Prince of Tanimara

Rate this book
Orcs have plagued the mortal races of Abrion for millennia after the dragons failed their charge. The wizard Alzar is now the steward of Abrion and seeks the help of the mortal races to return balance to the world.

Tanimara or Land of the Elves in Elvish, has always viewed orcs as a distant threat. Never has an orcish horde reached the shores of Tanimara until now.

Prince Velnir of Atlan in Tanimara experienced firsthand what the orcs are capable of and nearly loses everything. He cannot allow this transgression to go unpunished, but he also cannot do it alone.

This is fantasy storytelling at its finest! From the very first pages, I was swept into the richly imagined world of Abrion, where wizards, elves, and orcish hordes clash in a battle for survival and balance. The writing is vivid and immersive, with just the right mix of action, intrigue, and emotional depth.

Prince Velnir’s struggle to defend his homeland while facing impossible odds made him a character I couldn’t stop rooting for. The orcs are truly fearsome, and the sense of looming danger kept me hooked from start to finish. Alzar’s role as steward of Abrion adds a compelling layer of wisdom and urgency, making the story feel both epic and meaningful.

What I loved most was how this book blends fast-paced adventure with themes of unity, courage, and resilience. It’s a sweeping tale that reminded me why I fell in love with epic fantasy in the first place. If you’re a fan of Tolkien, Sanderson, or simply crave an epic journey filled with heart and high stakes, this book is a must-read.

My Huge DNF!
First of all AI cover, yes there is a touch of a real drawing but 70% still AI
Second is plot: cheap fanfiction of World of Warcraft, who know will recognize by some scenes and names.
And 2 stars for quality of text, editing if it was there is horrible, I found it impossible to follow the plot due to the sheer number of identical words crammed into single sentences, as well as the unnatural repetitions scattered throughout the text (see page 12). There was also bizarre formatting, where a single sentence would abruptly break off in the middle and spill over into a new paragraph. Overall, the writing is so wooden—so utterly clunky—that it feels as though it were hacked out with a blunt axe. The scenes depicting attacks and battles—of which there are no fewer than three before the end of the very first chapter—are written in a manner suggesting the author not only failed to conduct any research into military ranks, sentry duties, or city layouts, but hasn't even watched a single movie—or even a cartoon—that features combat.
If you are as much of a novice to the combat fantasy genre as the author is, or if you are an avid fan of *any* *World of Warcraft* fanfiction, then by all means, go ahead and read this. However, speaking from my own perspective—as someone with extensive experience in the fantasy genre and a background in literary studies—I can neither recommend this book to others nor do I intend to finish reading it myself.

Action-Packed From the First Page!
Prince of Tanimara is a thrilling first installment in what is sure to be an epic adventure. Brimming with many of the fantastical creatures we know and love (elves, orcs, dragons, griffins, manticores, dwarves, and more), this book delivers a world of magic and danger.

Much of the story follows Velnir, a prince who at first seems to be just another stiff, elven noble. But it quickly becomes clear that he’s willing to risk everything for what he believes is right. Along his journey, he forms unexpected alliances, faces daunting challenges, and even discovers a forbidden love, all while seeking revenge against the ruthless orcs threatening his kingdom.

I thought the main character being elven rather than human brought a fresh perspective compared to other fantasy stories I've read. And I loved the kraken! Several plot twists kept me eager to see how everything would unfold.

With themes of adventure, betrayal, love, war, family, fantastical beasts, and a wizard striving for balance, Prince of Tanimara will sweep you into the world of Abrion from the very first page.

Prince of Tanimara by J.A Peter is a breath of fresh air, that will hit all of your major fantasy tropes. If you were like me playing World of Warcraft in your formative years, you will see where the inspiration has come from. The Tanimara series is set in a war bound world, ravaged by orcs where our heroes must come together to fight against the evil tide. The fast-paced nature of the book does not take away from its suspenseful moments either. A well written, action packed based fantasy.
A must read for the lovers of fast paced, breath-taking epic fantasy.
