I couldn't let December pass by without reading a festive themed erotica, and so I landed on Tempting the Christmas Gnomes: A Holiday Fantasy Erotica by Leda Wyle. Now, this isn't my first festive themed erotica - a few years ago I read Miss Claus Goes Sledding: Flick Lodges His Tongue (Holiday Erotica with Sultry Miss Claus Book 1) , which I was thoroughly underwhelmed with. So at the very least Tempting the Christmas Gnomes: A Holiday Fantasy Erotica is better.

I've been making more of an effort lately to dabble in unusual erotica, which started with The Perfect Poo: A Fiery Fecal Romance , followed by Mating with Mallows: An Erotic Sentient Candy Romance and Hallowpeen: A Halloween Sentient Object Romance , and then last month I read Stuffed by the Were-Turkey . I don't know why I've been seeking these out; I think I'm just looking for a good fun time that leans heavily on the puns and doesn't take itself too seriously. In that regard, Tempting the Christmas Gnomes: A Holiday Fantasy Erotica comes close to delivering.

This book is certainly one of the better written eroticas that I've read, but at 26 pages long I still found the idea had ran a little stale by the end. We follow Elsi as she works her farm on Christmas Eve, thinking about tales of gnomes. Of course, there's a truth behind the tales and it isn't long before Elsi is finding herself fulfilling her wildest dreams. There's magic in the air and the gnomes are happy to share.

Leda Wyle doesn't waste too much time before diving into the smut, and events escalate at a reasonable pace. I did appreciate the humour, but I think there could have been a better balance between the comedy and the sex as the amount of sex is somewhat exhausting to read. Elsi is insatiable and I'm not surprised that the gnomes have magical enhancements to aid their ability to provide pleasure.

Of the erotica books I've read in 2024, The Perfect Poo: A Fiery Fecal Romance remains my favourite, but Tempting the Christmas Gnomes: A Holiday Fantasy Erotica certainly comes second. I'm curious to see what 2025 will bring...

The gnome is about three feet tall at my best guess, wearing a pointed red hat, sturdy green pants, and a dark fitted shirt. I resist the urge to moan as I admire his long gray beard and strong, stout body. With his broad chest and thick forearms, he’s a real GnILF. . . . I cannot wait to get his chestnuts roasting on my fire.

This was fun and hot (at least 16 of its 26 pages was sex), but I don't think it nailed the theme (pun intended). I don't think anyone has ever conceived of gnomes as 3 feet tall. As a D&D race, sure, but we're talking about folklore, pointy hat-wearing gnomes, as represented in gardens everywhere. These guys:

It's like, imagine a three-foot Smurf. It's not right. I imagine the author was trying to avoid making the story even weirder by making the sexy dudes only three apples tall. (Note to self for next Kindle Unlimited free trial: search for Smurf erotica.) At that size it would be weirder to present them with adequately-sized cocks. Of course because magic you could just make them grow, able to magically change their body size at will, that kind of thing. Here, they can magically slightly inflate the size of their dicks, but it's not the same.

The story is set at Christmas time and this feels like a bit of a cheat, also. Most of the puns ("he comes down my chimney") are not gnome-specific; it would equally be Santa Claus or Christmas elves delivering the goods. The gnomic bits are few but solid ('“Please, Gnaddy,” I call out. “Please punish me with your cock.”') but it seems like the author couldn't come up with enough of them without the crossover theme.

I found it strange too that the main character was already hot for gnomes before she ever saw one. She suspected they helped out around her farm at times, but why did she picture them as sexy beasts from the outset?

Am I expecting too much from weird short erotica? This truly wasn't bad at all. It's well-written despite my beefs with the concept construction, and I enjoyed it. It's just that I see so much more potential.

Elsi has been working hard on the family farm since she lost her parents. Her family taught her about gnomes, who if you please them, help you out. She leaves them treats and thanks them whenever she suspect that they have helped her. Living on her farm and working so hard has her feeling lonely and filled with unmet deeds. Legend has it that on Christmas Eve a gnome might be tempted into filling more than her stocking. Elsi is determined to tempt the gnomes and maybe they can all have a fun Christmas.

Elsi (h) works hard to keep her farm in order and on Christmas Eve she finds herself wondering if it truly is a magical night when her gnome can come out and play. A little tempting porridge and lingerie soon have Arno (H) fulfilling Elsi’s desperate needs, and luckily for her, his friends Tomlin (H) and Sandfoot (H) are ready to come out and play too. Hot and spicy holiday erotica with lots of magical touches and pleasures.

Punny and Festive

Elsi lives alone on an isolated farm. But sometimes, little tasks get done without her doing them, and she thinks farms gnomes are helping. So on Christmas Eve, she decides to treat them with porridge … in a negligee. This short story is funny and spicy, with plenty of Christmas “magic” thrown in. I really enjoyed this quick and festive read.

I watched a Christmas horror movie about a family in a farmhouse offending the farm gnomes. The gnomes end up punishing the family. This book was like that, but instead of punishing her with weapons, they punish her with their 🍆.

Also, it is only 28 pages. You know, this is not a love story with an adventure.

Honestly, there is not much more I can say than I just said above. A lonely woman living out in the woods by herself finds the company of some very on point gnomes looking to fill all of the holes the holiday season has left behind.

I giggled.
Then I gasped.
It was well worth the read.
