Super Husband, Super Dad is amazing. Tim Shoemaker has a gift at turning everyday life into an object lesson that makes you really examine the issue. This book is full of those examples as well as tons of tips on how to be a better husband and father. I have implemented several of the things that he covers in this book and have seen a huge change in my home life with my wife and kids.

Guys, even if you aren't a big reader, this book is for you, you owe it to yourself, your wife, and your kids to read this book. Women, there is a great chapter in the back of the book designed solely for you, yet despite this book being written for men, it is full of information and ideas that will help women understand their husband and kids better as well as improve their home life. Women, if your husband won't get this book for himself get it for him, read it together, you will both be glad you did.

I can't recommend this book highly enough. I have already given three copies of it away to others and I plan to use it as a reference book from time to time as well as reread it every once in a while to keep myself in check. Get this book, you won't regret it.

I like what Mr. Shoemaker had to say to men and agree with his points, but I think there's much more to it.

Pros
*******

He spoke very clearly to the reader and he broke the Biblical model of a husband and father down in a way that's easy to understand. I also like that he referenced "The Five Love Languages" by Gary Chapman rather than give a "one-size-fits-all" model.

Cons
*******

I think some parts dragged on and it was hard to keep my attention. Of course, this is my personal opinion and I believe this book will grab the attention of others. Unfortunately, it didn't do it for me. I also think the sections dedicated to raising children were short. It's a far more complex task than simply having fun as much as possible. In Mr. Shoemaker's defense, creating a how-to manual for raising kids is impossible and if he were to try, I'm sure he'd still be writing!

Overall, I think this was a good book and recommend to men.
