Fateful Lies: A Paranormal Shifter Romance

I was searching for the truth, but I found so much more.
-----------------------------------------------
Brody
The second I saw her I knew she’d change my life forever.
What I didn’t know was all the secrets she was hiding.
By the time I found out it was too late. I was already in too deep to pull back from her.
Bethany is my mate. Me, a demi-shifter, while she’s a pure-bred human. It’s as simple and as complicated as that.
No matter what it takes, I’ll help her solve her mystery and do what’s best – safest – both for her and for my mountain lion clan.
Even if it means watching her walk away.

Bethany
I needed answers, and I was ready to do anything, say anything, to get them.
What I wasn’t ready for was Brody – a gorgeous, captivating, mountain lion demi-shifter who made me want to forget all about my search for the truth.
That’s dangerous; he’s dangerous. No matter how much I want to get lost in him, I can’t.
I’ve come too far; I have to finish what I started.
Even if it means losing Brody in the end.

Fateful Lies is book three in Kristyn DeMaster's Fated Moments series, a steamy paranormal romance set in a world where full shifters, demi-shifters, and humans co-exist, though not always easily. Fateful Lies can be read as a stand-alone. It is intended for readers 18+ due to sexual content and strong langage.

This is the 3rd book in the Fated Moments series by Kristyn DeMaster and this is Brody (mountain lion shifter) and Bethany (human) story. They meet when she comes to work with him in his hiking business, he recognises that she is his fated mate, but she has secrets. Will she divulge them, will she acknowledge her attraction? Will they work through their problems and get their HEA? Well you will have to read to find out!

'Fateful Lies' is another excellent book in the Fateful Moments series. Bethany has been searching for the one man who helped make her early childhood happy. Brody is a mountain lion shifter and Bethany has come to work with him in his hiking business. She lied about her background to get the job because she needed to be closer to where she believes Rafe, the man from her childhood, lives.

Brody knows that she is his mate and is determined to win her and she is attracted to him; however, her primary focus is finding Rafe. Rafe has secrets of his own and Bethany and Brody get entangled in a dangerous plot involving Rafe.

It's a fascinating story and all three characters get their happily ever after in their own way. Kristyn DeMaster is such a talented writer, and I can't wait to read her next book.

I am so happy Brody got his own epic romance. Bethany is a conflicted female lead. She is someone looking for answers and stumbles into love. She gets tangled up in her own lies and both Brody and her suffer for it. They suffer from it but they both grow and learn from the mistakes made to make them stronger than were before.

This book the action and intrigue amps up and I am curious where it leads in the next book in the series.

Bethany and Brody had a connection before they had even spoken to each other. They both tried to fight it but as with all fated mates something always has to give.
I loved this book as they were so perfectly suited to each other. They had their ups and downs but their attraction could not be stopped. Great addition to this series.

Bethany saw Brody and a little girl at a cafe she was at and felt a connection to him but wouldn’t allow it thought he was mated. Bethany was in town to find a person from her past after her mother died but didn’t want anyone to know, her PI was was leading her on. Brody found some of it out finally made her admit everything to him and his alpha her boss, who told her that they knew the person she was looking for. The doctor that experimented on the person she was looking for took her captive but was rescued and found who she looked for wanted her. Good book!

This is a first time author for me and even though it was stated the book was a stand alone, I think the reader would have a wider grasp of the story arc aka the Clan dynamics if read in order.

The plotline was interesting, as were the characters, but Brody seemed a little desperate for Bethany's attention. Things worked out in the end, right up to the bomb dropped at the end. Guess that's one way to get your readers to return for the next book.

I'm loving this series. Now it is Brody's turn to find his mate but it won't be an easy road. I cannot wait to read the next book.

Bethany is a lonely woman who goes in search for the only man to make anything about her childhood happy who she hasn't seen since she was a toddler when her mentally unstable Mother ran away with her. Will her remember her? Want her? Is he a good man?
Enter Brody a handsome mountain lion who works with Bethany at her new job and who is falling in love with her. My only complaint with this book is Brody and his need to get over himself, he really carried the "betrayal " to far, they had only known each other for a couple weeks and barely knew each other.
Other than that mild annoyance, I absolutely enjoyed the writing, story, plot, and characters. I really liked Rafe and his loneliness was palpable. Also I think Rafe and Abby would make a great couple. I encourage you to read this story and author, I can't wait for ger next book.

This is Brody and Bethany's book. It was a nice story that dragged in spots. Bethany comes to town to work on a new project and immediately gets the wrong impression of Brody. She also has another motive - she's looking for the man she thinks of as her father. Bethany and Brody end up working on the same project and confess their feelings for each other. Brody later sees Bethany after she tells him one thing and jumps to the conclusion that she's selling clan secrets and was always lying to him. He acts like its that most horrible thing and therefore she's dropped. She just accepts is because she's found the man she was looking for with the clans help. Bethany did nothing to call Brody on his actions nor did anyone else. The group who's after her father kidnap her to get to him and still Brody is being a dunce. While he feels something, he assumes he's the person wronged, and she'll do it again. Finally, his best friend gets through to him and there's a beautiful moment between the pair. Unfortunately, Brody doesn't live up to a male shifter but a poor pitiful be human and Bethany is not as strong as she starts out being. Take out Brody's poor me attitude and the story is good. Bethany dreams of finding the father she remembers from when she was little. I respect her courage and determination to find answers and maybe a home. She has never had a friend, totally alone she trusts nobody. I loved reading about Bethany and Broby , there’s a strong attraction , misunderstandings, confusion and the beginning of a wonderful romance. It heartbreaking when Brody discovers Bethany’s secrets, it’s so hard for her to trust, Brody is devastated. I love Brody, he’s so mad at Bethany, but he can’t help needing to protect her. They find her father, but they will face betrayal, kidnapping, dangerous enemies, violence and deadly attacks before they can finally have their happy ending. Spellbinding and action packed story, delightful reading. Can’t wait for next book.🤩🥰

Having read book 4 first, I was already briefly aware of the plot that would take place. However it did not stop me enjoying the book any less! Love Bex and Brodys tale, especially Brody! The spice level was perfect, and the action side of things kept me wanting to read "just one more chapter".

It's the type of trope that gets overdone and not done very well so often, but I really enjoyed this authors take on fated mates from beginning to end.

I could not put this book down. It’s totally different from the other shifter books I’ve read. Has wonderful characters witty and entertaining. Loved the story line.

I loved Bethany. Vulnerable, resilient, and stronger than she believes she is. The romantic suspense was strong in this one, and I little tiny cliffhanger at the end that put me in the mood the read the next one.
