Snowed In With My Frosty Boss

Rate this book
When a freak snowstorm leaves me grounded at the airport on Christmas Eve

with my arrogant ex-boss Derek, it feels like a cruel joke.

Years after he callously fired me, he's still infuriatingly handsome.

Trapped together, our simmering tension quickly erupts into fiery clashes.

And then… an extremely hot hook-up.

As travel chaos continues, a hotel room isn’t the only thing we share.

I catch glimpses of Derek's caring side beneath the bosshole façade.

And it melts my heart.

Being stranded together was bad enough,

But throw the best sex of my life into the mix

And things get complicated. Fast.

Now that we’re both invested, things are messy.

And deep.

Will the bitter weather outside chill our new connection?

It's shaping up to be a holiday I'll never forget.

Frankie attends a professional conference where she runs into her former boss who fired her, she believes unfairly. They share a night together and immediately regret it upon awakening the next day. Too late to catch their shared flight home, a snowstorm finds them stranded together, a single hotel room available. Will close quarters breed contempt or passion?
I didn’t love this book. First, there’s an awful lot of telling rather than showing: the dialogue is lacking, rather than the reader being able to experience their verbal volleys, they’re referred to in passing. As an example, “…a conversation came alive between us, delving into topics ranging from conference presentations to shared experiences within the vast marketing realm.” This text is less than a page after Derek’s inner dialogue cites “the realm of marketing”, which brings me to the book’s excessive use of word repetition. Just a portion of chapter two includes the following: “something”, next paragraph “something”, next paragraph “something”, “surprise”, same paragraph “surprise”, next paragraph “feeling”, same sentence in that paragraph “feeling”. It makes for a very taxing read. Keep in mind this is over just a few pages. There are a plague’s worth of examples present throughout the book. I fully expected the intimate scenes to be written in a similar fashion, and they certainly were; he smirks, she smirks, she trembles, he trembles, it’s all of a piece.
I received an advance reader copy from the author and booksprout, and the impressions I’m sharing are my own.

💫💫ONE SMOKING THRILL RIDE💫💫
Twerking turtles Ted! Grey never ceases to amaze, working her magic once again with this incredibly addictive, enthrallingly seductive and bewitchingly provocative, leading through the maze of stunning twists and captivating turns descending in a tizzy of tantalizing ups and tumultuous downs unfolding. The scenarios are vividly illustrative with vibrant portrayals and graphic depictions, constructing embellished scenes that feel as though you were transported to ground zero. Our characters are authentically distinctive and thoroughly genuine with perceptible natures and engaging attributes, molding into amazing personalities so realistic and refined, uniting them together brilliantly. Fantastic job Grey, thanks for sharing this awesome treat with us.

What a sweet lovely love story

From reading the journey to love between Frankie and Derek it's true opposites attract. They weren't really opposites...they fought through their jobs until they got together at a convention. They found they both were attracted to the other. They got caught in a heavy snowstorm which cancelled their return flight. One more night together was great. She went to her family when they got home, he saw his parents the next day. Something happened at her families get together that created big time problems. Read how everything evolved, you'll also be able to visualize the conference, hotel, the storm, dinner at his parents and everything that goes on. It's a really good book. Written by Cindy :)

Frankie is attending a conference where she runs into the one person she never wanted to see again, her ex-boss who in her opinion fired her unfairly. It leads to an intimate night filled with regret by the next morning. Derek wants to see where their relationship will take them but when a picture finds it place on social media with an ex, Derek blocks all communication with her. Will the misunderstanding be cleared and lead way to them rekindling what they started. this story kept me glued to the pages.

a cute Christmas Read

I love the shorter romance stories. Ones you can finish quickly and just enjoy. Adorable story of enemies to lovers. I gave 4 stars instead of five simply because, despite it being a short story and knowing the plot would move quickly, it still felt too rushed. It had some adorable moments, and a great read overall, but could have used a little more depth and dialogue.

Cozy Read

This is cozy Christmas romance story. It's very easy to follow and flows nicely, though predictable.

Frankie and Derek ended up at the same business conference and though they were strong business competitors, they made a connection. Then they got snowed in and missed their flights home.

It's a typical boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets girl back story. It's a cozy read and the spice is pretty mild.

Fun short read

Quick short read. Entertaining, festive, and fun!
This is a steamy romance set around Christmas. Billionaire enemies to lovers romance.
Must admit I was drawn to the book by its cover!
Frankie and Derek spark against each other, but don't really know each other until one Christmas eve they're forced to spend the night together in a hotel.

Frosty needs a little heat

Frankie and Derek are competitive and are constantly competing with one another. They strike up a conversation and hit it off. Neither of them can believe they are talking to their rival and getting along but it's true. They learn a bit more about each other and it changes their overall feelings.

A fast read

The book spoke of their past rivalry but when they talked they acted like best friends. I didn't feel a difference in tone between the two viewpoints and the romantic moments were rushed.
