Broken Wings is a therapeutic autobiographical account of the life of Ebony, a young black girl from Los Angeles who was abused by her mother, Camille. Ebony's character and faith were tested, and she faced rejection and abuse from her mother. As an adult, Ebony struggles with her role as a mother and struggles with low self-esteem and family bonding.
Despite Camille's death, Ebony struggles with forgiveness and grieving, leading to her suffering from breast cancer at age 48. Through Broken Wings, Ebony learns to stop past violence and hate, highlighting the importance of motherly love and forgiveness.
