A companion volume to Can Cows Walk Down Stairs? looks at the scientific facts behind everyday life as it answers 250 entertaining questions that range from "Do dogs only see in black and white?" to "Why don't the oceans overflow?" or "How do we know that no two snow crystals are the same?"
It was a nice little book. I searched one of my cats belly button after I read it, but I couldn't find it, with all the hairs she's got. I didn't try my second cat, because she bites and scratches whenever you someone touch her belly (I found my dog's belly button, though). Some questions were funny, some were interesting and some weren't. But it is well written, easily read and can provide the reader with interesting data.
Probably more 2.5. The low rating is mostly because the science was very simplified, so I knew most of it already, especially the human body sections. Still a fun read though, and always something new to learn.
I read this during my breaks at work. Science Q and A for those of us who don't come from a science background. Interesting in parts, a bit tedious in others, so the book was kind of patchy for me.
Very interesting book, answering loads of funny questions that most people either wouldn't think of or wouldn't want to ask. Yes cats do have belly buttons if you look hard enough to find it :)
