Believe in the Christmas magic that awaits when you open your heart.
When Sadie's life in Miami collapses like a house of cards, her inheritance of a quaint candy store in the remote town of Mistletoe, Alaska, becomes a lifeline.
Thrust into a world far removed from the hustle of city life, Sadie's biggest challenge isn't the dwindling economy of Mistletoe but the biting cold she despises and the pain from her past that frosts her heart against the warmth of new friendships.
Enter single dad Martin Kringle, a fellow newcomer, and mysterious toymaker with a huge secret, whose large order at the candy store promises more than just business success—it sparks a connection that might just rekindle the joy and trust Sadie thought she'd lost forever.
When a blizzard blankets Mistletoe, forcing Sadie into the warmth of Martin's cabin, the stirrings of love threaten to melt away the barriers she's built around her heart. But to move forward with their relationship, Martin must reveal his secret–one that could sever his bond with Sadie and jeopardize his family's business.
As the town digs out from the storm, Sadie returns home to find that her budding relationship with Martin, the enchantment of the holiday season, and the very future of the town are all delicately intertwined and hanging by a silvery thread. Faced with the prospect of losing what she has begun to cherish, Sadie devises a daring plan that could not only salvage her relationship with Martin but also reignite the heart of Mistletoe itself.
All it would take is a giant leap of faith.

I just finished reading "Magic in Mistletoe" by Janet Koops and let me tell you, it's the perfect book to get you in the holiday spirit! The story does an awesome job of reminding you about the magic of Christmas, both with and without real magic. The main character, Sadie, starts off as a bit of a Scrooge, but as the story unfolds, she learns to love the holiday once again thanks to a special someone who brings holiday cheer into town. She faces her past traumas and opens up to others, which allows her to move past her negative thoughts of Christmas. I loved that the book includes other holiday characters like Santa Claus and Jack Frost, who add to the story and make it even more magical. Overall, "Magic in Mistletoe" is a must-read if you want to feel all the cozy and warm holiday feels!
Magic in Mistletoe is a Kringle Cousin Romance by Janet Koops. This magical Christmas story is full of holiday joy, magic and second chances. Sadie is broken with deep pain from Christmas past. Martin is a Kringle with Christmas magic. The town of Mistletoe is dying and needs magic to survive. Janet Koops has written wonderful characters that I enjoyed reading about. Make some coco and delve into Christmas magic. I received an arc for free and am leaving my review voluntarily.
I enjoyed this story it's actually a sweet easy to read Christmas story based around Sadie who inherits a sweet shop and a cabin in Mistletoe Alaska. Being used to sun sand and lovely warm weather, its certainly an eye opener when you literally only get four to six hours daylight. Then you meet Martin and his daughter Nora, Martin owns the local hardware store. This would make a lovely hallmark film the characters in the small village are typical of a small community, some with small town views not happy about newcomers. I received this as an ARC copy and this is my own opinion and review of the book
A sweet and cozy Christmas story! It’s definitely predictable at times, and the Christmas/Santa elements are over the top- but it’s precisely what makes it an easy, festive, heartwarming read.
Magic in Mistletoe is a sweet and festive novella perfect for the season! This is the first book for me by the author and I look forward to reading more.
Incredibly corny, got it for free on the kobo library. I can cross off « read a christmas book » off of my winter bucket list. There wasn’t even any spice.
A small Alaskan town called Mistletoe that's struggling financially, a girl with little Christmas spirit and a broken heart who's recently moved there, a good-looking stranger who swoops in and spreads Christmas cheer … What more could I ask for in a sweet Christmas tale? Magic In Mistletoe pretty much covered it all and left me feeling like I wanted more when the story ended.
This has made it onto my 'favourites' list of books that I'd happily recommend and reread.
A cute, quick holiday romance. so fast-paced, but I almost didn't mind it. Insta love, town heroes, magic, whirlwind. You still get the sass without the "spice." i was able to picture some of the people and places... i had a gingerbread village pictured in my head, though. one of the books off my january TBR, and I would definitely recommend this one one if you need a quick read.
Magic in Mistletoe is a charmingly heartwarming Christmas romance. Sadie inherited a candy shop from a grandmother she never met in Mistletoe, Alaska. When she meets Martin there is a certain pull, but she is not ready for a new relationship. This is such a sweet Christmas story full of hope and love. I really loved this book and would highly recommend it.
Magic in Mistletoe was an excellent way to kick off the holiday season with this magical novella. Single dad secret Santa meets new-to-town Sadie, who inherited her late grandmother’s bakery, and holiday magic ensues!

