This was a great sequel to 'Beyond the Gates' that really expanded the world so much more and gave us a lot of information on the true scope of the operation that our main characters are aiming to destroy. The ending of the book almost feels hopeless in a way and I absolutely can't wait to see how everything gets resolved.
Emma and Jesse are such a cute couple and although I do love a toxic relationship in fiction, sometimes it is nice to see a couple that do have some arguments of course, but communicate in a healthy and loving way. You know that they will always come together and talk through their differences at the end of the day. I also really like all of the side characters, they don't detract too much attention from the overall story but still have a great balance of their own subplots and providing different abilities to the team.
I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book in this series!

Okay, I absolutely LOVED the first book, but I love this one even more!! Now that we're on the run with the characters, I feel like we got to know them even more. There were twists and turns (I kept guessing at one of them, but it took for the final reveal for me to know!!) There was a lot of amazing high action, but also tender moments that I live for! Such a great sequel! I can't wait for the next one!!
