This story may have had many moving parts, but they all came together nicely in the end. Anyone who enjoys mystery thrillers with unexpected twists will enjoy this!

A doting mother of three disappears one Monday morning after dropping off her children at daycare.
Was her philandering husband involved in her mysterious disappearance?
The book's premise was ulta-compelling but, unfortunately, this book lacked the high level of intrigue that was promised in the publisher's blurb.
Was it the book's uneven pacing and shallow characterizations?
Or was it the book's contrived and predictable storyline that failed to resonate with me?
Most likely it was the fact that this was book #14 of a series and since I had not read the earlier books in the series, I simply lacked the background to appreciate the book.
I listened to the audiobook read by Rebecca Cade. The narration was good but not great.

**I received a digital ARC of this book, and this is my honest and unsolicited review.**
I'm typically the kind of person who gets frustrated with books and movies because I can ALWAYS see the twist coming. I'll know "who dunnit" by the middle of the book. But with Til Death Do Us Part, I had NO IDEA what was happening until the very end!
Multiple stories expertly woven throughout this book, all coming together to create a beautiful tapestry of trauma. Every character seemed to be battling their own demons, some putting up a good fight, some not fighting at all.
The audiobook narrator brought a good amount of emotion to the story. It helped it feel more immersive, and less like it was just being read at you. For this story I enjoyed having just the female narrator, I think it gave more to the story somehow.
Knowing that this is part of a detective series I was worried I would need more backstory on some of the core characters, but it absolutely stands alone. I will definitely be finding the other Eva Rae Thomas books for my bookshelf, though. And will HOPEFULLY be seeing a book 15 coming out next year!

This is book #14 in the "Eva Rae Thomas Mystery" series. While preferred to read the other 13 in the series beforehand I do belive you can read this book without doing so and follow along just fine. The synopsis is very intriguing but the book fell a bit flat for my personal taste. Some thoughts:
*I did enjoy that it was told in the past and present. It helped put together the pieces in a more smooth manner and added flare to the mystery.
*John is just a suspicious guy all around. While he was an unlikable character he was written well.
*It became pretty predictable quickly. While not a huge deal breaker in a detective novel, the synopsis made it seem like there would be a lot more twists.
*It was also repetitive.
*The pacing was all over the place.
Overall not the book for me. However fans of detective mysteries would potentially enjoy.

I'm a fan of Willow Rose's books and I was so happy to read her newest installment of the Eva Rae Thomas Mystery. Even thou this is a part of a series it can be read as a standalone too. It is another good story that had many parts that clicked well at the end. Thank you, Willow Rose, Netgalley, and the publisher for this digital copy.

Well, that was a quick snack! Much needed after the last book I read that took me a long time. I have read this entire series. They are always full of twists and constant adventure. While I have enjoyed them all, I did at times find myself frustrated at certain aspects of them, more so in the newer releases. For example, in this book, why did no one think to ask where the children were?? Overall, not enough to deter me from reading Willow Rose. I think it's time to try out a new series by her.

I had high hopes for this novel, given its promising synopsis. However, it failed to live up to the hype in my opinion. To begin with, the writing style felt off, and the storyline lacked a natural pace. It all seemed very contrived. While the dual storyline was a great idea, it was executed too obviously, leaving nothing to the reader's imagination. Additionally, the story lacked any real suspense or mystery. The repeated use of the phrase "Till Death Do Us Part" in a different context felt out of place and contrived.
I'm new to Eva Rae's novels and picked this book based on positive reviews. Although it's not my favorite, I see potential in the series and would give this detective another chance.

What in the.
I love messed up and this was messed up. So right up my alley to say the least.
When I requested this book, I didn't know it was part of a series (let alone #14 of the series). I read it with no problem at all, as it seems that this can be a stand alone book. Eva Rae and Matt I assume are characters that are in all of the novels, but I think each book is a different case, which makes them easy to pick up and read like I did.
This was a whirlwind of a read.

While I did enjoy reading this latest book in the series, I found some inconsistencies. Once I found the first one, the second seemed to jump right out at me! I will continue to read the next two and hope to get back to the five star reviews.

I love this series and this addition is just perfect. Great storyline and suspenseful moments throughout. The characters are like old friends. So glad Eva Rae and Matt back together!