nothing really to say, only unique thing was the Santa thing. I did really enjoy the first 25% but it went downhill and cringe after. I love a good hallmark story but this missed the mark. Also I don’t like the single parent trope and I wouldn’t have read if I knew.
Magic in Mistletoe is a cozy, easy to read romance book to get you into the right holiday mood. If you've ever had fantasies about meeting a cute elf or getting cozy with Santa, this will be right up your alley.
At times I found the book a bit cliched, over the top and predictable but I guess that's what creates this easy to read, festive kind of mood. This would also make it a very easy to watch Christmas romcom. Just imagine the snowy scenes with the magic of budding romance.
The characters could have been developed a bit better though. I found the mfc a bit irritating at times - to me, she seemed ungrateful about her situation a lot of the times. Yes, she moves to a very cold place, yes, there's snow, yes, she has to work at the sweet shop, but on the other hand - she has a home, has inherited the said sweet shop and, well, there's snow and all the magic that comes with it! I would trade any rainy winter day for a snowy one in a blink of an eye.
Maybe the author had an intention to show the growth of the mfc in time, by making her this grumpy ungrateful person at the beginning, but somehow it didn't feel like it worked very well. She was this whiny lady who hated Christmas and then suddenly turned into a very positive person who loves Christmas. A very sudden change in a very short time (days) that didn't feel earned, and therefore didn't convince me of her growth.
Nevertheless, the adventures that the mfc experiences and the Christmas and community magic were really sweet and enjoyable. I think I would have read (and maybe preferred) this book just for the community-coming-together vibes, because to me that's what Christmas magic is really about. And that aspect was very beautiful in the book.

This was a beautiful take on Santa Claus and the magic of Christmas. Sadie inherits a house and a candy store from a grandmother who she has never known. She was humiliated by a situation that happened and she just wanted to go someplace where nobody knew her. Being from Miami and going to a small town in Alaska was a huge culture shock for her. She couldn’t handle the cold weather and the fact that they were four hours of sunlight a day. This made her very grumpy and unfriendly towards people.
Martin comes in one day to make a huge order of candy. Sadie is skeptical, but she needs the money. There’s something about Martin that brings sort of a smile to her face. What I like is that the author describes Martin with a gap tooth grin, meaning he wasn’t perfect the way some men are in romance novels. He’s friendly, and magical. Sadie falls for him, but she’s also very hesitant because of past hurts.
There’s so much to unpack in this story. It’s a story of friendship, letting go of the past, love, and the true meaning of the Christmas spirit. it brought a smile to my face. This would make such a cute Christmas movie.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I thought I wanted to read this title but the pacing was slow at the beginning. The story was worth it in the end. I think my reluctance was Sadie wasn’t a likable character, to me. I also wondered what had gotten into Eleanor Foster? She was a mean old biddy. I loved the whole Kringle family. Martin was so sweet and silver tongued. And Nora was a wise old lady in a quippy teen body. There were interesting explanations to many questions that have been asked about Santa Claus.
The bonus chapter made me want to read the next book in the series.
““Watching the auroras is like listening to a silent love song sung by the stars, a serenade that evokes a sense of wonder, magic, and an intimate connection to the universe.”
I suppose it depends on what you mean by magic. I believe in the power of love, the strength of friendship, and the joy that comes from giving to others. If that’s magic, then yes, I believe in it wholeheartedly.
“In the boundless expanse of my existence, you have become my North Star, a celestial constant amidst the ever-twirling canvas of my world.”
the spirit of Christmas was about the joy of connection, the beauty of kindness, and the warmth of shared humanity.
This is a cute, quick read. I finished the book in about an hour and a half. Overall, I really liked the story, and it was worth reading.
For me, there were two reasons that this wasn't quite a 5-star book for me. First, I felt like Sadie trusted and fell for Martin a little too quickly. I would have liked to see her slowly warm up to him rather than falling for him so quickly, especially considering that early on it's clear that she just came out of a relationship.
The second thing is that I really would have liked a short prologue. For a good portion of the story, we get tiny hints of how Sadie's life fell apart, and that's why she came to Mistletoe. I would have liked to see a short prologue of the event that was really the tipping point. I feel like doing this would have given the reader better insight into Sadie's character and why she was there. I can't say more than that without giving away plot details.
This is a clean novel. There's no sexual content, swearing, or violence. Kissings about as scandalous as it gets.

