Major Editing Problems
So much of this book contained passages that were in congruent from beginning to end. Sentences that started with the main characters wearing particular clothing, doing certain actions or saying specific statements that by a page or paragraphs later did not match. Eventually, I just skipped over those pages to how the chapter ended. I grew tired of checking back to why I felt the storyline didn't seem right on!y to note once checked it really didn't match well in the details.

Mehhhh...
While the setup of the book was great and has a great premise, I feel like the last half of the book was an afterthought.
****Slight spoilers ahead...****
There was a whole scene where the FMC found out that the MMC was a part of the mafia at one point. I struggled to find where that came from. It seemed really random. Same with the MMC's brother popping out of nowhere. The "drama" with him did not feel significant.
Another thing I struggled with was how the summary of the book acts like the pregnancy will be a big part. Trust me, it's not, and I hate how it's advertised. It isn't until almost the ending that we even find out.😒

Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for a copy of this book. Overall I thought the book was okay. there wasn't anything while reading that grasped my attention and made me have feelings. However, I wasn't bored while reading. I don't think this author's reading is for me. I did enjoy reading about the growing romance.

Contract With The Bad Boy is the latest mafia romance from author Sylvia Rae.
I will start by saying that I do think this plot had a lot of potential. Billionaire heiress enters a marriage of convenience with a billionaire mafia alpha and there is a surprise pregnancy; on paper this combination of tropes sounds fantastic. But unfortunately, it just wasn’t well executed. There was more spice than substance and even the spicy scenes didn’t really do much for me.
The book opened in a really interesting way with the MMC saving the FMC from a drink spiking situation and this really hooked me in. But after this initial situation the whole plot felt rushed and lacking in substance. There was little to no relationship building, we just suddenly had this marriage of convenience setup and then, despite it being a business deal rather than a real relationship, the FMC and MMC were suddenly doing it 24/7.
It also felt like the novel wasn’t well planned out and aspects were randomly added to the plot as afterthoughts, such as ‘oh and he was in the mafia’ and ‘oh and he has a brother who used to date the FMC’.
Overall, unfortunately this just wasn’t for me. Fans of a mafia romance who want a shorter read with some spice might like this book but it just really lacked the depth and substance I personally needed.

OMG, I Love Leonardo!
What’s not to love about Leonardo? Gorgeous, yummy build, Alpha, owns a popular night club, a family name signifying “top 2%”, runs a major impressive company, has a sexy rock-star brother, a touch of European Mafia, and oh he’s a billionaire. Leo is a real stand-up guy who likes to live in the background. When he sees a beautiful lady, Gabriella, in his bar he feels a connection and Leo thinks she has an attraction too but before they connect a jerk interferes and actually tries to kidnap Gabi. Not going to happen! Leo saves the little beauty that has been drugged and is being carried out of his club by a group of guys. Gabriella Lombardi is the CEO of Grandpa’s company, Lombardi Enterprises but there’s a huge catch. Though Gabi excelled in college and is highly competent to take over the business she has the wrong plumbing, she is not a he! Nasty Grandpa claims if she wants the business she must marry. How Gabi is treated by Grandpa and her vulture suiters is appalling. Gabi is an awesome character and has just met the man of her dreams in Leo. There are lots of misunderstandings and secrets between the two but in the end, they have everything neither knew they wanted. I love every page of this story and most of the characters. Okay hang on once you start you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned 😊. Leo sexy as all get out billionaire, owner of one of the most popular night clubs living in background most times until he has to step up than you don’t want to be on that side of him what most don’t see is he is dangerous, ruthless on a good day, deadly every day and when a man drugs a young women in his club for the purpose of kidnapping her was big NO…NO! Gabriella is smart enough to run her grandfather’s company Lombardi Enterprises, has some of the highest numbers yet her grandfather is stuck in the stone ages because she isn’t a man in his eyes, she will never be smart enough and so he mandates if she wants to take over his company, she must marry otherwise he won’t be leaving the company to her. Gabriella heads to a club to think maybe find someone she is attracted enough to make deal with and instantly she catches Leo eye, he catches her eye attraction is instant, it is intense, until he notices someone jerk puts something in her drink and attempts to kidnap her deciding she is his to protect, but will her grandfather accept him, is there more to him than he is telling her, will she be honest with him about her grandfather, why did a trusted friend drug her, try kidnapping her, will she get the company from her grandfather, and can they find happiness?

