This felt extremely rushed. The premise wasn't bad, but nothing groundbreaking, but it was really the style of the story that lost me. The beginning did an introduction to everything at breakneck speed and then each chapter was from a different character's POV. And, due to the short runtime of the book, you never got your bearings as to who was who. And it was with that creative decision that plot points seemed to get lost in the shuffle and the progression of the story was very muddled. This needed to either be a great deal longer to flesh everything out and fix the pacing issues or keep the POV to Jasmine exclusively. This wasn't terrible, but I ultimately found more to dislike than enjoy here.

A quick read that’ll have you on the edge of your seat! This gave “Get Out” vibes. And the suspense had me reading so fast!

This is my second book by the author. She is officially one of my favorite horror/thriller authors!

Jasmine comes from a big family. She gave dating up after finding herself unfulfilled and disappointed over and over again. Then She meets Kevin. While she doesn’t care to date outside of her race. Her family finds out and one of her sisters immediately feels like something is off about him. (Rightfully so)

He invited Jasmines ENTIRE family out to his place for thanksgiving dinner. She’s thinking he is just trying to be thoughtful and have two families come together. What she doesn’t find out until later is…… The turkey necks they eat on the first day are limbs from one of her siblings.

Y’all! You HAVE to read this book! I could 100% see this on Netflix.

I could go on and on. But I don’t want to give too much away! I will tell y’all though. This family didn’t go out without a fight! They definitely effed around and found out!

Get Out with Gore

I liked it I read it straight through I was on the edge of my seat reading after Jazz realized the song that was being hummed because house of she has never been here? Simone did what she was supposed to do Josh held it down other butttt (I’ll just say keys and keep going) Good to have close relationships. First book Linette and I don’t even know how I stumbled across it but it was worth it

Not the best book for me to read as I’m in an interracial relationship😖. But it had a good concept, to remind me of Get Out. But it was definitely too short, would have more promise if there were maybe 100 pages. Felt rushed, all over the place. Couldn’t really attach the characters to names. A good short read during my lunch break, I didn’t have any turkey necks thank god 🙌🏽

Don't read the synopsis. Go into this book blindly. I did and man this caught me by surprise. This gave 'Get Out' vibes and unfortunately, it's based on true events. The way the author told this story was quick, entertaining, and mind-blowing. I enjoyed it! First time reading from this author, but won't be my last. Wow!

Linette you always find a way to leave my mouth on the floor! To know that this was less than 100 pages makes me want more but idk if I can handle more! That family is sick but the reality is some may be doing this! I hate it for Steven but at least it was only one! If I didn’t personally prepare our meal I’d eye everybody on thanksgiving lol

These people had their child find a target. She must be black. Manipulated that target, and had her invite her entire family to their estate. So they could digest them. Claiming black people, when digested, prevents them from illness. Seriously???? 😳 wow!

Wow, this book was absolutely wild! I really admired Simone; she was all about business and sensed that something was off right away. Jasmine wasn't messing around with those people at all. The ending had me gripping my seat, just hoping for the best!
