This is a very short Christmas story that's just a single scene between Charley and Reyes. Super steamy, with a bit of playful snark. Worth the few minutes it takes to read (but wait until you're past book 5 to avoid spoilers).
This story (along with the companion Glow) is available on the author's website:
This finally has this couple where I want to see them. It’s a quick read in Charley’s POV meant to be read after book 5. It’s Christmas and it’s a short conversation about presents that brings up the question he asks her at the end of book 5. I love seeing these two together.
I love this series but Darynda Jones is such a tease! May is far to long to wait for the next one & this little gem was far too short! Can you tell I only complain because I love these books?
I just got my Charley and Reyes fix to hold me over until Sixth Grave on the Edge. I have no idea how Darynda Jones does it. She wrote a very short story and left me very satisfied but yet, still in need for more Charley and Reyes. I guess it doesn’t really matter how, just glad that she does. I love, love this short story. Charlie interviewing Reyes was laugh-out-loud hilarious and the few lines of smexy scene was just delish!
Ms. Jones had provided this short story for her readers FREE. You can read here:
A short scene featuring Charley's new brilliant idea on how to fish for information that ends up with hot sex with the son of Satan. What more can I ask? I love the banter between them :D
Quick, short as in very, Christmas story involving a moment in time between Reyes and Charley. Charley has purchased a gift for Reyes against a promise that she wouldn’t. The result is steamy and fun and gives us another little peek at their relationship and how it has changed and deepened since book one.
It's a really cute Christmas scene between Charley and Reyes that made me smile and swoon in equal measures. I love these little extra snippets that some authors choose to give their fans and this just made me even more excited to continue reading the rest of the series.
Please be aware that this story contains MAJOR spoilers for Fifth Grave Past the Light though so whatever you do don't read it until after you hit that point in the series!
A lovely short story between Reyes and Charley. I love the fun interaction between these characters and the depth of emotion they both have, but hide beneath humour and snark. There's also a companion short story, which tells the same story but from Reyes perspective - Glow. It's well worth a read and really adds to the enjoyment of the two shorts.
Don't expect to gain much from reading this short. There is absolutely no character growth or interesting exchanges. We are subject to more tedious sex, in my opinion, that adds nothing and is just so expected by now that it can easily be skipped (same issue now occurring in the main books). Charley seems to offer some of her more annoying comments while boring us with her continued obsession with Reyes looks. Can we have some substantial character growth by now please? Looks only go so far, in books and in life. This is apparently shocking breaking news.
This is a little slice of flash fiction to keep Charley Davidson and Reyes Farrow fans looking forward to the next book in the series. Not really enough of a story to do that for me. However, it had the same Charley snark and sass and a lot of spice. It’s too short to be as good as her other short pieces in the series, but it was fun to read in a few minutes.
