The 4th volume in the H2LiftShip Series pits the symbiotic combination of semi-sentient AI tablets and algal rocket ships against the Heliospheric Navy. The HiveSisters, in response to an unwanted software update, brought the heliosphere's economy to its knees by shutting down the bioGel-controlled ATMs Sentients are forced back to BeforeTimes techniques of bartering and IOUs as they struggled to keep fed, warm, and alive in outer space. Captain Graciela Lucerne, on her repaired and renamed BosonsWave-Squared, joins forces with Commodore Herb Grauer on his Gorilla Class Fast Cruiser to bring the HiveWar they may have accidentally started to an equitable finish. We begin at the end of the heliosphere and follow Hans and Jingles scrapping exotic ions born at the intersection of Sol's heliotail and cosmic rays. They were stuck at the tail-end of Sol after being banned by the Asteroid Union for destroying a mining ship. Graciela's parents escape the algal-slimed HuB asteroid and join their daughter on Luna, where they travel to Earth to purchase cargo for the asteroid miners. She has the pleasure of showing her family the difference between living in ZeroG and on a 1g rock with its oceans, deserts, and tasty carne asada burritos. The usual assortment of pirates, gamblers, and merchants round out the story as everyone tries to move forward as war disrupts their routines and cash flow.
Have you ever thought about what the world is like beyond your own? What goes on in the space, and what life is like in the vastness? Well, you don’t have to wonder any further. Bob Freeman has done it again with his latest volume of H2LiftShips – BosonsWave2. He has breathed life into another fantabulous space adventure that takes your imagination to a new realm.
“BosonsWave^2 – Solar Sails Squared” is Bob Freeman’s fourth volume in the H2LiftShips series. It follows the crew of BosonsWave^2, a group of extraordinary misfits, as they face challenges, encounter allies and enemies, and navigate space travel. After crash-landing on Luna, they must repair their ship and continue their journey while dealing with aliens with hidden motives. They encounter pirates, discover an alien artefact, and confront a deadly solar storm. The crew must learn to trust each other and work together to survive and accomplish their mission. The book is part of a science fiction series that explores space travel and the difficulties of living in harsh environments.
One of my favourite books in space travel has always remained “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”. That was way back in my childhood. Since then, I have struggled to find a book that entertaining and imaginative until I came across the H2LiftShip series. I have been following this series since the beginning. I am amazed at how Bob Freeman has only made the story more spectacular and grand with each new installation.
The story is a perfect blend of humour, adventure, drama, sci-fi and action. It is a masterclass for budding authors and a delight for readers who are bored of the same old conventional and predictable plots. Every sentence is unique and it feels like you’re reading an epic rap song with witty writing. This book will definitely make you have multiple outbursts of laughter and awe. My favourite part of the book is the exploration of the family dynamics of Captain Graciela and her parents. It was heart-warming and filled me with a sense of pride. The outstanding nature of the storytelling will make you feel that you are too part of the family.
This is a book that is suitable for every age group. Whether you are a child, teenager or a grownup, this novel won’t fail to touch your heart. If you’re a parent looking for the perfect story to ignite the love of reading in your munchkin(s), you know what to get them for their next present!
To get a greater sense of the story and enjoyment, I will suggest you start this series from the first book, which will suck you right into the author’s vivid imagination. But if you find it hard to give time to all four books, “BosonsWave^2” also works well as a standalone book. This is one of those books that stays with you for quite a long time. Bob Freeman writes a cinematic hard science tale with BosonsWave-Squared
The end is only the beginning. In BosonsWave-Squared the reader is introduced to the heliosphere, and it's impending demise. BosonsWave-Squared is part of the H2Liftships series, and this is volume Four. I am a HUGE fan of Bob Freeman and read whatever this author writes, I want to read. Bob Freeman has a grand imagination, and talent for showing the story. I've read all of the books in this series and each one seems to get better and better. The future may seem bleak, and there are intergalatic wars going on, and human versus machine, AI's, and software updates that are just ... well, it brings the reader back to the world built by Freeman, and how powerful a writer he is, and a natural at creating these worlds, which could possibly be in our future, or someone's future. If you haven't read the other books in the series, I recommend reading them from the beginning, even if they are standalone, but you really get the feel for the environment and atmosphere. I must say that Freeman has done it again, bringing in intense characters and situations, along with hard science, with that mix of science fiction, but who says science is fiction, really. This cinematic (and I use that word because that is how I see it in my head), and unpredictable read brings the characters to life, and shows the reader a world where there is still war, fighting for freedom, fighting for sentience, and camaraderie. The BosonsWave ship has been repaired by its captain, and is now BosonsWave^2, and is in for quite a journey. Both thrilling and intriguing, all the way to the end. This is a magnificent plot that kept this reader turning the pages. It's one of those story that grabs you from the start and pulls you in. BosonsWave-Squared is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. I read this book to give my unbiased and honest review. Amy's Bookshelf Reviews recommends that anyone who reads this book, to also write a review.
This is the fourth book in the series - H2 Liftships - the amazing, indepth and humorous sci fiction.
The story takes us to see the symbiotic alliance of algae rocket ships and semi-sentient AI tablets takes on the Heliospheric Navy in the fourth volume of the H2LiftShip Series.NioGel-controlled ATMs aren't available so there's much a problem has been created. Captain Graciela teams up Herb Grauer on his Gorilla Class Fast Cruiser aboard her restored and renamed BosonsWave-Squared.Starting from the edge of the heliosphere, we accompany Hans and Jingles as they scrape unusual ions that are created at the junction of cosmic rays and Sol's heliotail.
The Asteroid Union had blacklisted them for damaging a mining spacecraft, thus they were stuck at the end of Sol.Now to know what happens, read the book!
The plot is completed by the typical cast of pirates, gamblers, and merchants, all of whom attempt to go on despite the disruptions to their lives and livelihoods caused by the conflict.
If you think it's just the dry space science, then I must tell you it also has fun banters, humour between the characters. There are pirates, there are casinos and parties, there is fun.
Overall, this series is a perfect read for someone who wants a depth in sci fi, who wants to explore some different sci fi or who is a bit nerd has a strong inclination towards space science and astrophysics ( just like me).
BosonsWave2 is an exhilarating sci-fi adventure packed with AI intrigue, interstellar conflicts, and high-stakes space diplomacy.
