CRAZYYYYYY THIS VOLUME WAS CRAZYYYY. SO ACTION PACKED. ALSO VAMOLA😭😭😭😭. AND NOT THE SAD BACKSTORY OR THE PERV COMING TO HELP. My boy okarun better show up next volume
Lots of fighting in this one, but I expected that! Basically two stories here: 1) Okarun speaks with Seiko and Turbo Granny about how to get back in his body. The teach him a spiral technique and he is eventually able to get back in his body. We see him fueling up with food and a "Love ya!" note from Momo. 2) Momo, Aira, Jiji, and Mantis Shrimp are fighting against the alien invasion. Jiji names his ki blast "The Evil Gun", and Vamola shows up to help but gets seriously injured. Momo apologizes to Vamola for naming her traitor as she attempts to heal her. We also get the start of Vamola's origins, which will continue into the next Volume.
Overall, still loving this, but may have to go online to stay more current instead of waiting for Volumes. Strong recommend to the series.
Is anyone creeped out by the weird half alien trying to “help” Momo? He’s weird and needs to exit the plot. I’m glad Okarun is getting better! The books seem to be getting more of a solid premise now. Or ,synergies I’m used to how is usually goes. This volume was good and the backstory on Vamola was appreciated.

A lot of manga battles in this one, which I always find a little hard to follow, but there are more than enough surprises and exciting moments to make up for it … and we finally see some extensive backstory for a certain character! Couldn’t put this one down!
oh this is SO GOOD. JIJI MY GOAT. EVIL GUN IS OP i love seeing all of them fight but the highlight has been vamola like... Damn. her backstory is going hard rn and FUCK MEN FR
It all started as a little bet. Each wanted to prove the existence of the supernatural to their new friend, and neither was willing to listen. This quickly turns to chaos as a haunted tunnel and horny aliens get thrown into the mix.
The stakes have never been higher. The team is facing off against an incredibly powerful force, and things are not looking good. To make matters worse, they’re fighting with a man down, but hopefully that will change soon.
Review:
Man, Dandadan always finds new ways to up the ante, I’ll give it that! Dandadan Vol. 12 is a heavy-hitting volume that isn’t afraid to push each character to their limit. There’s an alien invasion in the works, everyone is at their limit, and both grandmas are too far away to help. That could spell disaster, right?
I was on the edge of my seat while reading Dandadan Vol. 12. Thankfully, I also had Dandadan Vol. 13 in my hands, so I was able to read both volumes back to back. No, I am not looking forward to the wait for the next volume. I may have to cave and start reading it by chapter; we’ll see.
The art alone makes this volume worth reading, but the tension and battles are obviously also worth following along for. I honestly can’t wait to see this happen in the anime, with those vibrant colors. It’s going to look so good.
While the focus is primarily on the action, there are a few moments for character development and emotional scores. Momo’s cute little note, Okarun learning something new from Turbo Granny, and Kinta realizing he’s been left on the outs. All of these moments hit differently, but still hit hard.

So much action in this volume, and then the sad backstory happened and ended at a cliffhanger, I feel like I can guess what might happen in the next couple of chapters😭 Also, baby Vamola was so cute!🥰
I used to find Jiji annoying, but he's gotten better and I really like him now😊
The only character I still find annoying is that perv (I forgot his name). I don't mind perverts in anime and manga (some of them I actually love), but he's just annoying and not very useful. A physically weak character can be useful too if they're smart (like Cui Buqu from Pearless), but he's not even smart, he's just there. Maybe he'll grow on me later, who knows.
I thought of something as I was reading this volume, which is that if Okarun could start seeing ghosts and is only powerful after he got Turbo Granny's powers, then would he go back to being a normal human (while still being physically stronger than he originally was because of all of that training he did) by end of the series? I have a few theories on what could happen by the end and none of them involve him keeping Turbo Granny's powers, I'd be shocked if he did. I wonder how many chapters and volumes this series will end up running for🤔
Okarun is out of his mind - literally and figuratively - after being sucked through Momo's phone. Fortunately, he ends up on the other end of the line with Turbo Granny and Seiko, whose twisted answers may help him get home. Meanwhile, Momo and the others kick their training arc into high gear to prepare for the alien invasion, perfecting their moves and preparing to take the house into battle. Unfortunately, if you're on time, you're late - and the invasion has begun in earnest by the time Team Earth has descended into the fray! Will everyone be able to regroup for the final showdown, or is their home planet a long-lost cause?
Lots of side quests in this episode, and this is definitely one of those volumes that's ramping up for a greater overarching storyline. We catch up with Okarun and Team Momo, get some good set-up for the battle to come, and even finish with a fairly long flashback of a certain character's origin story, which will surely be important or gut-wrenching depending on the outcome of the next novel. All-in-all, still having fun with this series, and am definitely ready for some alien action as the team plays winner-takes-all with planet Earth!
Series: Dandadan Ch. 94-102 Rating: 4 stars - It was really good
This picks up where the previous volume ended. Okaurn is having an out-of-body experience and is trying to get answers from Granny Seiko and Turbo Granny. He finds out how to get back but Seiko can’t help him or the others train for the upcoming battle against the alien invasion. While the group hasn’t always gotten along, Momo, Aise, Jiji, and Shrimp all trained hard while Okarun was in a coma healing.
The battle against these alien invaders is intense right from the start. Everyone is going all out and is determined to win but it doesn’t come easy. They take a beating even with all the new abilities they have been working on. I am really enjoying the battle though and how unique all the different alien invaders are.
This volume ends with a flashback to Vamola’s childhood and why the alien invaders are after her. It is a bit of a sad story so far with these alien invaders attacking her homeworld. I am really interested in seeing what happens next in her story and how she ended up on earth.
Good volume, fast read because there's a ton of action scenes.
I love Momo a ton. I like how she can have interesting relationships with all genders and she's not defined by jealousy as I would expect with a lot of portrayals of women, especially teenagers. The author continues to surprise me with his nuanced character work. For example, Momo's problem with Vamola is due to interstellar betrayal, not because she is friendly with Okarun. She's also working with her enemy to fight a greater threat. She is stubborn but with the ability to learn. Whether or not it is a good decision it IS a smart one for the situation. Even Jiji are showing complexities as they grow into their roles.
Great to see the kids combine powers. They use the stories of their world to structure their problem-solving skills and make 'real' solutions out of wacky situations.
Sakata is... not my favourite. Could do without his interlude.
