We each hold the power to attract and build the life we want, the one we deserve, the one we dream of... You are a Magnet offers the guiding principles to start us on this journey towards abundant opportunity, joy and growth.

Amber Lyon, mindfulness and magnetism coach and founder of viral online community, Modern Mind, has changed thousands of people's outlooks through her work - teaching us how to find the magic in discomfort and carve a path for a brighter future using simple thought reframes. I believe the author combined her favourite quotes and created a chapter out of each one. The book lacks cohesion and feels very sporadic.

This is a wonderful self help book that spells out step by step on how to manifest in your life. Nothing that you haven’t heard here but it’s simple and well formatted. It has quotes that are inspiring. It has short clear defined chapters and it comes in a beautiful pink cover.

SOOO many nuggets of wisdom and practical advice for living your truest self for your best life! My only problem with this book was that there was constant “tips” or advice so it was a little hard for me to remember it all or take it all in in detail compared to the memoir “self help” books - although the author does add personal stories from her life! But she does even add in the beginning that this is a good book to go back to certain sections when needed as reminders so I think that’s what I’ll end up doing when I remember something from the book but can’t fully remember what it was!

I definitely took my time with this book, savoring each chapter and trying out the activities after each one. Such a lovely read — I know I’ll keep coming back to it for advice. Plus, the cover is so beautiful, it’s perfect to display anywhere around my house!

Very subjective! This highly depends on the reader. It’s either your cup of tea, or it isn’t. Not a fan of most self help books but I loved how digestible it’s structured (recaps, bullet points, one liners, etc.). I didn’t take away any revolutionary concepts, but it articulated a lot of beliefs that I needed to be remind of.

Magnetism is simply my favorite topic. It can feel elusive at times but we’ve all experienced it. Moments of magnetism where the world seems to work more in our favor—aligned connections and opportunities dropping out of nowhere. Or witnessed this in others and wondered how they do it.

This book distills the magic of magnetism into all its parts. A guidebook for living magnetically—full of timeless wisdom delivered in a very accessible, interactive, modern way. I’ll continue to return to these pages!

This book focuses on changing your life by changing how you view it. Amber Lyon has frameworks: Alchemizing Fear, Cultivating Courage, The Magnetic Mindset, and Living Through Joy, that readers can use to address viewing your life differently.

This is a self-help book that I was offered by Hatchette Books to read and review. Everything is presented in a concise and clear manner. Things in this book are common sense but may be helpful to those who need a gently nudge into taking the steps needed to look at things differently and begin taking the steps addressed in this book. As with many self-help books, this book addresses many things that hinder progress such as fear, anxiety, self-doubt, self-image, etc. Again, I found the information to be common sense and what has been presented before, but the author does present the information in a soothing and gentle way.

I received a copy of this book from Hachette books in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

First, this cover is absolutely beautiful.. if I saw this at a bookstore I would consider buying it just for the cover 😂

I was a little apprehensive about this book because on the surface it appeared like a guide to manifesting. However, after reading the first few chapters it become known that Lyon takes a different approach to manifesting and calls it magnetism. It’s an interesting concept and one I agree with more so than manifesting.

It can be a little repetitive but the lessons paired with guided questions make for a really interesting and informative read. It’s definitely a book to annotate and return to when needed. The author advises to read the chapters that speak to you rather than reading cover to cover.

Will I return to this book? Possibly. I do recommend this book for someone who is wanting to get into manifesting in particular trying to attract a certain life/transition to living your authentic self 👌🏼

If you are young and you enjoy self-help books then don't miss this one. This almost reads as a devotional - each "chapter" (they aren't numbered) is short and comes with skills and/or activities to do after reading. This book is meant to be savored. None of the self-help mantras are totally new but I do love how the book is packaged. There were definitely some quotes and mantras that I wrote down to remember and it's a good one to refer back to you. The advice ranges from forgiveness to not fighting the current - to embracing each day as new - to cultivating what sparks joy. Each little section is impactful and it would be a good way to start each day.

I've been following modern mind for a long time and love the content, so I really wanted to love this book. However for me it didn't quite hit the mark. There are a many very short chapters, each discussing a variety of different topics and ideas. I struggled with this, as at times I felt like I was reading a constant stream of thoughts without any real structure or end. I didn't learn anything new from this book personally. However, some thoughts were useful reminders and this could be good for people new to self-reflection. I definitely recommend Amber's Instagram content in any case.

I’ve read many a “self help” book but this is by far the best one I’ve experienced! I originally followed the author on Instagram and always resonated with her posts, so I didn’t hesitate to buy her book. I love that each guiding principle is thought provoking and concise. The reminders and affirmations are validating and the journal / reflection prompts really helped me learn about myself on a deeper level. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to dip their toes in shadow work with empowerment. Lots of bookmarks that I’ll continue to look back on!

Loved this book on my self care journey. If you’re feeling stuck, burnt out, or run down, this book has an amazing perspective on mindset shifting to receive what you put out in the world and to choose to focus on joy and peace. I ended up really finding that Amber Lyon really spoke to me and I now have her meditation app which has been such a nice complement to her book and focus on magnetism. Would def recommend if you’re open to it

This book helps me review the entire transitioning process, including the way I can quantum leap into the new version of myself. Although I never really thought I could be like that, I have always been like that. I never thought I could be much more intentional in every action I took for myself, including responding to my immediate environment. The power of presence indeed highlights of this book.

I feel like this book was a little all over the place, each chapter was about something completely different and it didn’t feel like there was a super strong thread tying chapters together. It also felt a little repetitive and preachy at times

HOWEVER, there were a few chapters that really resonated with me and covered topics that I’ve been thinking about recently, and I felt like those few chapters made the book worthwhile

I really enjoyed this book, however I do recommend reading versus listening. I listened via Audible, the book is very interactive including journal prompts and devotionals. I see this book as something you can come back to time and time again when you need inspiration or a push to ground yourself. I may purchase a hard copy for that exact purpose!

This is a great book, thoughtfully written with good tools to work through creating a life that’s meaningful and abundant. Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a book that’s more than a surface level self help book; this one talks about spirituality and the action steps you can take to create so much goodness.

Sehr empfehlenswert!

Ideas that I have heard and read before in my life, especially for someone that reads self-help regularly, put together in one single book. I found it easy to read but not super insightful. Appreciated the last part that was really about how to connect with your magnetic self and how to live everyday life according to that magnetic energy.

I LOVE this book! I planned to read a chapter a day but ended up nearly finishing the book in one sitting because I couldn’t put it down. My favourite book I’ve read in the self help section since the power of now. It’s personal, actionable and eloquently written. 5 stars.

Similar to other self help / wellness books on how to embrace life with more joy / less fear. Nothing new here but I enjoyed the easy reading style in digestible chapters. Author adds questions that I found helpful to contemplate.

Audible. A lot of guiding principles to take in. In this case, I would have preferred to read the physical book.