Leo is a billionaire who runs a chain of nightclubs. He's known for being bossy and flashy, but he likes to stay in the background and observe. It's how he learns a lot of the things that he needs to know in order to be successful. People think they are hiding things but they really aren't. He sees a beautiful woman in one of his nightclubs. Her name is Gabriela and she is beautiful. He thinks she is attracted to him too when suddenly someone tries to take her. Leo is able to save Gabi after she is drugged and before they can take her away. Gabi is a force all her own and is really poised to take over her grandfather's company but for one little issue: she is not a man! Gabi and Leo enter into a contract to get married so she can get what she wants, but they both end up with more than they bargained for.
These two are both forces to be reconned with and it's fun to see how they play off each other. I liked that while Gabi needed saving that one time, it wasn't because she was necessarily weak. She's tough and took on the men in her life the only way that she could.

When she decides to go to the bar an old school friend comes in with his friend s and when she not looking, he spikes her drink. but Lenardo. sees it on the camera he is the owner and won't have drugs, so he stops them taking her out the club. Gabriella goes back to see him and thank him and then she asks him to marry her so she can get her grandfather's business. It's so good. the twists and turns will keep you hocked.

When Gabriella's grandfather told her in order to get his company, she had to marry she was upset but realized he meant it. When she went to a bar, she noticed Leo and felt a connection, but a childhood friend had other ideas when he tried to drug her. Leo came to the rescue, and it started them along a journey together. This story has thrilling twists and turns that kept me glued to the pages and my emotions all over the place.

Contract with the bad boy had a strong heroine and hero. I enjoyed the interaction between Gabriella and Leonardo. The more they were around each other, the deeper in love they fell. Not that it helped! Or that they would admit it. Many obstacles stood between them, not the least of them not wanting to open up to the other. And Gabriella's grandpa! If ever the story had a villain, it was grandpa! And the addition of a surprise pregnancy brought more to the relationship. Gabriella and Leonardo definitely had their issues, but the love story between the two was a joy to read.

This book is poorly edited. In addition parts of the story are all over the place. For example, the FMC and MMC start getting a bit handy. The clothes she is wearing change, suddenly she has no bra and a borrowed shirt when she cam in dressed casually (and returning borrowed clothes). These instances and poor editing totally distract from a good plot. Characters feel flat as well. It has so much potential but falls flat on its face.

I gave this 2 stars because I felt like the plot had promise but fell short. I did finish the book, but I’ll be honest that I considered DNFing it. The spicy scenes were just poorly written and not anything that worked for me - it felt very juvenile when it came to the sex portions. Also, this book really would have benefitted from a proper proof reading as there were many grammatical issues. I don’t think this author’s writing is for me personally, but others might truly enjoy it.

Loved reading the fabulous and fantastic romance story. When Gabi needs a man to pose as her fiancé in order to take over her Grandfather's company, she tells Leonardo she will pay him to be her fake fiancé. Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written, and a must read riveting story you can't stop reading. Can't wait to read another book by the awesome author, Sylvia Rae!

Cute premise. Missed transitions made for a bumpy progression. Ex passage of time - one minute on couch, next description on bed. Boarding jet, walking around city. Bit jarring trying to connect the dots feeling like I missed paragraphs here and there. Bit more editing would have made a big difference. But 3 star read nonetheless.

What an intense, intriguing, steamy, and addicting page turning book that Sylvia has written. This book is a must read that will impress you because of the wonderful characters Gabriella and Leonardo are. The only sad part of this book was when it ended. :) I really liked when Leonardo courted Gabriella it was so romantic.

I really liked the dynamic that Leo and Gabi had from the beginning. They work well together and have great chemistry. I also love how Leo stood up to Gabi’s grandfather on her behalf. I love when a man isn’t afraid to defend the woman he loves, especially when he doesn’t realize he loves her yet.

I enjoyed this entertaining romance. The MCs are defined, enter an arrangement, have misunderstandings, great chemistry, and some secrets that eventually are revealed. I liked this engaging read.

Secrets, biases, deals, mafia, and yes, more layers of secrets and deals. Strong cast of characters and subplots make this fake marriage tale stand a bit stronger than others. Characters you will despise, some not - and a bit of action. Definitely adult, the heat is on.

There was a lot going on in this book, which I feel like led to it being kinda rushed and thrown together. Gabriella & Leonardo, “Leo”, had their fair share of problems, but by the end of the book they are truly living their happily ever after with one child & another one on the way.

Contract with the bad boy is the first book that I have read by the author Sylvia Rae. This was a 3 star read with great spice along with romance.. Gabi is in need of a fake fiance since she is going to be taking over a company that her grandpa owns.

Enjoyed their story with all the ups and downs. That they became the family they always wanted was something special. Lots of dysfunctional family members. Saddened by the loss of his sister. Felt like I was a part of this story beginning to end.

Sorry but all the parents in this story were just vile. Too dark in some places and difficult to stomach. Overshadowed the story. I will think twice before picking up another story in this genre again.
