may be flawed.

I do not believe in all of the 5G conspiracy theories and this is not what this book is about. However, having met many people with severe illness who are sensitive to many things is it possible that there are people who are affected by electro-magnetic waves? I think this is entirely possible.

This book may not sway anyone who believes EMF sensitivity is psychosomatic, and as it is written by someone who is EMF sensitive, it has a very definite viewpoint. But for those who are unsure, it is a good read, and is worth reading and checking out the scientific links it provides. I do not think the scientific case for EMF sensitivity is proven yet, but for those who have it, I would like to think that will happen sometime in the future and, even if that is extremely unlikely to reverse the current state of EMF waves being ubiquitous for the sake of increased connectivity, it would at least mean that sufferers could be taken seriously.

The author’s distinctive flowery and descriptive style is instantly recognisable from her previous title “Girl in the Dark”. Between the lines of the story and dialogue lies a well researched and convincing critique of the dangerous flaws in experimental psychological research methods as well as the bias and influence that exists among academics, their sponsors, the media and the government.

Anna Lyndsey’s new book is a novel, based on the suffering of people who become ill because of new technology, and the refusal by global and political organisations to acknowledge this. A real page-turner and, for those who so far are not aware, enlightenment as to how we, the public, are tricked in the name of progression and money. A must-read!
