I LOVE Snow Dark!!

Let me start off by saying I don't typically read retellings. I read a few other books from this author so I decided to give it a shot. I am so glad I did!! This book is fantastic!! It is not your typical retelling, it's unique, and well written. The details that go into this short story were fantastic and drew me in from page one. I was shocked that I finished it so fast. I would absolutely recommend checking out this amazing and quick read.

A short, fast-paced vampire/snow white retelling with a good dose of mythology/lore woven throughout to keep you turning pages. Well written with a unique and original concept, dual timeline, multi-pov, blood-sucking action, treasure hunting and a huntress!! I was hooked immediately and can only hope there will be more!

When is the sequel coming out?

Great story line, and the ending is definitely left open for a sequel. This author continues to entertain and spell bind with her stories. The only question left to ask is: When is the sequel coming out?

A Creative Retelling of A Classic Fairy Tale

Snow Dark by Susan Bowman is a beautiful and creative retelling of a classic fairy tale. I wouldn't typically read this book, but a friend recommended it, so I gave it a try. I am happy I did. The characters were engaging, the plot was riveting, and the story was a fun read. It isn't easy to highlight some of my favorite parts of this book without spoiling the surprises for the readers. This retelling turns everything you thought you knew upside down and sideways. I give this story five stars and my highest recommendation!

Lackluster.

I found that I couldn't connect with the characters, and that the story itself was not really my cup of tea. I wasn't sure I would like it after the first chapter, but I finished it, so there's something to be said for that.

I do think that, for the right person, this could be a hit. I was not that person.

This book feels like it's suffering from identity issues. There's so many different characters in it for such a short book that it feels like it needs to be longer, and it introduces so many concepts so fast. There's no time to take in everything. There's a good story here, but it just needs to be expanded on. This book should have been a lot longer.

A very fast-paced book with a fun twist on a popular trope: vampires! Pulls from the Grimm Brothers version of Snow White, and uses Greek mythology as the basis for the lore. Lots of fighting, puzzle solving, and flashbacks to the mythological origins of how vampires came to be.

If you're looking for a fun, fast-paced vampire book with a fresh twist, check this one out!

Looking for a good vampire story that meets fairy tales and mythology? Then you have found a good one to pick !!! I could not put this down. I love the characters and their backgrounds- although some might leave ya a little teary eyed. Strong characters and amazing mythology and story writing.
