From the ashes. That was my plan from the very beginning. To rise from the inferno and build something new with Makaylie. She’s everything I never knew I wanted. Everything I thought I didn’t need.
So when her safety is in question because of my very existence, I must protect her. Even if it’s from the men who look up to me as their leader. If they found out about her, the cost would be devastating. She’s a good girl—I’m nothing but a wounded man with a black heart, keeping my identity from her.
When our different worlds collide, the outcome will be catastrophic—not only for her but for the people we love. The chaos I’ve unleashed will wreak havoc on the streets of Baton Rouge, and no one will be safe. Not even the sanctity of the Baton Rouge Bachelors can outrun the storm that’s coming.
From K E Osborn, USA Today bestselling author comes… The conclusion to the Baton Rouge Bachelors Duet. An opposites attract spin-off from the NOLA Defiance MC Series, but you don’t need to read NOLA Defiance to enjoy the conclusion to this duet. The alpha hero has ‘touch her and I will unalive you’ vibes, with a great supporting cast that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
With a flair for all things creative, USA Today Bestselling Author K E Osborn, is drawn to the written word. Exciting worlds and characters flow through her veins, coming to life on the page as she laughs, cries, and becomes enveloped in the storyline right along with you. ❤️🔥From the ashes is the turbulent ending to the Baton Rouge Bachelors Duet. The story picks up from the ending of Up in Flames and we are thrown into an emotional roller coaster ride. My heart and stomach were in knots. The fast action, betrayal, violence, suspense, drama, angst, and combustible romance is perfectly written. So many emotions felt from the start to finish. ❤️🔥Makaylie and Cain’s pull to one another is incredibly intense. Together they find the strength necessary to make it through the dramatic obstacle courses they face. Both Makaylie and Cain go through some brutal experiences but never give up on what they truly want and expect from each other. Their undeniable love is deep and passionate. ❤️🔥There are many insane plot twists and jaw dropping reveals that pack a powerful gut punch. From start to finish Up in Flames by is fantastic. I highly recommend this duet by K E Osborn. After the gripping ending I excitedly wait for what comes next.
The conclusion of the Baton Rouge Bachelors duet, and it starts just where book one left off. Cain and Makaylee's journey is a rough one! Filled with loads of a drama, mystery, danger, violence, and of course naughty bits that were smoking hot. This story is not rainbows and unicorns, so be prepared for some nitty gritty. I will say I love that this story didn't play out at all the way I thought it would, it's been a while since I wasn't able to predict the events of a story. I give this 5 stars.
Holy cow!!!! What a ride this book was. It was action packed from the very start. I had no idea where this journey was going to go for Cain & Makaylie and I was SHOCKED by one of the twists that came along. This was well written and I really like the characters even if they weren't exactly what they seemed. I hope we will see more of them in the future. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book for my honest review.
Hold on for some jaw dropping moments! This book picked up where Up in Flames left off and didn’t miss a beat. Cain and Makaylie were so opposite in so many ways with secrets that were deadly but their love endured so many life changing moments that this was a book I couldn’t put down. The steam, the drama and the suspense were nonstop. This is definitely a book that is a must read.
Love this series Love the Defiance mc nola Cain and N Makalies intense emotional heartstopping 2nd chance insta love story All the feels Cant wait for more
🖤💜 "I detest that I have no control. This gorgeous woman holds all the damn cards, and I can’t fucking stand it. When she gave herself to me—that meant she is mine. She loves me. I love her. I’ll make her see that there is no one else for her. And I will ensure I remind her who she belongs to." - Cain
Oh Cain , you moody, broody overprotective alpha that I wanted to slap in Up In Flames. I still want to slap you, but I have fallen hard for you now. 🖤 Makaylie, you did what I was hoping you'd do. Find your inner strength! ❤️
Cain and Makaylie are so different yet they compliment each other perfectly. From the Ashes shows us exactly why they are made for each other.
From the Ashes is soooo damn good. Absolutely frikkin' loved it! After the build up from Up in Flames, I was amped for this and KE Osborn came through with the goods. Action, spice, surprise twists, so many damn emotions. This story just went full steam ahead and didn't let up. Love! Love! Love! 💜🖤💜
The second part of this duet amps up the action and suspense even more. I found Cain's ways veering from alpha-hot to toxic territory. Mackaylie fortunately put him in his place. Some fabulous twists in the storyline made the pages fly. Good read.
I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
KE Osborn pulled me into the story from the beginning in Up in Flames and I was on the edge of my seat for the second part of the duet so I could have the ending!
The ups and downs of the story had me on a bit of an emotional roller coaster and I could not wait to find out what happened next.
I found that KE had the perfect ending to the story which wrapped it up perfectly.
I cannot wait to see what KE Osborn comes up with next.
Argh I’m not going to lie. Yes, I gave book one of this duet five stars Bc I was a huge fan of Cain going into this but it was harder for me to get through Bc I had a hard time connecting with the characters. But, with the way it ended I had to know wtf happened next and wow. I totally liked book two SO much better!!!
This book gave me ALL the answers to the questions and some I didn’t think about. Then other parts that left me in my bed at 3am screaming NO and then legit crying my eyes out and it’s legit been SOOO long since a book has made cry.
