“We want what we cannot have,” Calu said. “It is a common feeling to crave the mysterious and unique when we would all be better served by doing our daily chores.”

Another 5/5* instalment! This one was especially interesting and intense, with a political approach that I found quite appealing. And the unexpected twists within the two most powerful alien races had me in a nail-biting stance, forgetting everything that surrounded me. lol.

I really liked this premise in the Homeworld Lost series. It had a political element that was enlightening, a twist about “the Demons” I was certainly not expecting, I felt it personally, like a betrayal to the race. lol. Yes, I’m very involved with the series, a seemingly lighthearted, fun read, as sure it is, but it has its profound moments that make the series written by Scott Moon and JN Chaney so compelling and charming. That makes you love and root for the main characters. Lol. I even root for the villains who I think are not that evil as they seem at the beginning.
And as with human beings I have always procured not to generalise about other alien races, that all are evil. There always are individuals, a majority my optimistic self thinks, that are good. So why not the Tazil, the Dwellers too?

Noah is kidnapped!

The Taliz grab Noah while he is mountain climbing. They want information on the leviathans, which Noah is not prepared to give. As time passes, Voc'ti, the Taliz who was interrogating Noah and Noah appear to become friends as Noah finds out more about the Taliz and the demons (Tytons without battle tails that slaughter the Taliz). Deals have been made and not everything is what it seems....
For the first half or so the novel is focused on what is happening to Noah while he is captured by the Taliz and finds out more about his captives and different factions within the Taliz society. There is intrigue, suspense, double crosses, betrayals, as well as revelations over the Tytons that are fighting the Taliz. Noah and his team's attempts to foster a peaceful resolution between the two warring factions begins here and is set to continue in the next novel....

love this series!

Love this series and it’s characters. This one takes us to several new places and new characters. Noah and group find one new character especially intriguing. The storyline seems to go from one end of the action spectrum to the other, not once but several times. We also learn more about the sleeping Elders & they end up surprising the group by doing the unexpected. I was kind of surprised at the ending but not because the book wasn’t long enough or it wasn’t a good place to stop; it’s just that I still wanted to know what was happening on the new planet. So as usual, I just finished this book but I can’t wait til the next one. 😉
You can tell these two authors work well together based off the product they deliver. I think they did a really nice job with the book cover image as well.

Homeworld

I would have given this book a five star rating had it not been for the needlessly wasted 50 pages for a glossary that is just so unnecessary at the end of each book, including this one.
I was looking forward to another 50 pages of some decent enough reading. Is it really necessary or needed to have such a massive glossary at the end of a story. Do we see this in other books. A little in some and only a couple of pages. It doesn't impress at all when you are expecting more of the story to read. Maybe some will disagree with my opinion. To be honest I really don't care. This unnecessary use of the glossary just spoils expectations.

Good Read

Noah Gantz and friends continue the struggle to Tyson’s from both sides of the Obsidian Gate while trying to stop other aliens from invading and stripping the resources from habitable. They have located ancient elders in hibernation pods that maybe the answer peace between the different factions of Tyson’s. But the Taliz invasion into their region threatens to disrupt the peace talks. Noah has a “plan”… they all might die! What’s new! All the different factions, aliens, spies, and plots are coming to a head and ya, time is swiftly running out.

One disaster to the next

I love the dialogue and how Noah is acquainting the galaxies with human idioms. Action and fights without excessive details, but just enough. It's amazing how all these alien cultures have such distinct personalities and cultures. I never grow tired of the new horizons.

A series I'm fondly and enjoyably reading!

I'll eventually finish reading all the novels in the series and then have to find something else to keep my mind occupied. But I can look forward to doing it.

A good read

This is a continuation of the previous stories. I love the humor that comes through every story. There is some serious moments that add to the story. Thank you for reading, it is a lost art for so many people.