Magic in Mistletoe by Janet Koops is book 1 of the Kringle Cousins romance series, set in contemporary (fictitious) Mistletoe, Alaska.
After an embarrassing betrayal captured on reality television, Sadie fled Miami. She inherited a candy shop in Mistletoe Alaska, complete with a delightful new friend and coworker Rosie. Another newcomer in town is Martin Kringle, a toy shop owner. A romance blossoms between Sadie and Martin. Then comes a big storm. Sadie's a total stranger to cold weather, since she's lived her entire life at the beach. She never knew the candy shop has a generator for storms, so of course she didn't turn it on. How will she fill her big candy order? The whole town is severely damaged by the storm, and plans to cancel its annual holiday festival. Sadie leads a grass-roots effort to save the town, as well as her shop.
Martin confides his big secret to Sadie. She doesn't believe it. He shows her proof. Sadie proposes a grand scheme to save his toymaking 'business' at great benefit to the town, and their relationship. The Hoopla Bonus Borrow is a fairy-tale tribute to friendship, trust, love, and willingness to believe.
I was lucky enough to receive the ARC for this cosy Christmas romance. It was the perfect book to sit down and read in one sitting. I loved the small-town community and the romance between Sadie and Martin. I also really enjoyed the relationship Sadie creates with Martin's daughter Nora. This is such a cute and easy Hallmarky Christmas book! If you're a fan of the single dad or small-town romance tropes, this book is for you!
This book is released this Friday, December 1st so make sure to get your copy to enjoy this cosy Christmas read just in time for the holiday season.
Thank you to the author of this book, Janet Koops and Book Siren, for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Enjoyed this book very much and the description of the main characters; Martin Kringle and Sadie. Martin's daughter Nora, an early teenager was compassionate and kind along with Rose the chocolatier and candy maker.
It wasn't until Sadie came out and explained what happened to her on the reality show "Single to Wed" not realizing the town had seen the show and knew of her humiliation from her ex fiance on the show. She was relieved of that hurt after telling Martin about it and Sadie became a strong supporter of Mistletoe and saving the town. Also enjoyed watching the relationship grow between Martin and Sadie with of course obstacles to overcome to keep their relationship growing.

Just finished reading Magic in Mistletoe and it has left me with a warm and cosy holiday vibe
Scrooged is one of my favourite Christmas spoofs, along with Elf and the Santa Clause, so the fact that Magic in Mistletoe spoofs some of our favourite Holiday characters and builds a wonderful story from it is a double win for me!
This book is a wonderful winter tale and not only brings a consistent, engaging writing style that flows like skiing on powder snow, but also characters you can really get behind!

This is a sweet Christmas romance and if it weren't for Martin Kringle I would say it was a simple one. But there is a Martin Kringle and that makes the whole story convoluted.
The story is set in what seems to be present day Alaska. So every year parents buy gifts for their children under the guise of Santa right? Only in this story Martin and his family are a team of Santas. What? It cannot go both ways. Is the reason Sadie doesn't believe that he is Santa is because in this world Santa does exist but she can't believe she can see him?
Ugh.
I don't know. It's just a little too weird.
It is sweet that Sadie moves to Mistletoe and through the power of friendship becomes a new person, but it all is so surface level.
Maybe this would make a great TV movie, but I want a bit more.
This was a lovely story to get you in the mood for Christmas. There was a bit of mystery, a bit of magic and of course a bit of romance. If you need an escape from what troubles you, curl up with a cup of hot chocolate, a warm blanket and this book will ease your way. Martin, Sadie, Nora and the other characters in the book are well developed and the story line kept me engaged from beginning to end. Everyone needs a bit of magic and romance from time to time.

A sweet quick Christmas romance featuring a grumpy, hurt woman who has moved to Alaska from warm Florida. She needs a fresh start and has inherited a candy store. At first, I wasn't sure I liked Sadie (the hurt woman), but she grew on you as you learn her story. Martin starts to make her see how to enjoy life. The town of Mistletoe has it's own issues as does the candy store. Both require some thinking outside the box which turns out to be one of Sadie's strong points.
I don't want to say more and spoil this cute story for you but it is a quick very enjoyable read.
