Elaine Montgomery was a successful corporate lawyer with respect, wealth, and all the trappings of a good life except one, love. Though she was quick witted, beautiful, and curvy but fit, she was unsuccessful in finding a compatible mate.
This carried over into her professional life as one Executive Assistant after another fled from the position. None wanted to work for the melancholy beauty.
Then came the day when the CEO's youngest son was forced into the vacant chair outside her office.
James Davenport wasn't like any of her previous EA's.
Unexpectedly - since, if there ever is dominance in the relationships of this authors books (that I know of), it's always loving dominant male + submissive female, with the submissive as the initiator - this story tells us about the start of the relationship between a loving dominant female + submissive male.
The submissive already knows about his needs and desires. The dominant is taken by surprise as she discoveres what and whom she has been missing in her life.
As always, the author gives the relationship a respectful frame, thankfully remaining so after the relationship becomes more intimate.
With 57 pages, it's short. There are a few typos that are well worth it. The majority of the pages are dedicated to the couple finding one another. I would love to read more about them and their development. They are interesting people, with and also without the aspect of their domantic relationship.
It's an enjoyable story worth reading. Thank you, B. Redstone.
Slice of life, corporate life, romance, short story
The title sounds like someone dies, which couldn't be further from the truth. Elaine is alone and unhappy. James quickly becomes enamored with his new boss. Mild BSDM elements.
