“Denny’s and IHOP are Waffle Houses for people who can’t fight.” ~ Kelly Grayson

Welcome to Random Book 1 of Short Attention Span Theatre. This compilation of short stories and novellas is a gift to my loyal readers who have faithfully read everything I publish online, and for those few diehards who spurn e-readers and faithfully wait for publication of the print version.

In it, you’ll find the exploits of Sergeant Cecil Dundee the combat wombat and his comrades-in-arms, Aloysius Q. Fortenberry the Waffle Haus Sheriff and his fellow W.H.I.S.S.C. operatives, loving odes to Generation X in the cane fields of Cajun country, a few backstories in the Sumdood universe, and more. I hope you giggle as much in reading them as I did writing them.

Enjoy.

Reviewing anthologies is hard enough, Grayson, without having to review anthologies that contain stories I have already reviewed.
I ALWAYS review the individual stories in anthologies, and this is going to be the exception that proves the rule. Instead, I'm just gonna say that some of these stories already have my opinions registered on this platform and on Amazon, and the rest are of similar quality. I'm not even going to try to make a list of those I've read and those I haven't; sufficient to say I really like Kelly's style, and I hope he keeps churning them out. Anyone who understands first responders and Waffle Houses is going to be on my list of 2BRead, and I plan on reading everything he publishes.

That's all!

This book consists of a group of Steven "Kelly" Grayson's short stories - I believe five stories are included (I no longer have my copy, so I'm not sure). Two were fantasy and three were military sci-fi. I had read four of the five stories in the book but enjoyed re-reading them. Fantasy isn't really my cup coffee tea but I enjoyed the military sci-fi immensely. All the stories had a blend of humor and action that was completely enjoyable. Three stars for the fantasy stories and five stars for the sci-fi - four stars overall. Recommended.
