An army brat born in England and now living in Canada, Ann grew up loving history, but majored in business, with history on the side. She has a husband and two lovely daughters and a Maltese Terrier called Teaser, who likes to sit on a chair beside the computer while she works.
Her love of the past and the stories in her imagination led her to write her first novel in 2000, a never-see-the-light-of-day-effort, and after having her first book published in 2006, she knew she'd found her niche.
She loves the Georgian era, and within that, the period known as the long Regency. She also adores happy endings.
You will find her books in bookstores in the month of issue, as well as on line at Mills and Boon or E-harlequin.
I really enjoyed this story, although the heroine is hardly a helpless Cinderella but a capable cook running away from her family. This makes her easy prey for the vengeful Dart whose parents fell foul of an investment scheme and who has returned to England to wreak his revenge. Darts scheming is done with meticulous style, a chorus of colourful background characters and a wily dog. A great read. Five stars
After her vicar father died and her mother remarried with unseemly haste Pamela decided to use her cookery skills and become a chef to Lord Damien Dart at his ramshackle country estate. Pamela soon realised all is not normal at Dart is running a private gambling house, which for some reason he invited her to be a partner in.
Damien family had been shamed out of Britain due to bankruptcy, and both parents died in poverty in France and Damien promised to wreak vengeance on the children of the men who caused his parents downfall.
Idea has promise but too many unanswered questions, and in the end it doesn't quite work.
Pamela is the daughter of one of the men involved, So why set her up to earn a fortune? How did Dart get enough money to stage this whole vengeance, and why did he give up so easily?
The main character names are far too modern for this era.