Another Great One
This book was full of twists and turns. Another great book by Willow Rose. Eva Rae Thomas is my favorite series. I can’t wait for the next one!

This is a decent story, I'll give the author that much credit. But the errors and inconsistencies in the storytelling go beyond the pale.
- A family member asks how their loved one died. The so-called FBI agent goes into great detail about the murder and the crime scene, THEN proceeds to whip out their little notebook and begins to question said family member about where they were during the time of the murder.
- In one sentence, "...the gun slipped from her grasp..." and in the very next sentence with no transition "...X tried to pry the weapon away..."
- A patient who'd just come out of a coma is lying in a hospital bed, a woman standing over him, her hands crushing his neck, when a doctor and a police officer burst into the room. The doctor tells the woman she "...needs to leave at once", while the officer "...gave a look to make them understand the severity of the situation."
- If someone's heart or mind wasn't racing (which they seemed to do every other page), then something "hit someone like a ton of bricks."
- I could go on and on. Just know the above examples are the rule and not the exception.
I nearly DNF'd after the first several pages. My 2-star review is me being generous. Oh. Did I fail to mention that the main character is a so-called experienced FBI agent who appears to fall apart inside at nearly every little challenging part of being an FBI agent? How did she make it through Quantico? Gee whiz. So much inauthenticity. Far too many errors.
Sincerely, I'm glad there are many readers who enjoy this author's work. I will not be among them.

This one was not as good as the others.. I mean, yes it did have some crazy action and it was so hard to unravel and determine who the killer was… but there were certain things that gave it away. When they go and visit the victims long lost father in prison, and then being told the reason he was in there.. instantly knew he was probably innocent. It’s too cliché.. and then with the pizza crust.. I immediately knew who the killer was. Now you did get confused and twisted with a different person cleaning up blood, and then the running away.. I just wish he could have told them why he ran.
There is a part that didn’t make sense though and that wasn’t cleared up 100%.. Kyla was going to run away, but we never find out if she knew anything prior to being told.
And the ending in the hospital!! How could you do that.. I don’t know how he could be an integral part of the books after that happens to him..

Mystery and domestic drama misses the mark.
A wife and mother of three, Rachel Baker, disappears on her way to work one morning. As is typical, her husband is the primary suspect especially once the police find that he was having an affair and that Rachel had purchased some plane tickets to make an escape.
FBI Agent Eva Rae Thomas and her boyfriend, Detective Matt Miller, investigate and interview everyone connected to Rachel and her husband, John. Rachel's mother and sister are wild with worry and are convinced that John has killed Rachel. John hides the children from his mother-in-law and everything gets really ugly -- then Rachel's body is found.
Told in a past and present narrative with the murder case being foremost, the secondary story line is the voice of a little girl who, along with her sisters, is being horribly abused by a psycho mother.
I don't imagine anyone will be surprised by the connection. In fact, the entirety of this plot is predictable and overwrought. The dialog is repetitive and full of melodrama and angst as everyone is so overcome all the time with emotion. The detective work seems superficial, and Eva Rae and Matt do a lot of running around accomplishing little, and also being just a beat too late.
I did not realize that this was the 14th in a series when I requested the audiobook from NetGalley. Jumping into this at this point proved merely a minor irritant as I failed to appreciate the one-dimensional characters regardless of what could have been the backstory. The rapid wrap up at the end and the set up for the next book left me feeling underwhelmed.

So I believe this is the second book of hers that I’ve read…and from what I remember, the outlines are similar…
This one is told in dual timelines…
One is present day, the other was years ago.
The weird thing is that they do NOT seem to line up in any way, shape or form. And so you are reading and trying to figure out what one story has to do with the other…
Until it all clicks…
And your jaw drops…
In present day we have a young couple with young children. The wife knows he has a history of cheating, and is afraid he’s up to the same shenanigans again. But she swears this is it. She’s going to leave him…
And then she disappears…
Weird, because her Dad has been MIA for years…but there’s a link to him now that she’s gone. 😮
In the past the picture is painted of two young girls and their Mom.
The Mom is out there, and apparently, off the wall crazy!
She punishes her girls for not doing things perfectly…(like finding a dust ball under the bed…crazy!! And, they’re just KIDS!)
It’s disturbing to actually read some of these scenes…so if you’re squeamish, you may want to bypass parts of this one…
The way Willow Rose paints the pictures for you is amazing…
Makes you feel like you are there living it with them…
And the way it’s wrapped up in the end… 😮😮😮

