so ur telling me i have to wait another couple months for the next volume but the anime just flys past every current volume released in the US lol… die…
who would have guessed the old fart fucking BUNDUS was cold asf and the fucking child DEAD was as well. god this manga can’t get any cooler. amazing characters, design, and crazy ass lore.
I'm going to make this review for the series as a whole so far.
I love Urana's art style; it's cool as hell--so absurdly exaggerated and dynamic, yet so fucking clean at the same time. The characters are freakin' ethnically DIVERSE!!! and their designs are even sicker.
The story and the character work, on the other hand? Meh. The whole series is entirely composed of shonen tropes. Now, it does have some silly quips and gimmicks from time to time, but there really isn't enough for me to credit it with any individuality or give much other praise. Rudo is the typical shonen protagonist archetype, and all the other characters are written really superficially. A lot of their dialogue is just exposition.
Then there was also that weird shit in volume 5 with Amo that definitely was not necessary. I think Urana was biting off more than she could chew with that.
It's quite disappointing actually, given how much I've seen Gachiakuta hyped up to be. It's fun if you can turn off your brain, though.
I honestly don't have much to say about this volume in particular. Overall, I enjoyed myself while reading it.
If I had to point out what stood out about it, first and foremost is the fact that Enjin finally made himself useful 😂 He's really just been chilling and letting all the other characters fight, but here he at least made sure to bring all the cleaners together. He showed he's able to locate them, if he tries hard enough, so they were all able to work together to try to fight Bundus.
Second of all, I looooved seeing my baby boy Rudo confronting Zodyl and pushing against his way of thinking. He's really seeing the cleaners as his friends and appreciating the strength that gives him 🥺 I love to see my baby standing up for what he believes in! It was even better seeing him use his abilities to their full extent in order to protect himself and the other cleaners.
Finally, I absolutely loved the concept of Bundus' vital instrument being his prosthetic arm. It's just such an innovative way to think about it! It also made him so powerful! He really put up a great fight. It was even sweet seeing how Rudo was upset thinking he had destroyed Bundus' vital instrument because, despite Bundus being his antagonist in the moment, he still holds firmly to his belief in the value of people and things.
All in all, I look forward to continuing the series!
This series is a case of I like the concept better than the execution. I'm mostly interested in the world building, but the plot is mostly just another action shonen series. I'm curious to know how the world got to the point where trash is everywhere, and now there's this giant flying city above the garbage dumps. I'm also very curious to see people's personal relationship with the way the world is so materialistic and wasteful. But it barely focuses on that and mostly just does its own thing. I'll keep reading to see if any of the themes connect, but I don't really care about the fights. I'm just not a typical shonen fan.

This was a very quick read, since most of the volume was taken up with various battles. We did get some dialogue and background when the leader of the Raiders was monologuing, though. I like Rudo. Despite all he's been through, he has it in him to have empathy and be kind. I also really liked Enjin in this volume. I felt he displayed the qualities of a leader. We now know where the Cleaners are, and it looks like backup is on the way. Not sure what backup is going to do given where they are, and where they're heading, though. I'm looking forward to finding out in the next volume.
I didn't sleep the best last night, so my plan for today is to read a lot of manga, and this volume was the first on the "schedule". Mostly a fight volume, which is fine right now, since it doesn't require a lot of thinking on my part. It was kind of funny how Rudo pointed out the Zodyl was jealous of Rudo having friends.
"Where are you, right now?!" "What???!" "I SAID WHERE ARE YOU? RIGHT NOW??!" "I CAN'T TALK...I CAN'T TALK RIGHT NOW, I'M IN A, (fuck), I'M KINDA BUSY, I'M IN A WHALE(?), RIGHT NOW?!" "YOU'RE /WHERE/?!" "I GOTTA GO, I GOTTA...Hey, I'll call you when I'm done, OK?!" *click*
Rudo batendo de frente com Zodyl foi espetacular. Defendendo os zeladores e falando o quanto eles o ajudaram e são importantes. E, por fim, o ataque final de Rudo contra Bundus foi absolut cinema, maravilhoso!!
