In 2036, an eccentric billionaire funded humanity’s first trip to Mars as an ego project. That expedition made the most significant discovery in human proof of extraterrestrial life. The ancient alien outpost they found catapulted humanity’s knowledge of faster-than-light travel, genetic engineering, and planetary colonization forward by centuries.
Almost a century later, humanity has shown that despite their use of advanced technology, some things haven’t changed. Greed and xenophobia still run rampant amongst the stars, and wars are common between humanity’s dozens of extrasolar colonies.
Kayden is a recently discharged military pilot, just trying to make his way in the big universe. Fortunately for him, he’s about to stumble upon humanity’s next great discovery – one that could have an even more profound impact on the course of human history than finding the Mars outpost.
Not a cheap harem book. I was wrong. This has a very simplistic story that advances with a lot of heavy plot armor. The characters are cheap and one dimensional.
This book started off with a decent premise, but by about 25% of the book, I started to list interest. By the time I hit 54%, my interest had waned to the point that I wasn't caring about the events happening. realizing that, I stopped reading.
I feel like the biggest issue is the book couldn't decide what path it would take. There were times it felt like it would be an action adventure, but the action dried up for too long. Other times, it tried on Slice of Life, but the details needed for that were sorely lacking. And there's hints of base building and leading a community, but so little of it that the parts that do happen feel like boxes being checked. What's left is a plot that never finds its footing.
Meant to be Hard Sci-Fi space opera, from an author who thinks Star Wars is scifi.
It’s alright. As the title says, it’s meant to be hard sci-fi, but it reads like an 8th grader who has only seen Star Wars and a half season of Star Trek voyager.
Story is fun enough? Main character is pretty lame. Female love interests are shallow, instantly falling for the lame main character.
The pacing for the story is wild.
Overall it’s ok, and probably worth the read if you’re a horny teenager.
I really enjoyed Royal Blooded, and I've had this on my list since then, but I've never read it until now. Boy, do I regret that this book has stuff for everyone! Cool syfi stuff, check, action-packed combat, check, some great romance with some spice, check! All in all, I loved it, and I'm kinda glad I waited because the squel is out already!
I really enjoyed this FIRST of many wonderful books Storyline will hold you to your reader Characters are easy to visualize , warm and humourous This is a fast paced, fun to read, hopefully, new series
This is a delightful space opera that anyone over 18 can enjoy. It is well put together and the characters are realistic. I look forward to reading more in the future.
This is a great sci-fi book period, regardless of genre. But on top of that you have some heartwarming romance and fun action scenes. The characters are wonderfully fleshed out and the story is top notch. I can’t wait for the next.
This book is one of the best sf books I’ve read in the past 3 years! Well written! Well plotted and resolved. I am looking forward to reading a follow-up.
This book had potential but the military trained MC is a hotheaded buffoon. This should go through editing and review. I gave it 3 starts because it could be decent.
Every time he sees a woman he starts slobbering and leering and going on about their underwear, and then the woman is like, “hey, what a hunk.” No thanks.