Premise - this is a mystery thriller told in a dual timeline. In the present day, a mother disappears and her husband is fingered for the crime. In the past day timeline, two girls try to escape an insane caricature of an abusive mother.
This was certainly thrilling and kept me turning pages, but clunky prose distracted from the story, especially in the beginning when I wasn’t engaged enough yet to not care.
I also think the caricaturization of the abusive mother was a missed opportunity - she does stuff like hit her child for tripping, when it would be so much more realistic (and thus scary) if she overpunished for things that would irritate sane parents. Kids do tons of annoying stuff every day - what if the kid spills a smoothie down her shirt right before they’re supposed to head out and the mother absolutely loses it on her, instead of the normal parent reaction of an inward groan before changing the kid’s outfit? Let us understand a seed of her rage - don’t worry, we’ll still get that the kid isn’t bad and the mother’s response is cruel. Have some faith in your readers!
Aside from those complaints, this was thrilling and so up my alley in terms of domestic intrigue. I haven’t read the others in the series yet, but I very well may!

Till Death Do Us Part is the 14th book in the Eva Rae Thomas FBI Mysteries, but only the first one I have read or listened to. I had no problems following or enjoying this story, so feel comfortable saying that it can be read as a standalone story. Rachel Baker, is a loving mother of three, who vanished one morning after dropping her children off at daycare and her husband off at work. Her family is convinced that the her husband is the killer, especially as he has had affairs, and was planning to leave him. Is he the killer? FBI agent Eva Rae Thomas, a tenacious investigator is determined to uncover the truth, especially as she knows Rachel and their sons are friends.
Although I am including this on my Thriller Thursday post, it is more of a mystery and police procedural. There are a lot of characters with issues or drama in their lives. Even Eva is dealing with family and house issues. I liked watching her investigation and how she went about questioning people and following the clues. The story was well plotted and developed and besides the husband, I had no idea who the murderer could be. When the final twist came and the killer was unveiled, my jaw dropped. It made sense and played out well. I enjoyed this book and time permitting, I would love to read more from this series. I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed the narration by Rebecca Cade. This is the first time I listened to her and her tone, expression and pacing adding to my enjoyment of this story.

This is the fourteenth book in Willow Rose's "Eva Rae Thomas" series, each as intriguing as the last.
Rachel Baker had gone from a controlling, manipulative mother to a controlling manipulative husband, she now had three children who were at pre school, her husband, John, didn't agree with this, he thought that she should be at home looking after them, the children were fighting, Rachel and John were fighting, John was openly flirting in front of her, she needed her job as a nurse practitioner to preserve her sanity.
Having dropped the children at pre school and John at the estate agent's where he worked, the same estate agents where he had carried out an affair with his assistant, Rachel set off for the hospital but.........Rachel never arrived at the hospital, her car was found abandoned at the side of the road.
John was distraught, but was he hiding something ? Kyla, Rachel's sister and her irate mother thought so but John had ideas of his own.
Rachel's body was found in a storage unit, FBI agent Eva Rae Thomas and her partner Detective Matt Miller were busy decorating their home when they were called in to investigate.

Series no 14 Eva Rae Thomas mystery
I had the audiobook read by Rebecca Cade. Not my favourite narrator but I settled into her style. Her young voices are good, the male voices not the best but it’s a stretch for one narrator to cover such a range, so overall she does a good job.
I thought it might be a huge mistake as it’s late on in the series and my first book by this author. However it works well as a standalone it’s totally self contained. There’s no cryptic references to previous cases.
A woman goes missing leaving her children behind. Her family are convinced that something untoward has happened.
There’s a second emotionally charged thread providing a dual time line. I’m not sure that the way it was presented was necessary, although the thread worked to enhance the story.
The writing style has a more formal approach, my preference is for a more relaxed chatty style. It’s an easy listen, however it’s a bit on the tame side for me although it has a decent pace. There are plenty of allegations, counter allegations, and shocking reveals.
I enjoyed the plot, I think it’s mostly the combination of the writing style and the narrator that’s stopping me from gelling with this one more. It’s obviously a popular series with a big following.