Makaylie and Cain are so in love and want each other so much but they’re being pulled apart by things out of their control.
Cain has never felt the things he’s feeling when it comes toward Makaylia and Bc of her he wants to get out of the Baton Rouge Bachelors at any cost. Makaylia wants Cain to not be so demanding and two just let her in and he says he wants to but then doesn’t.
It’s a legit internal battle within themselves and between each other!!
I do hope that even though Cain & Makaylia got their HEA that Bc of the way this book ended that they’ll be back. Bc, umm Rodberg… What?!?! Didn’t see that coming and I’m hoping that we’ll get more from him. ESP now Bc I’m silently LMAO thinking of how his and Cain’s relationship will go and I’m here and ready for it.
K. E. you made me shocked, mad, sad, cry and laugh and I’m excited to see what you release next.
Oh, good, this book picked up exactly where book one let off. Wow, Cain gets stalkerish in the first third of the story. Why? Watching Makaylie become a turtle made my heart hurt. What happens when Joey finally gets Makaylie to go out with her one night? Who is there? What happens when Makaylie moves to leave, and Joey goes to the restroom? Well, the Boss's name is finally revealed! Who turns against Cain? What is the result? I was shocked at what I learned about Rodberg. Who died in this book had me floored. I wept. The ending was fun. Read and see what happened.
I absolutely loved this book so much more than Up in Flames. I felt like Up in Flames was rushed in some spots and From the Ashes definitely tied a bunch of loose ends up. It had me gasping out loud at several scenes, I shed some tears (not gonna lie) and was so glad to see this was a HEA. I did not have high hopes for Cain and Makaylie to work out - you just gotta read for yourself how this rollercoaster of emotions turns into a HEA.
From the Ashes, the second part of the Baton Rouge Bachelors Duet, was exciting and twisty from the beginning. The bad guys are really bad in this book, and our anti-heroes are really good. Thank goodness. Cain is striving to be the guy he wants to be for Makaylie, which brings a lot of danger to both of them. Thank goodness he's remained friends with some who come to help out when needed. There is a lot of danger, excitement, angst, and hot romance which makes for a good read.
Ashes by KE Osborn is book Two in the Baton Rouge Bachelors Duet. This continues the story of Mackley and Cain. Their story started in the previous book 'Up in Flames'. So you will need to read that one before starting this one. This book picked up where we left off and kept my turn the pages from there. Enjoyed this duet.
4* Cain & Makaylie's story continues from Up in flames. As much as Cain knows he could possibly be putting Makaylie at risk he can't seem to let her go. Unfortunately not everyone is happy with the way he's been. Risks are taken and not every decision made is a good one. A great conclusion to their story.
An exciting conclusion to this duet. The plot is fast paced and twists it's way through nefarious goings on. We knew Trap was an ahole but man I hate that guy. There are many romantic scenes, however there are also heartwrenching moments, so you may need tissues at the ready. A very enjoyable duet that I would recommend to readers of this genre.
The conclusion of Cain and Makaylie’s story is epic. Chaos and mayhem, drama and romance all rolled up into the glorious book that this is. The twists and turns are shocking and the story will definitely keep you on the edge. Loved seeing our friends from NOLA Defiance MC make appearances and meeting some new friends as well. Loved this duet and 100,000 percent recommend.
This is a very good read, I didn't review the first book because I wanted to see what happened next. So so good, we have betrayal, but in a good way. We have a very sad death, and new beginnings. Plus we have Defiance, always a plus. This duo is worth reading. On to the next adventure.💙💚
2nd book in the BATON ROUGE BACHELORS duet. I loved the HEA ending. I still didn’t like the intense violence. It just feels different than the MC violence. This is unnecessary violence. But overall the book was well written. I can always recommend the work of KE Osborn.
Cain and Makaylie’s conclusion had a few twists that I didn’t see coming. The drama that followed them was trying for sure. Once again KE Osborn’s writing will suck you in and keep you until the very end!
K E Osborn never ever disappoints and with the conclusion to this exciting Duet she exceeded expectations, Cain and Makaylie's story has been compulsive reading and the finale was exceptional, loved this couples journey to with all the twists and turns to their wonderful HEA.
All I can say Is wow. I love this book and the emotional rollercoaster from hell. Holy fuck. I can't wait to read more of your work because you became my favorite author 💗💗 keep up the amazing work.
I highly recommend this and please read trigger warnings
Wow, what a great read - a few great twists n this book that kept me wanting to know more about the secrets Cain was keeping Malaykie and I loved seeing if their love would continue throughout the book!
As always a fabulous read! I could not put it down.hold on to your seat because this is a rollercoaster ride you will not want to get off of. You definitely have to read up in flames first. This is the continuation of Cain and Makaylie’s story.
Story was different so definitely great and unique. Gave it 4 stars and not 5 because as an author not one of the good characters should not have their HEA Happily Ever After. So that being said I would not recommend this to my friends, I don’t want them to cry. Plus too much monologue not enough dialogue. Sorry I love all her other books.
A very good conclusion to this story. Lots of suspense, intrigue and emotional ups and downs. Keeps your attention, just don't know what will happen next.