Till Death do us Part is the fourteenth book in Willow Rose's "Eva Rae Thomas" series. It has all the interesting twists, turns and family drama that I've come to expect from this great series. In other words, I couldn't put it down. The only "downside" was getting to "know" each of the characters who were murdered. I was really rooting for each of them. In other words, I was really drawn in and felt invested in the story.
Eva and Matt have gotten back together and are moving forward as a family. They've even started redecorating her (now their) house together before they get some unwelcome news.
Earlier: it was a crazy morning and Rachel was upset with her husband. She suspected that he was having another affair. But having no time to wallow in her sadness, they dropped their children off at their daycare center and then she dropped him off at his job.

Willow Rose is one of the best author of thrillers who takes news stories and makes them her own in her writing. This is the 14th Eva Rae thrilling mystery that takes you on such a roller coaster ride, with so many twists and turns and red-herrings that just when you think you Got IT...you're wrong! In this case, Rachel and her cheating husband John are having problems again. After she drops the twins off at day-care and her husband at his office, she proceeds to go to work at the hospital. Only she never makes it there. Her car is found but not Rachel. Eva Rae and Matt are called upon to find Rachel and then find her murderer. The likely suspect is her husband John but then he gets attacked and where are the twins? I couldn't stop reading once I began. You are grabbed from the first page and never let go through all the danger, miscues and events that take Eva Rae and Matt all over the place. I highly recommend this book as well as the entire series if you like wonderful edge of your seat thrillers with great characters. I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.

The husband has no alibi, accusations from the mother- and sister-in-laws point to a controlling marriage and adultery. But the more Eva Rae and Matt investigate the more confusing the case gets, and doubts about the husband's guilt are growing. If the husband isn't guilty, who is?
There are some interesting side stores that appear to be just interesting points of interest. Not to worry, as usual, the author brings all these threads together in an exciting and shocking conclusion.

Till Death Do Us Part is a gripping mystery that keeps you guessing from start to finish. The story begins with the shocking murder of a woman named Rachel, shortly after she drops her children off at daycare and her husband at work. Initially, all evidence points towards her husband as the prime suspect. However, as the plot thickens, it becomes clear that he is innocent.
Willow Rose masterfully intertwines past memories and childhood experiences throughout the narrative, adding depth to the characters and enriching the story. As you piece together these snippets of the past, you come to realize that Rachel is not who you initially thought she was.
This book was a quick read for me, with its fast-paced plot keeping me on the edge of my seat. The constant twists and turns left me eager to uncover more clues and solve the mystery of who murdered Rachel.
Till Death Do Us Part is my first book by Willow Rose, and it certainly won’t be my last. I am eager to explore more of her work in the future.

She disappeared one Monday morning after dropping her children off at daycare. They found her car on the side of the road with no trace of her anywhere. While investigating they found out she was plannng to leave her husband. They question if her husband killed her because she wanted to leave or if her sister helped her disappear. FBI Agent Eva Rae Thomas is in the middle of renovating her house with her boyfriend Detective Matt Miller. She is called in to assist with the case and she knows Rachel. their children are best friends and she will do whatever she can to find Rachel. Unfortunately Rachel's body turns up in a storage unti and she is determined to find the killer. While this is happening, the husband and mother-in-law fight over the children. Things turn ugly as secrets are gushing out. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

Till Death Do Us Part was a netgalley audio arc, and nowhere in the description or title was it listed as book #14 in a series. I normally would never opt to jump in that late in a book series, assuming the well developed characters came with a history and past which carries on from book to book. That said, my perception after listening is either being part of a series, with an ignorant listener affected my enjoyment, or it just wasn't for me.
Chapter 1 was great and I was looking forward to the story of a harried mom with the typical philandering spouse, but before I could get to no her, she disappeared and this became more of a police procedural. The positives are that it read really quickly, and the ending was satisfying. I would definitely consider another Willow Rose book, but not as part of a series.
